NBC News has uncovered new details surrounding the raid on Osama bin Laden's compound by Navy SEALS.

U.S. officials now say that three of the four men shot and killed during the raid were unarmed... including bin Laden, himself. According to officials the first team of Navy SEALS moved into the compound and took small arms fire from the guest house. They returned fire, killing bin Laden's courier. The courier's wife was also killed in the crossfire.
A second SEAL team entered the main residence. Making their way to bin Laden's bedroom on the third floor, the U.S. commandos encountered two men. Both were unarmed and were shot dead. One was bin Laden's 19-year-old son, Hamza. Making their way to the third floor the SEAL team also encountered stashes of weapons and barricades.
Upon reaching the third floor they burst into bin Laden's bedroom. One of bin Laden's wives rushed the SEAL team. She was shot in the leg. The same commando then turned his gun on bin Laden and delivered two shots - one to the chest and one to the head.
U.S. officials are now characterizing this operation, not as a firefight... but as a precision clearing operation.
UPDATE 2:There will doubtless be more backtracking and backfilling and sidestepping and subconscious mythologizing in the days to come. For it turns out that the crack crew of American agents left a whole group of eyewitnesses to the operation behind -- including the 12-year-old daughter of bin Laden, who saw her father killed -- and was also wounded in the attack.
As the Guardian reports, at least 10 people were left behind after the raid -- presumably because the raiding party did not have room to cart them off after losing one of their helicopters before the kill. Pakistani officials found the survivors -- including bin Laden's wife and the wounded daughter -- when they arrived on the scene just after the American exit. All of the survivors had been handcuffed, Pakistani officials said. The Americans also left four dead bodies behind: three men and a woman, taking only bin Laden and his dead son. From the Guardian:
Local authorities arrived on the scene of the raid as American special forces were leaving. It is believed that the attackers originally planned to evacuate all those in the compound but the breakdown of a helicopter meant there was no space to take them.
Instead, only the bodies of Bin Laden and his son Hamza, who was in his early 20s, were taken to the aircraft carrier the USS Carl Vinson and buried at sea. Survivors were left with their hands fastened with plastic handcuffs, a second Pakistani official said, adding that initial communications with the survivors had been difficult as the Pakistani police and military arriving at the scene did not speak Arabic.
The survivors are now being held by the Pakistanis, who say they will return them to their home countries as soon as the respective governments ask for them. At the moment, they are not allowing American agents to interrogate them -- strenuously or otherwise. But no doubt as the survivors' stories begin to emerge -- and yes, they will have their own spin and agenda, just like Obama and his subconsciously mythologizing security apparatchiks -- we will see several more "corrections" of the "historical record" now being woven and re-woven in front of our eyes.

There was something or someone there they wanted and they got it. Whether or not it was a living or dead OBL will remain a mystery for an ever shrinking number of people as this event is swallowed by those about to come.

Skeptical Inquirer Publishes Two Letters from AE911Truth Supporters About 9/11 Truth Hit Piece
Written by AE911Truth Staff

As part of the introduction to letters about "The Conspiracy Meme" the editor talks about the letters he received, most of which just asserted that 9/11 was done with explosives. These two were selected "nearly randomly" from the 30 plus received.
"As a registered professional engineer committed to the scientific method, I would like to echo Ted Goertzel's support for the peer-review process. Goertzel says, "review panels must have full access to all datasets ... It is especially important that ... qualified specialists [have] an opportunity to present alternative views ... " Engineers who observe the destruction of WTCT as possible only by controlled demolition have been stifled by the National Institute of Standards and Technology's (NIST) decision to suppress details of their WTCT failure models. For example, NIST replied: "Indeed the NIST Director has determined that the release of 3.370 files from the [failure] analysis results ... might jeopardize public safety and therefore, these files have been withheld." Suppressing this analysis from peer review is unconscionable. Public safety is endangered when engineers are precluded from studying how an ordinary office fire could completely and utterly destroy a forty-seven-story modem skyscraper such that for more that 100 feet it exhibited free-fall acceleration. Goertzel notes, "technological conspiracies often ... [make] bizarre claims that ... [information is] suppressed. In this case, it is not a bizarre claim but rather a bizarre reality. We welcome Goertzel's, and SKEPTICAL INQUIRER's, public call for NIST to release its suppressed analysis."
