Even so, in the Florida heat, even a small animal decomposing on the side of the road is going to generate a sizable stench. A car's AC will pick that up easily. A decaying child's body that close to the road in south Florida is going to register with every car that drives by it.

Maybe that wasn't the original dumping ground. Maybe after decomposition was complete, the remains were moved near the grandfather's house. That it was so close to the road would be suggestive that the body was dumped from the road, not taken from the house.

A red herring of sorts. In other words, maybe someone wanted the investigators to think that the remains were taken there and dumped from a remote location.

"Why would I kill my own granddaughter and dump her body in my own yard, that's nuts!!"

hmm..

The wooded area where the remains were found is steps away from a densely populated neighborhood-less than 1/4 mile from the Anthony home. Dogs in the neighborhood should have been going nuts. Some Websleuthers claimed a joggers ran by the spot every day.

Casey's friend KioMarie Torres directed authorities to this exact area, saying she and Casey hung out there as teenagers. At least one official search, with cadaver dogs, took place in the area. TES was there after TS Fay and lost an atv in the water. Gale St. John, a psychic with "The Bodyhunters" went there with her cadaver dog and filmed the area on August 11.

Then there is Roy Kronk, the meter reader who found the body. On August 11, 12, and 13 he supposedly called OCSO to report a suspicious bag in the area. On the 13th an officer finally responded in person but didn't find the bag. No one can explain: if Kronk saw the same bag then as he found in December, why didn't the officer find it in August?

Not to aggrivate the ire of the Ego, but I must dissent.

First - most car ac's have a internal recycle or closed vent mode to keep many such odors out.

2nd having lived in rural FL for most of my childhood, I can attest that something dead smelling in the woods is usually less than worthy of investigation, unless you're just morbid.

However that's barring being in the immediate vicinity of an abduction-murder.
... and still, people like me are called anti-Semitic… nut jobs… and of course, ‘racist’ by members of the self-chosen at any one of the sewer forums where they gather to gang rape the truth.-Les Visible

Totally agree, but, in June/July that area would have been full of water -- so, two things: under water there wouldn't be a smell, and also, it could have been moved by water. We had TS Faye this year which dumped crazy amounts of rain on the area.

But, I also agree that it's likely the body was hidden at the grandparents' house and then moved.

This is so true. We walk our dogs at night -- exercise for us, happiness for the dogs -- and get whiffs of dead things all the time. The first thing that comes to mind is Armadillo. Second thing: possum. Third thing: Raccoon. And, over the summer we totally did double takes and wondered if it wasn't the girl.

I grew up in FL, live here now -- and spent the last 20 years in TN (damn, i'm old) and, wildlife in TN (further north) is totally different. It's not nearly as in-your-face as it is here. Floridians with NC mountain cabins comment on this all the time -- where's your dang critters?

But, I think the main thing about this is that the area would have been flooded from Faye.

now, that's an interesting take. does Kronk have any relationship to the family, i wonder?

True story: The Caylee Marie Anthony tribute doll

Caylee Doll

Showbiz Promotions' Caylee inspired doll. (SHOWBIZ PROMOTIONS / January 26, 2009)

A Jacksonville promotions company plans to sell a doll as a tribute to slain toddler Caylee Marie Anthony.

The Inspirational Caylee Sunshine Doll will go on sale Tuesday for $29.99.

The blonde-haired, 18-inch doll wears jeans and a T-shirt depicting a sun and the phrase: "CAYLEE SUNSHINE." The song "You Are My Sunshine" plays when her belly button is pushed.

Jaime Salcedo, president of Showbiz Promotions, said he is not selling a doll that looks exactly like Caylee because it would be too morbid and difficult for the public.

Instead, he said, they want to honor and respect Caylee's life by bringing awareness to her case.

That is one of the sickest things I've ever heard. What's next, a Jonbenet Doll?

Just in -- a new little girl is missing from her home in FL. And her name rhymes with Caylee -- it's Haleigh. Haleigh Cummings. 5 years old. Blonde hair.

This should keep Nancy Grace employed at least for another year or so.

I don't mean to be flippant -- Of course I am concerned about the little girl. I am commenting more on the media's and Nancy Grace's exploitation of her situation. I hope she is found quickly and alive and well.

Who, other than Snidely Whiplash, would have chloroform handy for use as a nefarious sedative?

no, nevermind.

^^From either the Facebook or MySpace account (now private) of Casey's friend Ricardo Morales, who btw lived with a fellow by the name of JP Chatt, whose family is extremely wealthy. Several familiar pics of Caylee were taken in Chatt's home.

JP Chatt and Caylee?

I haven't followed this story at all until I read this post, but I just came across this video of Richard Grund in which he mentions contacting his friends in "law enforcement and military intelligence"...hmmmm. That particular quote is around the 2:22 mark.
