Goldman Sachs will be tried this Thursday, November 3, for crimes against the American public. Cornel West, noted civil rights activist, and Chris Hedges, Pulitzer Prize winner, will be among those presiding, and testimony for the prosecution will include individuals who have been directly affected and harmed by the actions of Goldman Sachs. The trial is open to the public, and if you can't make it? Tune in to WBAI (99.5 FM in New York) or online at http://www.wbai.org this Thursday, from 10 AM to 12 noon, where it will be broadcast live. If the government won't do it? We'll take it into our own hands.
OMG!!! I would love to be there for that!!

Anyone here up for reporting on that for us far away peeps here? *on knees* "Please God (if there is a God) let it be livestreamed.."

I'm gonna try to escape my job for this, but Zuccotti Park isn't that big, and it's crowded as hell with tents, and people, so i'm not sure that I'll be able to get close enough to the "trial" to provide much in the way of details, although I definitely will try.

This is going on right now.

West is presenting his opening argument.

I tried to get close enough to hear it, but they're speaking in their normal voices into microphones, so you really can't hear what they're saying unless you're right on top of them.

I got a few photos that I'll post later, but for now I'm just listening here.

Hedges is waxing on about the power of human empathy.

Maybe the PTB finally deployed the Black Bloc?

Peaceful Occupy protests degenerate into chaos

AP

OAKLAND, Calif. - A day of demonstrations in Oakland that began as a significant step toward expanding the political and economic influence of the Occupy Wall Street movement, ended with police in riot gear arresting dozens of protesters who had marched through downtown to break into a vacant building, shattering windows, spraying graffiti and setting fires along the way.

"We go from having a peaceful movement to now just chaos," said protester Monique Agnew, 40.

The far-flung movement of protesters challenging the world's economic systems and distribution of wealth has gained momentum in recent weeks, capturing the world's attention by shutting down one of the nation's busiest shipping ports toward the end of a daylong "general strike" that prompted solidarity rallies across the U.S.

About 3,000 people converged on the Port of Oakland, the nation's fifth-busiest harbor, in a nearly five-hour protest Wednesday, swarming the area and blocking exits and streets with illegally parked vehicles and hastily-erected, chain-link fences.

Q: Are you advocating for reform or for revolution?

Once the police arrived, the crowd told the police of the drivers’ deception, and the pair sheepishly switched back to their original seats.

What a disgusting, squirming, cowardly little turd. Not to mention idiotic. Did he really think he wouldn't get called out on his craven switch-a-roo? It does make me wonder exactly who this is, though.

Well, whatever. The police let them go, didn't even conduct a breathalyzer test.

Chris Hedges was also arrested at Goldman Sachs today

And from Boots Riley, re Oakland, via FB just now:

Everyone has their opinions about what happened last night, but don't let the media stoke divisions in the movement.
I'm addressing this to everyone.
A huge part of the reason we won yesterday is due to people that you disagree with tactically.

No other movement has pulled something like this off. This is the time when they will try to minimize and divide.
