The 10th Inning, Ken Burns' newer baseball documentary for PBS (on like 10 days ago) had stories of Dominican minor-leaguers in the 60's in 70's who left the island all fired up with their visions of America, and started their careers in Butte. They were a little freaked out.
Slightly off-topic, but I was delighted to hear that Marcos Breton was included in this program as one of the interveiwees for the history of latinos in baseball. My husband has known his family for many years and we even once spent a wonderful thanksgiving at his place (where I amazed all by dismembering a turkey in minutes to throw on the grill when it became apparent that there had been a serious miscalculation in baking times...). I have seen some of his other serious articles, but had no idea he was such an authority on baseball history. He's a great guy, and I heartily reccommend his writing.

Well, my guess is he has been to Coors Field so it's ok.
