She's Cosmic

Image

I must have died and gone to heaven
'cos it was a quarter past eleven on a saturday in 1999
Right across from where I'm standing
on the dance floor she was landing
it was clear that she was from another town
like some baby Barbarella with the stars as her umbrella
she asked me if I'd like to magnetise
Do I have to go star-trekking
'cos it's you I should be checking
so she lazer beamed me with her cosmic eyes
She's just a cosmic girl from another galaxy
My heart's at zero gravity
She's from a cosmic world putting me in ecstasy
transmitting on my frequency
She's cosmic
I'm scanning all my radars
well she said she's from a quasar fourty thousand milion light years away
It's a distant solar system
tried to phone but they don't list 'em
so I asked her for a number all the same
She said 'step in my transorter
so I can teleport ya all around my heavenly body'
This could be a close encounter
I should take care not to flounder
Sends me into hyper space
when I see her pretty face.
She's just a cosmic girl from another galaxy
My heart's at zero gravity
She's from a cosmic world putting me in ecstasy
transmitting on my frequency
She's cosmic
Sends me into hyperspace when I see her pretty face
She's just a cosmic girl from another galaxy
My heart's at zero gravity
She's from a cosmic world putting me in ecstasy
transmitting on my frequency
yeah cosmic, oh can't you be my cosmic woman?
I need you I want you to be my cosmic girl
for the rest of time

Mazars and Deutsche Bank could have ended this nightmare before it started.
They could still get him out of office.
But instead, they want mass death.
Don’t forget that.

Thanks Sunny, kudo's on not making any enemies that i'm aware of, no small feat for any holder of power.

Since we're such a warm and furry community we should decide on our new moderator by .. consensus

We need a moderator that will warn folk that repeated insinuations against other board posters are not welcome.

In any way shape or form.

That is one of the reasons I wouldn't have nominated Hugh.

I think we should have a range of nominations, Jeff's call on a short list, and then a vote of some kind maybe? Democracy in action?

I nominate Canadian_watcher, if she'll have it.

We elect Senators for 6 years and have to live with the consequences of our choices for that long. Is that Democracy in action?

Create a short list of serious wannabes, and give them all a 3 month term to prove themselves.

Term limits have their advantages.

Hey, who do you think is a troll round here today? Come on, spit it out.

I'd like to know. I hate it when folk start making insinuations of that kind.

I don't think my posts are trollish at all.

You see, you are starting off my paranoia all over again. Now I think you are calling me a troll. Please clear up this potential misunderstanding immediately. Do you think I'm a troll?

Perhaps this underscores why we need good moderation.

Or perhaps it just underscores why I should learn to ignore wintler2.

I think this is on-topic since we are talking about moderation.

I'll ask you again wintler2. Do you want me to leave these forums?

Term limits might be a good idea, but doesn't a moderator job often come with its own shelf-life (a.k.a. burnout)?

Cheers sunny.

You're awesome.

I think Hugh'd make a safe choice. He's already shown his willingness and ability to follow a rule with which he disagrees (not mentioning 'keyword hijacking' more than once in a thread) which is a vital quality in a moderator. He's had more testing in that regard than any other candidate that comes to mind. I also agree with Hugh that preventing argument from turning into ad hominem attacks is a moderator's most important task.

I agree with the furry one and would vote for Hugh. Maybe not if he was the only mod, but with Jeff and 'cuda I think it could work. If he wants to do it.

Off-topic. Again. No i don't particularly want you to leave RI, i do want you to stop polluting threads with your uninformed assertions, your banal metaphysical meanderings, and your me-me-me. Feel free to argue, but on another thread, ay? Lets not deface Sunnys mod-role sendoff any further.

Hey, why not wintler2, he has such a benign temperament, totally without prejudice, polite, tolerant, amiable, and his invariable zenlike emotional detachment on all issues is notable.

Of course some of these attributes may not be appropriate as a mod does need to make some tough calls at times, and a big softie may let the trolls run riot.

Still all things considered, I nominate wintler2.

I like to listen and learn, and be helpful.

wintler2 wrote:(S)top polluting threads with your uninformed assertions, your banal metaphysical meanderings, and your me-me-me.

Seeing as you asked me so nicely, I shall courteously agree to never post in any thread you ever start.

And I'll tell you what wintler2, as an added bonus I shall be happy to never address you again in any way shape or form. So long as you don't defame me or any of my friends again, of course. Then I shall make my objections public again.

Seems like a fair deal to me.

Actually I rather liked "banal metaphysical meanderings." That's quite a good summation, really. And with regard to the me me me, well to be quite honest when I post what usually comes out is a crazed stream of consciousness ramble that would benefit more from deletion than editing. I do just delete a great deal by the way. I'm sure its for the best. So, you know, you got me there.

Ouch.

I'll take this opportunity once again to apologise to all and sundry for my many clearly visible character deficiencies, and for my lack of originality, intelligence or indeed talent of any kind. And I really mean that. I simply ask that I be allowed to humbly add my posts to this beautiful community.

:)

More thanks to Sunny! Hugs and kisses too! Actually, you're the one who's kept me here all these years. Seriously.

So I don't want to derail your thread. I'm being self indulgent, I know, but I've been of a mind to post more lately.

Besides which, I'm quite happy to leave the question of who shall be moderator(s) entirely down to Jeff.

I sure as hell don't want the job!

I don't know about Hugh. He's very anti-woo, and tends to classify as woo some topics that I don't know a lot about and enjoy reading discussions on, like UFOs and crop circles and so on. I wouldn't like to see those conversations stifled, especially since they have got a lot rarer over the last year or so.

smiths? He's online a lot, and likes to see the conversations remain focussed and informative.
