My guess is that Cuda just hit the BACK BUTTON to get to your post after you edited, he could have just hit his back button and got to the page that was there before you edited it?

Not sure though, just an educated guess.

1- how was barracuda able to repost what i had deleted in my edit? i suppose he could make a copy of every post when it is made just in case they get edited. but my post was only up for about 30 minutes so he must be effecient.

2- do some people, non-moderators, have special editing rights?

3- if barracuda was reposting for me, on general principle, why not repost everything i wrote.

I had several tabs open, one of which contained your first post. The rest were lost even to my history function in Safari, so I couldn't get them back, or i would have posted them as well, because I found all three to be pertinent. Just another example of my superpowers.

Great, and here I was going to post a quote from Leo Tolstoy; now you're going to have read the whole thing, and look for the highlighted text (hint: it's somewhere around page 400, but it's very pertinent to the discussion[if that's what we're still trying to call it]).

By the by, Project Willow, you deserve one of these:

but no one wants to answer as to why Barracuda, as of late last week, still had moderator privileges that I and at least two other people here can prove outright?
right?

I've noticed that the 'group' has avoided this completely while simultaneously having the audacity to imply that I've ignored their posts.

My best guess would have something to do with Benghazi.

it's odd that so many defenders of the faith appear and just the right moment, methinks.

There are truly gifted people here who remain engaged despite such silliness, but the cost to benefit ratio, is dwindling everyday.

Have to agree.

simulist wrote:Because of this I sincerely hope Jeff and his staff are listening, and that we can find a viable solution to these matters quite soon.

The only solution really is what you see riddler, c2w, Barracuda and others not so prominent or indefatigable do on a regular basis, which is call the bullshit, point out the errors in logic and reason, bring discussions back around to facts, ask for supporting citations and documentation, etc...

More rules is no good. Appeals to jeff and the mods to make them or spend more time here policing the ones we already have is onerous.

It is largely up to us. I don't have the patience for it generally and it's not what I would choose to do with the time I have to spend here. But that's how I see it.

Its an interesting question but I dont know anything about who moderators are and were etc and how all that works, you probably know more than I do.

not directed at you, Alchemy. I see the trouble with the editing stuff - could go either way, but I do KNOW what I know wrt barracuda still having mod status as of late last week - And so do others.

I'm not ignoring the accusation.

I just don't understand why the post-editing part of it would have required special privileges.

And the being listed as a mod wrt blocking seems like an admin thing that he isn't responsible for and doesn't gain any powers from, per se.

But maybe I'm missing something.

Have you reported it to the (active-duty) mods?.
