A note sent with a severed foot to Conservative Party headquarters in Ottawa indicated that more body parts had been sent through the post, and that the person who dismembered the victim would kill again
U.S. lawyer says he tipped cops to death video
By Joe Warmington ,Toronto Sun
TORONTO - While a Canada-wide warrant for the arrest of alleged murderer Luka Magnotta was issued Wednesday, a Montana man says he had information that could have given police a four-day head start.
"I was on the bestgore.com website and I saw what I was sure was a videotaped murder," lawyer Roger Renville said. "It's a shock video website normally with crime scene photos or stuff about al-Qaida so this was shocking."
He immediately starting phoning police departments to report it.
The only problem, Renville said, is no one at Toronto Police would listen to him.
"I called the Toronto Police at 416-808-2222 Sunday at noon and tried to report the video," he said. "I told them I am not a kook but a 51-year-old attorney."
Instead of getting a thank you, he said he got a condescending tone from an officer who blew him off.
"He said, 'It can't be real. They have pretty good special effects these days.' I said to him 'look at the video." I asked him if I could send the link and he said he wouldn't be needing that."
Renville said the officer went further, saying "does it make any sense to commit a murder and record it?"
...
He said he had much the same experience with the RCMP, Miami and Denver police, as well as reporters at Toronto media outlets.
"The way I saw it was a murder had clearly taken place and I can't even get one person interested," he said.

Canada police launch manhunt for porn actor in severed body parts case
A porn actor is wanted in a gruesome case of dismembered body parts that were mailed to different places including the headquarters of the Conservative Party of Canada, police said.
9:33AM BST 31 May 2012
Canadian police named a suspect in a gruesome murder case involving a dismembered torso, mailed-out body parts, and what one senior officer said was the worst crime scene his force has ever seen.
Montreal police released a photograph of a man they said is Luka Rocco Magnotta, who they said also uses the pseudonyms Eric Clinton Newman and Vladimir Romanov, and asked people across Canada to help locate him.
A man identified as Luka Rocco Magnotta appears on several internet sites, with photos that match those of the man in the police mug shots. The sites make references to Magnotta as the man shown in Internet videos allegedly suffocating kittens and feeding one to a python.

Other websites describe Magnotta as a male model and a bisexual actor in porn films.
"I'll tell you one thing. For most of the officers that have been there all night, this is a crime scene they've never seen in their life, in their career, so yes, I can consider that as a horrible crime," Montreal police Commander Ian Lafreniere said after investigators searched an apartment at an undisclosed Montreal location.
In the first gory discovery in the case, a severed foot was mailed to the headquarters of the governing Conservative Party in Ottawa. A hand was intercepted in the mail, also in Ottawa.
"The odour coming from the package was just horrible and I'm sure many of us will never forget it," said Fred DeLorey, a Conservative Party spokesman.
Then a torso was found in a suitcase in a garbage pile in Montreal.
Police Commander Lafreniere said Magnotta and the as-yet-unidentified victim knew each other but offered no details.

Things have very rapidly gone insane here in Canada. Its very unusual. I guess this freak will replace those awful child murderers dominating and distracting in the headlines now.
Jeff, you REALLY MUST blog about this transformation of Canada into this bizarre and violent new landscape. You are uniquely qualified to speak to it. Its important. It is actually important for you to write about this. You're simply too good, too valuable, to let this moment pass without comment.

The video was titled "1 Lunatic 1 Ice Pick" and was posted to a website called "Best Gore" on May 25. More info here, but it's even more brutal. The video received 257 comments, like, "what's with the shitty music?"

I did not think that so many people would provide the link to the '1icepick' video to each other. I didn't think that 'normal' young women and men would be interested in this sort of thing at all. I thought this was a deep underground type of 'entertainment' (I can barely type that word in reference to this). You know, I thought of it like child porn - something only complete sickos would ever dare to even let buffer.
I pray my daughter doesn't click on any of the ubiquitous links ...
