I'm interested in the fact that a teacher at St. George's (one of the BC schools that received a body part package) was to be sentenced after a guilty plea for possession and I think distribution of child pornography on May 24th. I can find no record of this sentencing hearing although the case was pretty big news out West, I think. Apparently this teacher and member of Canada's Field Hockey team was caught as part of an internation child porn ring bust.

The victim's head is still missing. I read in a paper today that the hand and foot sent to the schools in BC are Jun Lin's.

I saw a picture of the victim and felt so sad, seeing a nice young man like that, well liked and I dunno, the whole thing is just horrible.

Police in Montreal announced on Sunday that they discovered what appears to be a human head in a city park and are now trying to determine whether it is the missing head of the Chinese student who was dismembered and cannibalized by a Canadian porn actor.

The suspect, 29-year-old Luka Magnotta, is accused of killing and chopping up his lover, 33-year-old Jun Lin, and then mailing the body parts to political parties and schools. Lin's head is the only remaining body part unaccounted for.

Last month, Magnotta pleaded not guilty to five charges against him, including first-degree murder.

Montreal police spokesperson Anie Lemieux said investigators made their way to Park Angrignon on Sunday afternoon after the major crimes unit received a tip about a suspicious item spotted on the shore of a lake.

The park is located just a few miles south of Magnotta's apartment where the gruesome murder took place.

A large number of police officers and detectives were on the scene Sunday and a forensic identification truck was seen in the park, the Toronto Sun reported.

The entire area was closed to the public.

Lemieux said they must wait for tests results over the next few days to confirm if there is any link and whether it is in fact a body part.

Police have been questioning Magnotta with the hope that they would find out the location of the head. The family of Lin has been seeking closure.

Investigators say Magnotta, posted a video online showing him stabbing a naked, bound man with an ice pick and then having sex with his dismembered corpse. A second, unedited version of the video seen by police shows him eating parts of the body.

The case became known when a package containing a severed foot was found at Canada's ruling Conservative Party headquarters on May 29. That same day, a hand was discovered at a postal facility, addressed to the Liberal Party of Canada.

Lin's torso was found in a suitcase at a garbage dump in Montreal outside Magnotta's apartment building.

About a week later, a missing foot and hand were found mailed to two schools in Vancouver. Police said notes were included in most of the packages but declined to say what they said.

Vancouver Deputy Police Chief Warren Lemcke said last month that a package containing what appeared to be a human hand was opened by staff at False Creek Elementary School on June 5.

Another package containing what appeared to be a human foot was found by staff at St. George's private school for boys later in the day.

DNA tests later confirmed that the body parts that were mailed to the school belonged to Lin.

Magnotta, who fled to Europe before the body was discovered, spent a few days partying in Paris before taking a bus to Berlin, where he was caught last month following a massive manhunt as he read stories about himself at an Internet cafe.

He did not contest his extradition from Germany and arrived in Montreal on June 18 on a Canadian military plane.

As they unraveled his background, police discovered that Magnotta changed his name from Eric Clinton Newman in 2006 and that he was born in Scarborough, Ontario. He is also known as Vladimir Romanov. Police said he has 70 Facebook accounts under different names.

Magnotta's original arrest warrant cited first-degree murder, committing an indignity to a dead body, publishing an obscene matter, mailing obscene matter and criminally harassing Prime Minister Stephen Harper and other members of Parliament.

The 29-year-old bisexual porn actor is being kept in solitary confinement pending a preliminary hearing scheduled for March 13, 2013. The ten-day hearing will be preceded by a pre-trial hearing in January.

During his court appearance on June 21, Magnotta has asked for a trial by judge and jury, but didn't request a psychiatric assessment, as some expected he would, according to CBC News.

Peel police acting inspector Randy Cowan said officers discovered the head Thursday morning in the Credit river in Mississauga.

Cowan said it's not clear whether the foot belongs to a man or a woman, but investigators believe it was severed in recent weeks. Police have not said if the foot and head are from the same person.

"Without a cause of death we can't call it homicide, but certainly foul play, there's definitely something amiss," said Cowan.

The right foot was found in the Credit river near the Hewick Meadows Park by hikers and the police marine unit found the head later Thursday.

Police can't yet say if the body parts were placed there or were transported there by the water from some other point in the river, which flows from headwaters above the Niagara Escarpment to Lake Ontario.

I second the increasing grisliness of the recent finds, but there is something more unsettling about the way the finds are presented in the media, the events that precede them and the dates the parts are found on.

1) Evidence being chanced upon by a newspaper reporter supposedly photographing the ongoing search

2) Unusually poor taste in puns being given out by the newscaster describing the finds on CBC Evening Newsworld 8/18/2012. The newscaster presenting the feature that evening is a visibly gay Asian male (allusion to murdered alleged partner of Luka Magnotta, whom media are no longer mentioning). Piece was aired in the Quebec market, where the alleged murderer and his victim met.

3) Strange facial expressions of police officials in press conference that appear to be withholding of laughter or smirking in the above newscast. The masonic expression "hoodwink" came to my mind on viewing Peel Regional police headgear emblazened with the five-pointed star.

3) Police reported saying they have no need to "search further" in a featured piece, then the piece being edited to remove that remark, http://www.thestar.com/news/gta/crime/article/1243969--body-parts-scarborough-remains-are-human-probably-same-person-in-mississauga. The earlier piece implies police are close to identifying the victim, while the edited piece implied more time is needed.

4) Unusual story earlier that week about Canada's PM picnicking at a park near the river where the first find was made.

Regarding the 4th point, for the Canadian PM's security detail to be aware enough to know where to position themselves. to stop a Kayaker from coming within meters of the picnic downstream. but to somehow have missed a human head in the same area puzzles me. Recall the body part's mailed were addressed to the HQ of his political party.

Any Canucks with deep state insight into why this charade is continuing and what might be the motivation of the apparent psyop?

That was distinctly odd. Since the Scarborough remains were so far removed from the original findings, and the discoveries so accidental, it's given me the thought that if we were to ever exhaustively search for body parts they'd be turning up everywhere.

(The doc is very high production and clearly received full cooperation from international authorities.)

^^I watched it, and it's slick and entertaining (and disturbing), but considering Netflix's track record of leaving out inconvenient facts I'd go with a large pinch of salt. The most interesting part that was brought up and then dismissed was his (and his mother's) claim to only have done it because he was pressured by and terrified of a dangerous and rich client. Said client is even mentioned by name, but I can't remember it right now.

Btw: for anyone wary of animal cruelty, they do not show the videos in full, they cut away before the cats are hurt, but it's still pretty disturbing.

Personally I'd like to see a bit more thorough investigation into this claim before dismissing it.

Yeah. Clearly Luka wasn't quite right in the head, but their basis for dismissing Manny Lopez like they did was pretty flimsy. They did no follow-up on it at all. Shouldn't be that hard to establish if he at least is a real person.
