Senate Confirms Kennedy, a Prominent Vaccine Skeptic, as Health Secretary
The vote capped a remarkable rise for Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who was confirmed by a Republican Senate in a chamber where his father and uncles once served as Democrats.

@ggreenwald
The Secretary of Health and Human Services is a life-long Democrat and environmental lawyer, who spent his life fighting corporate waste dumping and regulatory capture by Big Pharma.
Yet every Dem voted NO, with Liz Warren upset that suing drug companies cuts their profits
And then:
New EO on the WH website:
"It is the policy of my Administration that discretionary Federal funds should not be used to directly or indirectly support or subsidize an educational service agency, State educational agency, local educational agency, elementary school, secondary school, or institution of higher education that requires students to have received a COVID-19 vaccination to attend any in-person education program."

This was one of RFK Jr.’s first orders after being sworn in.
Just an astonishing denial of science and will cause so much pain to the 45 million Americans facing mental health challenges.

@calleymeans
It’s hard to be shocked, but this is one of the most jaw dropping statements a modern Senator has ever made.
We have a mental health catastrophe, and you’re worried that Bobby is being too hard on SSRI’s - which have been a cautostauphic failure as a catchall treatment for depression.
The current standard of care for depression should be urgently studied.

Re: @calleymeans --
I've spoken to SSRI activists who have begged her for years to look at the data showing they are dangerous. She has refused to ever speak to them or look at the data (whereas MN's other senator did). @SenTinaSmith has gotten $900,047 from medical donors & PACs

No illusions that Tulsi and RFK Jr are about to shatter the military-pharmaceutical complex, but their appointments should make America, if not great or healthy, then better. And I can't think of any previous nominees I could have said that about.
