Regardless of what is causing what the people in charge of "repairing it" are a bunch of crooks that will further damage the environment as they become carbon billionaires. This list includes the hoard of government granted scientists doing what they are told to do, instead of what scientific rigor would guide them to do. The whole game stinks.

I was wondering through all this Rio Olympic coverage that I have watched very little of, why I have seen absolutely no mention of the deforestation of the Amazon? It used to be big news and one would think would be front and center for those not down with the deportes.

This is so stupid and mindlessly simplistic it makes my brain hurt (why am I not surprised?). You don't have a fucking clue what you're talking about.

Climate scientists don't do what they're told to do. They fight tooth and nail to get what little grant money they can get their hands on (which btw does not go into their pockets. It goes towards paying for the research they do. Their paychecks come from the institutions they work for), then they do their research and then all their rivals (the people they're competing against for the grant money) try their damnedest to rip their research apart. If the research stands up to that it gets published.

If the government tried to dictate the results of their research every serious scientist would tell them to go fuck themselves, because the "research" would be useless and a waste of time, and if someone actually went out and did it anyway they would be utterly savaged by their colleagues and their career would be over.

Also, if a scientist could disprove climate change with solid research they would be showered in money and Nobel prizes.

Tl;dr: Stop with your trolling bullshit. Please just leave. Go join WND or something - it would raise the average IQ of both forums (or this one at least).

Sorry dude, but, I reserve the right to doubt Al Gore's increasingly headed to carbon billionaire status right along with his government funded cronies. This cynical nature keeps me in the target zone more often than not, in more ways than one. Thinking in opposites has value.

And not thinking at all has no value. Again - piss off with your trolling bullshit and go educate yourself. If you have a problem with the science then say so and link to your sources, and stop banging on about Al Gore - it's completely fucking irrelevant. At least come up with some trolling that wasn't worn out ten years ago (preferably in text form and not yet another dumb fuck random youtuber).

Oh yeah I forgot.... The fact that Al Gore was trolling all along, and has a huge personal carbon footprint, and is getting rich is only "trolling" these days...interesting. Noticing is trolling. I will try to remember not to notice these things. :partyhat

That is because his advice on natural medicine, herbs and spices, are in line with the rest of the natural medicine world including the Chinese who have a long history with natural medicine. His politics are another story and I have not studied those.

His advice on the use of herbs and spices as medicine is pretty damn accurate though. Of course a person would have to actually STUDY AND USE these natural products to know it, and you don't have to buy it from him and his higher than necessary price company, because he charges wayyyyy too much.

It ain't rocket science really, it is not. Big Pharma built it's sorry edifice attempting to mimic the healing ability of plants and failed miserably on purpose because patenting mother nature is frowned on, at least for time being. Myself and many I know are proof of this. I don't know what his politics are but if you look at the studies (and actually understand how to read and interpret medical studies) his information is in line with the rest of the natural medicine world.

This is very beneficial information in spite of the fact that he is price gouging his customers.

Note I am not very sympathetic to your stance nor sources.

I spent time as a federally funded research scientist where the research has major direct application to the ecological aspects of carbon sequestration of forested landscapes.

DrEvil made a good description of the research world.

RI is a better place if you put on "ignore". Then you can more easily ignore his ignorance.

Quickest way to ignorance is to ignore an opposite opinion and live in the "liminal space". (the lost zone)

To each his own. :)

I've tried blocking people before, *cough*BenD*cough*, but I just can't help myself, I have to read it out of morbid fascination and despair at how ignorant some people can be.

backtoiam: Natural News' "politics" is that he's called on people to murder GMO proponents. The site is garbage and the guy running it is nuts (and has a nice sideline in selling email spamming software).

PS! If you stretch your mind too far it breaks.
