BRAVO I am humbled and writhing with apology. Sharing the information about Jani's hypothalamus is the missing link. Now your critics know that there is a physiological basis for Jani's struggle and with that info we all see a different story, and a beautifully written one at that. I do hope that you write a book as a story of success and hope, that is the theme here. You have also been wildly successful with your stated goals of finding other parents and creating a blog environment where people who have suffered through serious problems with their children can write out their angst. Again, BRAVO.

It's a lot more difficult to admit you hit a kid because her hypothalamus wasn't acting right, than it is to admit you hit a kid because she was "out of her mind with schizophrenia".

Despite a number of inspiring posts, there is also some real nonsense in this thread and it would be painfully easy to ignore the important commentary via ad hom.

And it's "all about the little girl" isn't it? Seems to me some of the people on the Jani threads just want a darned good scrap. The morality cops in sensible shoes. I think you should volunteer to take Jani for a weekend, off meds, and if you have a baby she might try to punch out, well, it's all about getting her off drugs, isn't it, so it's just got to be worth it. And there's no use even suggesting you might be a bit off base, let alone completely wrong....because that would be trollish. Wouldn't it?

It makes me sick to think of a child taken out of a troubled but loving environment and placed in emergency foster care, because of busybodies who can't for the life of them leave well enough alone....because they have never experienced anything remotely like this themselves

Good, the thread SICK has been moved. I was going to have Mac, try to defend herself against a charge with nothing behind it. Shoe on the other foot. Perhaps it was going too far, but this is what is happening to Micheal. Sure, suggest an advocate for the whole family. They need one. The parents are burned out...but don't demonize them.

Oh dear...I'm beginning to wonder if this little girl isn't channeling some sort of evil entity. Just look at the level of animosity being expressed on the subject, and the number of pages devoted to this issue. Very strange.
