5.16pm: Neil Perry in Oslo just sent me this worrying development. I'll try to get more details:

A man disguised as a police officer began shooting where youth were attending a Labour party conference at Utoya, Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg has just confirmed. He said there is a 'critical and serious situation' but he is safe. He was speaking on the phone to Norwegian TV station TV2.

17:27: The local police district in Buskerud learn about the shooting, and three minutes later the police in Oslo are informed.

Thank you! What do all you apologists have to say about this?

there's this:

Explosives have been recovered from a car, thought to have been left parked next to the Utøya ferry.

"We greeted him as we got off the ferry," said a student who was leaving Utøya just as Breivik, dressed as a police officer, was boarding the boat for the island. "We thought it was great how quickly the police had come to reassure us of our safety because we had heard of the bombing in Oslo."

Read it again.

And they already have the capability to air drop a RIB - or did you miss that too, Kid?

Major Tore Ulriksen, Programme Manager with the Norwegian Air Force, said: “Airborne Systems was selected as a single source of supply with a commercial off-the-shelf solution because of proven quality and acceptable price. Airborne Systems had already carried out excellent work on a similar programme in 2009 with an airdrop platform for a 6.5m RIB.”

i did. just above your quote it says:

Now, under a £2.8m contract from the Norwegian Defence Logistics Organisation, Airborne Systems will manufacture and supply the complete airdrop system, which includes the airdrop platform PRIBAD 21, the parachutes and auxiliary aerial delivery equipment, aircraft certification, training and full through-life support.

now you got 69 minutes. closer to [stickdog's] 78 (1 hour and 18 minutes). good spot.

edit: but only if the report came in the moment Breivik landed. before he started shooting. or you show he landed earlier still.

The media had already gotten the PM to fucking confirm the fucking shootings and the fact that there was a "critical and serious situation" 69 fucking minutes before the cops arrived on the scene. Are we all living on the same planet here?

And did he change into the police uniform on the drive to the lake? After suspiciously leaving the car bomb. Because if he was dressed as police at that point, he probably wouldn't have appeared suspicious.

he drove the van to Oslo. left it. then got to Utoya. did he take a cab? where did he change into uniform? had he left a car there the day before?
did he go home first?

So, he left the car, boarded the ferry on foot, and as well as a pistol and rifle, was carrying enough ammunition to kill 68, including misses, and he didn't arouse any suspicion. And no mention of the shotgun many eyewitnesses described the shooter also using. The guy is James Bond.

Thank you. It was less than a fucking half mile. The killer took less than 10 minutes to get across by ferry. But the cops somehow manage to take 78 minutes.

Where do you want me to start with police stupidity or incompetence? Why is it that a bunch of clowns who generally can't find their arses with a handful of bogroll have suddenly become super soldiers?

Reading this thread I'm reminded of people who:

a/ whinge about potholes in the road.

b/ whinge about having to wait on the road at a stop/go sign while a pothole is fixed.

c/ then whinge about council rates or taxes to cover the cost of fixing the potholes.

So all of that is comparable to wondering why the fuck it took 79 minutes for the cops to arrive on the scene of the 60+ kids getting murdered? Again, I am not saying that anyone had to be in on it. What I am saying is that dicking around for 50 extra minutes while kids are getting shot is unconscionable. It doesn't take a fucking super soldier to arrive on the scene with 30 minutes. It takes a Domino's delivery driver.

Well, thats what you'd think...

This page says it only happens i n the US

And that pothole comment was a bit harsh and maybe was unfair, tho I wasn't thinking of you stickdog.

Must have went to ikea (since there are no wal-marts) to buy suitable boats to get there. Must have been stuck behind a huge line at the checkout counter.

Who is going to drive the ferry? Assuming it came back, are you going to force the civilian crew of a ferry to take the boat onto an island with potentially multiple, heavily armed psychos who have already detonated a massive bomb in the middle of Oslo??

No ferry. No boats on the water or available in any docks on the lake.

No fighter jets available on 9/11, even though on the typical weekday scores of fighter jets are already up in the air doing training exercises. What? Did you want them to shoot the planes down or something?
