Offside

Post by Allegro »

.
Strangers is the first in a trilogy of short films
by Erez Tadmor & Guy Nattiv regarding the Middle East conflict.
  • Offside is the second in the trilogy, and the scene is
in the security zone between Israel and the Palestine Authority.
Unfortunately, violence is in this film.
Art will be the last bastion when all else fades away.

Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds wake in the day to find that all was vanity; but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act their dream with open eyes, and make it possible. -- Lawrence of Arabia

I remember this freaking me and all my friends out when we were children.

Spoiler:Whats refreshing is the relative lack of care people had back in 70s with picking up hitchhikers! Especially seriously weird ones.

and I hate to admit it, one of my first experiences with viral TV, this time freaking out me and my college friends. Sort of Orson Welles for TV, looks quite ludicrous now:

The Prosperity Gospel | Prosperity Theology

Post by Allegro »

.
    • YOUTUBE NOTES.
The Global Conversation focuses on the prosperity
gospel—the teaching that true Christian faith results in
material wealth and physical well-being. While it has
its roots in America, it has found fertile soil on other
continents as well. To accompany the lead article in
Christianity Today by Ghanaian scholar Kwabena
Asamoah-Gyadu, director Nathan Clarke went to
Ghana to explore the forms the prosperity gospel
takes in that West African nation.

"O Oysters," said the Carpenter,
"You've had a pleasant run!
Shall we be trotting home again?'
But answer came there none--
And this was scarcely odd, because
They'd eaten every one.
