So it seems possible that whoever subscribed was intending to monitor this guy's channel, and didn't fully realize that the subscriptions box was on their own channel's homepage...
Seems to indicate that they had some contact with the shooter, and were probably concerned about him being a potential threat.
I hope they find his controller (maybe the bluejeans, blue jacket guy).

This was apparently his taxi driver.
Police said they were also looking for a white male approximately 40-50 years old with dark hair, possibly associated with the primary suspect. On the morning of January 9, they released a security-camera photo in which he appears.[40] Later that day, Pima County Sheriff's Deputy Jason Ogan said the man was a cab driver who drove the gunman to the grocery store where the shooting occurred. Ogan said the man went into the store because the gunman apparently had not paid his fare, and that the Sheriff's department had determined that the cab driver was not otherwise involved in the shooting.

If this subscription happened around the time of the event its quite possible people knew who he was and his youtube channel and checked to see if he'd left a last message.
This killing gets weirder by the second, and its catching the imagination the way 9/11 did.

right wing bullshit to smear the sheriff, who's said some very accurate things about right-wing media personalities.
Jared Loughner has been making death threats by phone to many people in Pima County including staff of Pima Community College, radio personalities and local bloggers.
