The Associated Press previously reported that Routh was convicted in 2002 of possessing a weapon of mass destruction, per online North Carolina Department of Adult Correction records but could not provide details about the case.

A December 2002 story by News & Record in Greensboro, North Carolina, said that a man with the same name was arrested after a three-hour standoff with police.

Routh was reportedly charged with carrying a concealed weapon and possessing a weapon of mass destruction, "referring to a fully automatic machine gun."

Just such an eerie parallel...I don't blame the Kamala brigade for arguing the reap as you sow argument of allowing any and all easy access to weaponry but the obviously more important point is the massification of violence as power that has inundated the west post-WW2, now reaching a planet-threatening crescendo with no path to abatement in sight.

Trump had bfast with Sean Hannity, who said he was invited to go golfing but declined. However, as it is well known that he golfs at his own club when at Mar-a-lago, it wouldn't be hard to sus out, so there's not much hay to make about how Routh knew to be there. I see tweets that Routh was there from 2 am, but no source for that.
There is still a lot more to unravel about the guy, especially regarding his finances - flights to Ukraine ain't cheap...

That Diddy arrest would qualify for its own thread if there was more activity here. The next few weeks will be telling as far as the extent his arrest leads to any substantive disclosures. Or it'll essentially follow the Epstein trajectory ("suicided" with no real consequences for the accomplices/fellow participants).

I was thinking, maybe I should go down this Diddy rabbit hole for RI but... Doing it for myself would be too depressing. These assassinations attempts seem well on their way to being memory holed...until the next one...on either candidate. Violence is the lingua franca of Amerika in decline...

Harris's grotesque little bit felt like one of the most cynically daring prompts I've ever seen. While dems are busy patting themselves on the back for seeing how "clever" she is to flirt with who they imagine to be the "typical" midwestern gun-enamored repubs, my first thought/association for "[breaking] into my house" was Jan 6 / Capital, etc. By which, it felt like the first time a sitting vice president ever sort of implicitly called for more assassination attempts during an Oprah interview.
