I made the mistake of watching a few minutes of CBS morning "news" this a.m. Wow, what a travesty. All Trayvon & secret service. Outrage outrage outrage!

That's how I feel EVERY SINGLE TIME I turn on the so-called "news."

You're right: it is an absolute "travesty."

In fact, it's the sideshow of a travesty.

The ranting of the insane -- and I see quite a few of them here in my neighborhood, in the streets -- seems pretty calm and innocuous compared to what you see when you turn on the TV "news". Especially considering the people producing that crap aren't insane, just paid whores. And that's really an insult to whores, come to think of it.

The only thing I miss, really, is live sports. At some point that will be online (it probably is already, I'm just behind the times) and cable and satellite TV will die out.

I picked that article up from a news aggregate site. I seriously have no idea who CNS is . I simply read the article and noticed that the gubmint intended to fiddle around with the first amendment. The article seemed to do a reasonable job of pointing to the mechanics of how they intend to tweak the first amendment so I posted it. Its really no more complicated than that. I guess i'll go back to the cns site and look at the front page and see what they are all about. I read the article, posted it, and closed the link. But i'll go look at it.

And i'm not as afraid of the right as some of you guys apparently. Most of the damage is being done from the revolving door of the left anyway and the venn diagrams I posted in the venn diagram thread make that pretty evident. The right doesn't scare me any more than the left because as far as I am concerned they are two wings of the same bird. Main difference between the wings is that the left is sneakier and thus more dangerous. I don't buy into this concocted two party scenario because its only a damn circus anyway.

And my reason for posting the cns article, mainly, is because no matter what they "claim" to be doing with the first amendment it won't be good for the masses. We know that. Whatever legislation is passed concerning the first amendment will have the opposite effects of its advertisement.

Oh shit. Really? Ooops. I didn't know. I really didn't. Ok I fouled. I didn't know that. Had I known that I never would have posted an article from cns. Obviously cns is a piece of shit. Even though cns is a piece of shit there is still some good quotes in the article which is why I posted it.

The "gubmint fiddled around with the first amendment" and in fact rendered it moot when the Supreme Court allowed unlimited corporate spending on elections. Free speech exists for those who can afford it. When governments at all levels designate caged free-speech zones, when they pepper-spray seated protesters, when they infiltrate peaceful dissident groups, when they put gag orders on recipients of subpoenas, they screw the first amendment. Ending Citizens United and corporate personhood might undo some of the damage.

And of course "you're not afraid of the right" - you are of them. All you do here is to spread their propaganda and pretend, 40 times in a row now, that you didn't pay any attention to the source. Again, I'll care less once you stop pretending. Show some spine, you little wormy lying shit.

Jack I read an article from a news source I know nothing about. I saw some quotes from some prominent people (politicians) that spelled out their intentions so I posted it. The quotes in the article are valuable because they show you the rhetoric and intentions of the speakers.

You do realize, that since your communication skills suck and are so hostile, that you lose the effectiveness of your intent don't you? Most people, probably especially sophisticated readers of a site like this, don't respond well to your bully tactics. Your tactics undermine you. Are you really this paranoid or is this some sort of scripted tactic you are using?

I do that quite often actually. I guess I should check the sources more carefully. I'm admitting that cns must be a piece of shit based on the info the poet gave me. I'm firmly admitting it. I learned something today. CNS is a piece of shit. I admit it and i'm sorry I posted an article from that site. What else can I say?

Ok I went and looked at the cns site. You guys are correct. Its a total piece of shit and I apologize for fouling the air with a link from that site. I'll make an effort to check the sources more carefully in the future. Like I said it was the quotes from the politicians in the article that I found value in.

Nordic is a rare gift in this day and age: he is a generalist — which means that he has a functional knowledge of a great many things. And not just that; Nordic is a generalist who can also THINK.

Which means he is also rare and valuable.

So, if that's the best you can do, Eyeno — stuff it.
