My holiday season has been hectic, but hopefully will be happy. I wish you a happy Christmas too, MacCruiskeen, and look forward to continuing this conversation on the 26th.

For a long time, I was concerned for the persona named MacCruiskeen. This thread clears it all up for me.

Keep on fighting the good fight.

Maybe I'm just a weird one in the bunch, but I generally dig what Mac writes. He started that Liberal thread which was badly needed. To be honest, I was being a bit of a snarky bitch when I went on about the cheeseburgers. There is plenty wrong with the USA. Oh boy oh boy is there ever. I simply cannot function as a happy human being constantly focusing energy into things I cannot change. Honestly, one could write up massive lists of the wrongs of all nation states. Human nature tends to target the man on top for the ills of the planet. The USA is not the sole perpetrator of wrongs, it has plenty of bedfellows.

For several years starting about 2004 when I really woke the fuck up about the massive fraud of 911 and other crimes against humanity I was filled with anger and sometimes depressed about the state of affairs in the U.S. It is mind boggling when you add up all the fuckery that goes on in the name of democracy. The fear mongering, invasions and indiscriminate use of modern weaponry like drones are all huge scars and the result of corrupt, power hungry oligarchs that have no morals and it seems little humanity. Then toss in the schemes that the banks foist onto third world nations. That is for sure not just an American thing as the banking system is entrenched globally. And Mac, I wrote it about slavery, same goes for banking. The U.S. did not invent financial schemes, the English, French and Germans etc...were pretty clever mentors.

When I wake up each day I need to focus on myself, my job, children, family and friends. The global madness will continue its own march whether I march in protest, rant or post lists on online forums. It can make for interesting conversations and debates. My bottoms up approach to happiness requires seeing my glass half full. Anything else grows and festers anger, depression and hopelessness. Does that make be blind? No, but I can see how some might think that. If I had a magic wand to stop the US of A from further bombings I would wave it. That would not change human nature. If the USA stopped its warfare other nations would eventually carry the baton for it. History has proven this over and over.

I hinted in the War with China thread about the lack of apologists for China, although since they are pretty much bullet-proof right now with so much attention focused on Russia, there is little need for it I suppose. I guess I could look more at Counterpunch for the perspective of the "Russian-Trump investigation is Clintonista BS" left on China although the one devout CPer I know IRL is heavily anti-China, having personal experience there himself...
