Ashgate Publishing had a hardcover scholarly tome but it was sadly sold out before I started working for them.

They publish a lot of obscure gems, especially in terms of parapolitics and weird history.

I was especially bummed since the tome in question was edited by James Lewis, who has been doing really exceptional work in the field of "cult studies" for decades -- rigorous, objective, nuanced history / sociology work.

I will see if I can track down a print PDF.

Extremely weird details recounted therein regarding holograms and technological trickery in the inner sanctum(s) of the Solar Temple; the father of that infant who was murdered was supposedly in charge of creating the illusions.

The more I look at it, taking several different approaches and taking into account information from a bunch of other places, it seems like the craziness in the Order of the Solar Temple owed a lot to Joseph Di Mambro's background with the AMORC. Just some speculation; I'm sure their modern-day incarnation would vociferously disagree.

Maybe it would be more accurate to say: whoever the poisonous influence was, they certainly had a strong interest in the AMORC people's activities
