most people that pay attention will end up feeling exactly like this. It hit me years ago. with the country renegade, out of control, and being looted, i think the only moral action any "citizen" could take at this point is non-compliance. a person won't get anything out of it but a beating and possibly imprisonment and death. the purpose of doing it would be the hope that 90% or more of the citizens would join in and the "gov" would be brought to heel that way. but don't do it hoping for a result. only do it in the spirit of martyrdom. But, this end was foretold when we left our principles and thought statism would work for us where it never has before..stickdog99 wrote:Could I be more cynical about the current state of politics in the USA?
Both major parties are headed by banal, braindead, talentless clowns.
Both majors parties almost exclusively serve our oligarchs.
Both major parties support endless wars, genocide, constant spying on all innocent citizens, the continued looting and decimation of the middle class, and total oligopolistic capture of every single social institution, especially healthcare.
Republicans add to that list the desire to impose austerity on us in the name of bankers and restrict women's bodily autonomy in the name of God.
Democrats add to that list the desire to impose austerity on us in the name of climate change, restrict our bodily autonomy in the name of Big Pharma, and repeal the First and Second Amendments.
Both parties are wholly owned by Israel, Wall Street, Big Pharma, the military-industrial complex, and various other oligopolists.
The "choice" is no longer between the lesser of two evils but the yes, sirs of true evil.
Of course, I am forgetting a lot, but am I missing something?

Kamala is mentioned as a peace bringer in Star Trek. She is played by Famke Jansen who is born on the 5th of November the day of the US election.

Great catch from Jake. In the episode, Kamala (Famke Jenssen) is essentially a high class prostitute engineered from birth to service powerful men and is brought out of stasis by evil Ferenghi.

Trump jamming out to YMCA at his town hall which he just turned into a concert.
There will never be another like him.
Donald Trump’s campaign wants its candidate to talk more about policy, but on Monday night it was all about the music.
Trump was in Oaks, Pennsylvania, to host the type of town hall event his advisers hope will keep the former president on track talking both about his policy positions and those of his opponent, Vice President Kamala Harris. But the evening quickly took a bizarre turn after two rallygoers had medical issues.
Rather than continue after paramedics assisted the two people, Trump instructed his staff to just play music from a playlist he has personally curated and famously often turns on during dinners at Mar-a-Lago.
“Who the hell wants to hear questions?” Trump said at the event where the entire point was to take audience questions. “Right?”
What followed was more than 30 minutes of Trump swaying on stage and occasionally doing his well-known two-handed dance to some of his favorite tunes, chatting with the event's host, South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem, and occasionally interacting with attendees who were seated behind the stage.
hoping your favorite wins? not at all. that's only natural. Is it bad

Every time I peek in the Dem information silo is a revelation. Kamala's a tiger! Tim's killing it! The Cheneys are gamechangers! I've never seen a better run campaign!
And I don't know whether their fantasies will be shattered or dramatized, which is the craziest part.
