Well, except, who is the "they" who is going to bother, especially when the thought that anyone is hacking is perpetually re-rendered verboten soon after each new case demonstrating that it's possible. Denial is a deep pool, the contrary stones make ripples, then sink to the bottom and the surface is calm again. I shall note that there is evidence of systematic election fraud in general elections, on a widespread and national level and motivated by a modern sense of divine right, by only one of the two duopoly parties, and no such evidence that any third entity is engaging in it. (Not that the latter is not happening: I'm talking about evidence, not plausibility.)

U.S. E-Voting System Cracked in Less Than 48 Hours

March 14th, 2012
Via: H-Security:
Researchers at the University of Michigan have reported that it took them only a short time to break through the security functions of a pilot project for online voting in Washington, D.C. “Within 48 hours of the system going live, we had gained near complete control of the election server”, the researchers wrote in a paper that has now been released. “We successfully changed every vote and revealed almost every secret ballot.” The hack was only discovered after about two business days – and most likely only because the intruders left a visible trail on purpose.
In 2010, the developers of the municipal e-voting system that enables voters living abroad to vote via a web site, invited security experts to conduct tests. The university researchers say that the project was developed in cooperation with the Open Source Digital Voting Foundation (OSDV) and that other US states have also worked on services similar to Washington’s “Digital Vote-by-Mail Service”. They also praise the system’s transparency as exemplary but point out that its architecture has fundamental security weaknesses and was not able to withstand a shell injection and other common hacker techniques.

Shhh! If people realize how little "say" they may have, they might resort to methods that actually have some effect.

Yeah I agree with other sentiments that there is no desire to "fix" flaws, nor would the flaws even be necessary to "deliver" votes, as Diebold has stated is its wanton lust to do. We'll all play a game and then they'll tell us what the plan's been.

I reality shows = life, then doesn't life = a reality show?

Transitive property and all that.

We're all just living in a reality show, so just relax and see how it turns out. The judges know best anyway.

No, symmetric property. Transitive would be: reality show = sucks, life = sucks and so reality show = sucks = life.

Rick Santorum Promises War On Porn Industry

The Huffington Post | By Leigh Owens
Posted: 03/16/2012 12:11 pm Updated: 03/16/2012 7:57 pm

Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum has promised to initiate a war on porn if elected.

“America is suffering a pandemic of harm from pornography. It contributes to misogyny and violence against women. It is a contributing factor to prostitution and sex trafficking,” the former Pennsylvania senator wrote in a statement posted on his campaign website.

Santorum has chosen the porn industry as his latest target in his effort to be viewed as the most conservative candidate in the GOP primary, ahead of opponent Mitt Romney. He believes that current obscenity laws should be more stringently enforced.

“Current federal ‘obscenity’ laws prohibit distribution of hardcore (obscene) pornography on the Internet, on cable/satellite TV, on hotel/motel TV, in retail shops and through the mail or by common carrier,” Santorum wrote in the statement, adding that these laws should be “vigorously enforced.”

The statement also took the opportunity to slam the Obama administration and its handling of the issue so far, stating that the president has “refused to enforce obscenity laws” and that the Department of Justice "seems to favor pornographers over children and families."

Not everyone agrees with Santorum's analysis of how the industry affects Americans. Steve Chapman, a writer for the Chicago Tribune took issue with Santorum's claims, which he describes as "just wrong."

"Santorum doesn't seem to notice that as porn has become ever-more available via the Internet, the prevalence of rape has plunged. Since 1991, the national rate has fallen by 86 percent -- compared to a decline in overall violent crime of 65 percent," Chapman wrote.

The porn industry is a billion-dollar-a-year business nationwide, and with the rise of the internet and technology it has become one of highest-grossing industries in the world.

It's so heartening to hear Santorum's concern for women.

Can you for once see that this powerful extremist movement exists and has an enormous impact on this country, and not pretend it's all just a trick to legitimate the present government? They are not fake, and they don't have to be scary, they are all too real. If not for the religious extremists, the two-party dynamic would become impossible. This is the main reason the Republicans start out with an automatic 40-plus in any election: thanks to the religious right-wing vote. They are the most populous faction supporting empire, crusade, military culture, xenophobia and corporate rule. All US politics is forced to kowtow to their neuroses, to the way they frame God and country, not to mention other key concepts like family, work and property.

Wow, you completely misunderstand me.

Of course they are not fake, I have a very large extended family consisting of these freaks.

But they are the most easily manipulated herd of idiots in America, and they are particularly useful in freaking the shit out of what passes for "the Left" in this country.

Did you not read the Abramoff e-mails to see what the Republicans actually think about these people? They don't pander to these people, they simply tell them how to think, tell them what to do, how to vote, and then demand that these same people send them tons of money.

They are simply used.

Its all about The Overton Window, its all about the money and its all about managing large groups of people.

They are extremely good at this.

They manage the lunatic religious freaks as I described above, and in so doing they scare the crap out of all the other people into accepting anything that ISN'T of these stupid nutjobs.

In other words, Obama will be accepted with a breath of relief, because he's not Santorum or Palin.

The religious freaks will never really get what they really want -- abortion to be completely outlawed -- because then, what would the PTB'ers use to rile them up and raise money?

The PTB'ers have it all under control. They are not scared of the religious right any more than they're scared of you and me and Chomsky. They have no threats. They're the Kings of the Jungle. As long as they continue to manage the population of this country. And they do. They control the perceptions of almost every living human being in this nation by controlling the "information" that they receive with their eyes and ears.

those in the know 'government nigger' is a term of endearment in some circles

Mazars and Deutsche Bank could have ended this nightmare before it started.
They could still get him out of office.
But instead, they want mass death.
Don’t forget that.
