sententious • \sen-TEN-shus\ • adjective
*1 : given to or abounding in aphoristic expression or excessive moralizing
2 : terse, aphoristic, or moralistic in expression

Nowadays, "sententious" is usually uncomplimentary, implying banality, oversimplification, and excessive moralizing. But that hasn't always been the case, nor is it universally so even now. The original Middle English sense of "sententious" was "full of meaning," a meaning adopted from Latin "sententiosus" (from "sententia," meaning "sentence" or "maxim"). In Modern English, too, "sententious" has sometimes referred to what is full of significance and expressed tersely. Or sometimes "sententious" simply suggests an affinity for aphorisms, as when it refers to the likes of Benjamin Franklin's Poor Richard (of almanac fame), the homespun philosopher given to such statements as "early to bed and early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy, and wise."

Yo Max.
Is that your real photo as your avatar? I keep imagining that guy saying what you type.
Just curious.

Wow I take a break from the board for a while and this is what I come back to? Even I can't be bothered to argue against this amount of not even INTERESTINGLY crazy word salad (and animated-gif salad which is worth 1000 word salads per frame I guess.

Come to think of it, I draw the line at the moon. Somehow it seems like it's ok to believe any gibberish you like about mars...

So yeah have fun i guess.

Hello friends,

Well, I'm disappointed I didn't recieve a reply from apologydue.

But ultimately it's cool, cuz what I wrote definitely served a purpose:

Humble Pie

So today, I finally posted a new & improved Geometry of Cydonia poster.

"Well, I'm disappointed I didn't recieve a reply from apologydue".

Max, how about answering my questions back on P3. You completely ignored my comments and questions, and frankly, considering you created this topic for discussion, that's being a bit rude. Just to refresh your memory:

"Space.com article SUPPORTS explicit prediction of Cydonia research"

What is your "explicit prediction?"

It would be appreciated if you would extrapolate on your "truth", without mentioning the math or the light. What does Cydonia represent to you?

Oh, and while you're at it you might want to change that tiresome sig, or at least learn about who is the Light. You do know Lucifer is the bearer of light, don't you? the guy who ENLIGHTENED Adam & Eve.

Frankly, guys who have that kind of 'glow' as your avatar demonstrates I generally stay clear of.

PS: If this was my blog, you would have been banned long ago. You refuse to coherently respond to questions put to you and in place of an answer you pull, or at least hope to, people away from RI to read your blog.

I wonder what it has to say about passing judgement and loving others.

I argued with Max, too....at first. If he bothers you that much, surely you know enough to just dis-engage?

Wrex, you really don't want to go there... an eye for an eye, and all that, do you?

So, judgment is Yours, mr. Wrex?

If Max, the author of this thread can express disappointment for not receiving a response from a poster, I shouldn't comment similarly on his complete disregard for my questions?

I've only asked for some clarification or rather, a concise, matter of fact answer. I don't think that's being either unreasonable or unloving.

Hey, you at least got an argument; all I want is an answer.

If you'll note, I've been rather disengaged, 10 days before the last message a month ago.

Nothing at all of importance with his latest post. That pic really clears it all up, doesn't it? especially with another link pulling RI readers away to read his...'stuff'. That's plainly being rude to his host, Mr. Wells.

If you invited me to dinner at your house, wouldn't you feel me rude if after appetizers I invited your other guests to have dinner at my house, because what I was serving was so much better than what you had to offer?

Oh, and before I disengage, I think this is loving, caring advise:

From wikipedia:
the wiki wrote:Hypocrisy is the act of persistently professing beliefs, opinions, virtues, feelings, qualities, or standards that are inconsistent with one's actions. Hypocrisy is thus a kind of lie.

For example, a man who complains of cars speeding down his street, but speeds himself would be considered a hypocrite.
Another example, a man that tells you that something is wrong and you shouldn't do it, but then does what he suggested that you shouldn't do.

Hypocrisy may come from a desire to hide from others actual motives or feelings. Hypocrisy is not simply an inconsistency between what is praised or admired and what is done.

In other words, a few of us, myself included, are waiting on a reply from you on valid points raised about your OP. FFS man, engage already.

MaxtheKnife wrote:But ultimately it's cool, cuz what I wrote definitely served a purpose:

in addition to everything else left unexplained and un-responded-to, I'm not sure you've ever adequately justified your analytical dependence on mirror imaging. To be kind, it appears to be arbitrary and, due to a variety of reasons requiring more patience to explain than you've demonstrated yourself, utterly useless as an explanatory narrative device. Try harder.

Yes, I think the RI dinner party is robust enough for people like Max to splash around in the gravy at the kid's table without interrupting our conversations.

Well, according to the recently appointed moderator, Mr Barracuda, and from the best of my reading,

a. all the cydonia stuff is nonsense. Truly laughable

b. we are here simply by the process of evolution. Truly laughable

c. The 3 buildings destroyed on 9/11 were all the result of heat and 2 planes. And the biggest laugh of all is always saved for last.

Now THATS rigorous logical no nonsense thinking. The kind that makes idiots of "conspiracy theorists".

Thank you for the depth of your remarkable contribution to the thread, slim. But perhaps you're right: maybe Jeff just gave me the job on the basis of my great body.

Just sayin it as I see you.

I See you for what you are.

Make of that what you will.

BTW shark, theres a post in the data dump somwhere that goes a long way to verifying the mystery that is Cydonia. You might care to read it sometime when you arent too busy veryfying the magic bullet theory , or perhaps confirming the theory of evolution, or perhaps confirming the NIST conclusions on the collapse of WTC7.

Thanks for your polity.

That's just silly. None of us sees another person "as they are" — we simply see people as we see them, for whatever right or wrong reasons.

Anything more than that is just our minds playing tricks on us.

Wrong again. But you're batting 1,000.

As a member of this board, all I ask of a moderator's opinions (or of anyone else's opinions, for that matter) is that they be real, and not the stuff of game-playing. I see no evidence — ZERO — that anyone on the moderation team here is playing games, whether I happen to agree or disagree with one or more of their stated opinions.
