The board's policy being what it is - if the Breeze is more like a stench, then boycott. Let him talk to himself and whatever posse he may find here. And if the dude can ever actually muster an argument, great, let the free exchange of ideas begin. Otherwise, he's flame-bait and everybody and their fucking dog knows it. Is it so complicated? Ignore, ignore, ignore! Starve it! I realize I'm not the first or even the hundredth poster at this point to say this but it bears repeating and frankly, it's the solution. And Mac, fuck*, make sure you come back. Your ability to satisfy my personal emotional needs with regards to the stench is marvelous, but also unnecessary in the end. I value you much more for wit, insight, and righteousness across the entire spectrum.

*yes, this is a reference to Withnail and I

I sure relate to a lot of what you said. Mac has always been one of my favorite posters here. So, dammit Mac, get your arse back in here mate.

overly-emotional, overly-sensitive

whatever you do dont get emotional,
in the same month that the Greeks get stiffed by a global parasite elite, Israelis murder peace activists and the gulf is turned into dead zone by BP and the USG, whatever you do, dont get emotional,

instead take a huge portion of your time exposing the lies of the needling trolls and when you present your genuine and hard earned points of evidence and historical fact, quietly accept with grace and decorum that they have simply moved on to different lies
the question is why, who, why, what, why, when, why and why again?

actually i'll take this as my cue as well for a while,

there is a line from a film about the devil, and the greatest trick he evr pulled which i think you all know well,
i would offer that an equally great trick is to use a horror once committed, as a spell of silence, for murder and oppression without restraint in perpetuity

i will not stoop to defending my own beliefs with regard to race, other than to say that my record here speaks for itself and chiggerbits slur of anti-semitism is wrong, disgusting and offensive

the difficulty of managing this issue is enough that i dont blame jeff for the way some of this unfolds,
i do however think that barracuda and chiggerbit could have acted in a more decent way

anyway, i am taking a self-imposed break for a while, because i do feel emotional, and i cannot stomach the comments of anyone who is allowed to defend mass-oppression and murder
the question is why, who, why, what, why, when, why and why again?

You know, that is probably the best thing to do when heated up & I totally understand that.

I worked at a vitamin & supplement company years ago & a South Afrikan fellow I worked with had some pretty horrendous things to say about the situation in Israel. We were all having a conversation in the lunch room about the Israeli/Palestinian conflict & his answer was, verbatim, "Israel should drop a nuke on them". I was absolutely flushed with anger. I looked at him, picked up my lunch & moved to another table. I really liked the bloke & got along well with him, but after that, although polite & cordial, I spoke little to him. There are just some people there is no conversing with, it's like banging your head against a wall.

Hopefully the self imposed break isn't too long, though. Tension seems high at RI...

That sounds like a great idea. Wonder through the outback there and realize life goes on, regardless of how many people got killed today, where ever. You can't cry and kick up a fuss about killin'. Killin' is what people do. Maybe its what we do best. The sooner you accept that, the happier you'll be.

Ok, I'm sorry, because I probably should have qualified my statement more. I've always held your contributions in high respect, and as a result, may have held you to a higher standard than the usual. But I'm not going to give you a total pass, as I don't hold with the notion that emotion gives a person a free pass.

Come back soon.

I have always appreciated your commentary as well, smiths. MacCruiskeen too, for that matter, as I'm certain he knows. But I understand needing to comply with the requirements of your conscience. If you can't hang, you can't hang. But thanks at least for the backhand on your way out the door. I'm sure at some point, I'll figure out what it was for. Until then, I'll have to savor the sting of it as a puzzle to me.

The thing is it is just a discussion board, I dont understand why everyone has to get so worked up, say what you want to say and be done with it, I am sure many of us who disagree in these threads will agree on many more things in other threads, in the end it all works out and good discussion can be enjoyed by all.

You must admit, though, that the subject at hand is a very volatile one. Emotions do run high, on both ends.

Mac means shill/troll. The second one's rude, the first one's verboten.

Huh. Seems a bit disingenuous coming from this guy

But nice way to give Mac a sneaky ass-boot on his way out.

chiggerbit, I was referring to the heated opinions being presented on the board rather than the Israeli/Palestinian conflict. Not sure what you're getting at...
