My son's due date was the same as my mother's birthday.

(Ended up inducing a week earlier due to his size. He still couldn't make it out, had to do a c-section. In hindsight, we should have just waited. )

Today multiple synchs have all come to a head. Here's the run-down.

And this one involves our favorite number around here too.

Back when I was pregnant with my twins, I had crippling nausea. For almost five months I could keep nothing down. So when I felt decent enough I would treat myself to as many calories as I could. One day early in the pregnancy, about 10-12 weeks in, I felt well enough to go down the street to the local breakfast place. As I came through the door I saw my then-husband's (Mr LaSarc 3) best friend and his girlfriend sitting at a booth. They waved to me and as I approached I noticed his girlfriend stubbing out a cigarette.

Laughing, she said, "Mike just told me to put out my cigarette because you are pregnant."

I looked at him. We had told no one except close family. "Did (MLS3) tell you?" I asked.

He shook his head, "No. I don't know why I said that. It just popped into my head."

So I went ahead and told them I was. 'Mike's' birthday is Nov 28. My twins were born on Nov 28.

To make it all weirder, since then, three of my bosses have had Nov 28 birthdays.

Maybe we should just call this place '28' and have done with...

That particular pregnancy was studded with synchronicities and odd occurances, from conception to birth, but that is a story for another time.

This week I finally got round to buying the film "Old Boy" off Ebay - from the moment I purchased it I thought "I bet they show it on TV soon"

It arrived in the post Thursday.

I've just opened the Times Tv Guide for next week - Old Boy is on Channel 4 on Wednesday.

The thing is - about 3 hours ago I was reading this thread and thought "Wouldn't it be funny if Old Boy came on TV soon"

Wednesday is a bit sooner than I was thinking.

The funniest thing about the shop I volunteer at: we number 108 (wooo) and the meanest, most spiteful old witch of the bunch is the Toy Dept pricing chair. It's as if the world is trying to get her to lighten up.

My partner's dog was born the same Saturday night of our first date. (We'd met online that morning, a click-wham, gobsmacking connection.) When she brought the pup home 8 weeks later we became family because, by all the powers I can't figure out, it's meant to be that way.

Well, one of the people in question is on target for having her baby 12/12. This shall be my birthday, her grandpa's birthday and the day of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Her and I both nursed this little cat to health and named her Lupe for some reason. As stated above.

And I was somewhat shocked that that Fallout New Vegas game is all I want for my birthday. I was just thinking about what I wanted for my birthday yesterday and that game is it. I was surprised to see the Sinatra song come up as exactly what I would like to get tomorrow. Neither here nor there, but there it is.

At this time, it is not clear that NanoSail-D ejected from the Fast, Affordable, Science and Technology Satellite (FASTSAT) as originally stated on Monday, Dec. 6. At the time of ejection, spacecraft telemetry data showed a positive ejection as reflected by confirmation of several of the planned on orbit ejection sequence events. The FASTSAT spacecraft ejection system data was also indicative of an ejection event. NanoSail-D was scheduled to unfurl on Dec. 9 at 12:30 a.m., and deployment hasn't been confirmed. The FASTSAT team is continuing to trouble shoot the inability to make contact with NanoSail-D. The FASTSAT microsatellite and all remaining five onboard experiments continue to operate as planned.

The synchs have been flying at me fast and furious for the past few days (though they are all media-related).

On Friday, at work, one of my coworker's played The Damned, which included the song "Jet Boy Jet Girl" (a maybe twice yearly occurrence). Later that night, at the final installment of my friends' dj night, that song was played by one of the guest dj's, whom I don't even know.

On Saturday, I was looking through the documentaries and movies that are available on HBOGO for "free". One jumped out at me - "Control." I chose to show my girlfriend - "hey, look at what they have!" She looked shocked, and turned her phone towards me: on the screen was a photo someone had taken of the movie poster for "Control" hanging up somewhere and had posted on Instagram. She was looking at it right at that moment.

On Sunday, we watched a couple minutes about the history of "Camp Kill Yourself / Jackass." My girlfriend, the fashionable salon manager, isn't the biggest fan of the franchise, but surprised me by knowing a lot about it. Presumably because it was somewhat of a "local" show. By Monday morning, Ryan Dunn would be dead.

Just a couple of hours ago, I was reading about Roger Ebert's commentary on Ryan Dunn's death. Two guys walked into the room, and the first piece of conversation I heard was "did you hear about the Roger Ebert thing?" just at the moment I read the headline (on my phone, not within view of the conversationalists). Since it's news (and local at that), it shouldn't be considered too much of a coincidence, but since I had expected them to stop after three, I noted it.

I was at a conference a couple of weeks ago, hanging out at a small bar with the VP from my chapter, having some drinks and dinner at the end of the second night. The music was good, and included a lot of rare songs and deep album cuts from bands not usually heard in public spaces. I asked the bartender if it was her ipod and she replied it was one of her pandora stations. The VP and I were discussing music, and discovered we both played sax, which had never come up before. I told him about the last project I was involved in (almost eight years ago at this point) - a free jazz quartet (alto, tenor, bass, drums) in the vein of Art Ensemble of Chicago, Eric Dolphy, or Sonic Youth. The VP gets excited, brings up Albert Ayler; I get excited and bring up my bootleg recording of The Funeral of John Coltrane and how insane it is as a piece of music.

The next morning, we were in a talk with the motion designer Jakob Trollbäck on systems syncopation and rhythm. He plays us a composition based on two, three, and four sets of railroad crossing chimes, and then moves on to discussing the song "Summertime". He plays a video of his daughter doing a rather straightforward interpretation, and then brings up Ayler's name. He refers to him as a "true madman of the saxophone" and directs the audience to The Funeral of John Coltrane as evidence, but plays Ayler's version of "Summertime" instead. The VP and I nearly fell out of our seats.

A rare, rather impenetrable form of art, one of its more oddball artists, and one of his rarest treasures of a piece of music that the general public was never supposed to hear is brought up twice in about ten hours - first in private between two people, then in public to an audience of about 1500. We relayed the story to him that night at the closing party and he seemed rather unimpressed, preferring to talk instead about The Art Ensemble and Sun Ra.
