come on, do I really even need to make the case? Of course you shouldn't be ignoring someone just because you often don't agree. fast scan, or skip past, but ignore?

I think there would still be plenty of spirited debate between honest people with differing opinions.


Sorry to take the thread even further afield, but there are other reasons to put someone on ignore besides not often or even ever agreeing with them.

Oh, I don't ignore lightly. It takes a long long time of putting up with someone before I do it. The only other person here I had on ignore was HMW. And of course it only works slightly because you always see the quotes from the ignored post in the indignant and sputtering follow-ups when people react.

A thread de-rail can't be ignored. Unfortunately. Unless you ignore the whole thread.
