Disney's National Treasure 2: Ultimate conspiracy hijacking

Well I just got back from seeing National Treasure: Book of Secrets. Walt Disney Pictures big holiday movie...and this one is quite a doozy.

The Knights of the Golden Circle kill Lincoln in a recreation of the famous
theatre shooting. Flash forward to 2007:

Nicholas Cage's character is approached by a Mr Wilkinsin, who is a Blackwater like PMC guy making money in Iraq. He is the descendent of Albert Pike. Albert Pike figures prominently into the film

We then see Nic Cage's assistant at Borders books, whose written "Templar Treasures", a book not just about Masons but which he describes as covering all the "popular conspiracy theories...to PROVE they are true!"

As the trailer shows, they have to find the Statue of Liberty in France,
go to Buckingham Palace in London.

The kicker is that the movie revolves around "The President's Secret Book", which the movie says contains "the truth behind every conspiracy, from JFK to Area 51 to the moon landing"

They keep mentioning the JFK, moon landing and Area 51 thing, and sure enough when he finds the book, a second of this cobbled together tome
has obscured pics of where the shots 'really came from'. By the end of the film its revealed that the White House creates tommorrow's headlines before they even happen.

BUT...the real nugget?

There's a scene where Nicholas Cage is approached by some kid who makes the claim that Lincoln's death was an inside job, saying "Why did Lincoln's own security detail stand down? Why were the bridges leading from the city blocked except the one Booth used?" to which Cage calls him
crazy and confused.

Disney has basically made a film "for the whole family", taking 'safe' conspiracy theories and references to hijack the seriousness of real coverups and render it as holiday entertainment...

And while JFK is a serious topic, its been rendered into this Elvis is alive/moon landing fake/Area 51 kid's entertainment white wash cartoon.

Bottom line, this film is all about one theme:
Innoculation against real conspiracies and coverups by chiding them all as silly and wacky, rendering them on the level of fake moon landings and Elvis sightings. Even the "Stand down" meme is parodied.
A point comes when Nic Cage realizes he has to "find two famous twins"
...wondering if they are buildings, or a passage way...basically he guesses everything BUT the twin towers.

I hope Hugh gets to see this, he'd have a field day with it.

themes presented:

freemasons
secret societies
JFK conspiracy
area 51
knights of the golden circle
presidential secret socities
templars
"stand down" meme
white house able to write headlines in advance
all seeing eye Illuminati symbol.

That's the way I saw the first National Treasure, and from the sound of it 8bit the sequel is even more shameless obfuscation/propaganda.

Yeah, I had to watch the first one just because of the name - National Treasure? Masons? WTF?

And boy was it just what I expected. This sounds like its even more insidious..

With Cage in main role as well, after his Twin Towers movie role..

...s'pose ahm gonna hefta see it...thanks for warning me, 8bit...

The title and poster pictogram point the kids at the cool symbols on their dollar bills.
The whole Masonic thing can eat up lots of their bandwith without getting to...

By the end of the film its revealed that the White House creates tomorrow's headlines before they even happen.

...without getting to military-intel tactics and mundane perception management.

Though looks like the movie did make an effort to re-inoculate regarding media ala 'Wag the Dog.'

Same effort to go over the top was made with 'Network' in 1977.
"What if a newscaster told all the truths?" Then made him a raving schizo mystic.

Just the whole movie being based around a President's "secret book" handed down to every president "revealing every conspiracy in American history"...

I turned to my friend and asked "I wonder which page 9/11 is on?"

He literally flips through the book, and every page is some sort of coverup. Crazy stuff

President's book? Constitution?

Crazy presentation but close to reality.
Isn't each president supposed to follow and defend...the US Constitution?
But now that's a conspiracy theory, not a fact.

And the idea of The Man with The Secret Book is a very religio-mystical one. Ouch.

As to a book "revealing every conspiracy in America history," those books have and are being written.

Barrie Zwicker's 'Towers of Deception' is remarkably comprehensive.
Also Webster Tarpley's 'Synthetic Terrorism: Made in the USA.'
Also William Blum's 'Killing Hope: US Military and CIA Interventions Since World War II.'

These types of books are going to become more common as a result of internet research culture taking off after 9/11, the real reason for these 'National Treasure' movies.

Note the emphasis on "National."
All this truth-telling has today's version of the Psychological Strategy Board very worried about social cohesion and loyalty since they plan on having permanent occupations and low-intensity war.

And that's the reason for the focal point of that pictogram poster.
There are five men, one book, and several phalluses.

Notice where the eye is and where the pyramid points.
Right at the male genitals.

Male authority.
Male aggression.
Male power.

What are the women's roles in these 'National Treasure' movies?

Disney's going to be going into overtime myth production while bailing out hot water with decoys like this movie.

National Treasure might still make them even more popular, because what you (and I) always forget is that this crap fiction often motivates people as if it's non-fiction. There will be people who go in search of facts about conspiracies after having seen this crap movie. Whether their searches are spoiled by the crap inspiration, whether any future interactions about conspiracies that the more serious ones will have will be spoiled by "Well it all started with National Treasure"...my guess is yes. But still, real conspiracy books will probably become a little more popular -- of course, they'll also be fighting the fake reality-jacking conspiracy books, so it evens out/creates a truth deficit. Maybe we're entering a new pseudo-pro-conspiracy pop culture age. But to what end.

A very pivotal moment in the film comes when Nic Cage makes this speech to the president that he owes it to Americans to follow the oath to defend and follow the constitution(that is, after he kidnaps the president)

Hard to say...I almost feel that we're at a strange crossroads where people are aware of the Blackwatery-neoconning-war lie profiteering-torture-coverup world; but still arent willing to "go there"
when it comes to things like 9/11. Meaning, people will believe every "crazy theory" before they dare question the holiest of holy 11th day septemberist gospel.

It's the perfect climate for the floodgates of conspiracy culture to erupt as it did(in a kitchy family entertainment way in the 1990's), true...but
never underestimate how much people need their comfort blankey
to make sure their conspiracy theory beliefs remain entertainment or feigned leftist anger and nothing that *actually* changes their paradigm.

In the 90's we had the stereotype of the anti nwo-anti UN-black helicopter-chemtrail fringe right winger, and the WTO-IMF-World Bank activist leftist, then the hobbyist Xfile-JFK-UFO researcher of the Art Bell Coast to Coast cloth. Now all three have bled into eachother in a lot of ways, but to the mainstream...Jon Stewart, Olbermann and Colbert is as "conspiracy theorist" in a populist way they are willing to get.

I think I figured you out, Hugh. All of your elaborate theories are the justification you use to fend off the guilt feelings engendered by your enjoyment of popular culture!

Maybe a little bit?

I do the same thing, I guess. Except I look for positive moral/spiritual messages to use as teaching tools. Even their lies can serve that purpose.

I know, I love TV, and darn if it doesn't feel like a secret shame to say it on this board...

When Disney release stuff like this, it is sort of flabbergasting. My own flabber is certainly well and truly gasted.

Suffice to say, I don't generally watch Disney movies, but I did see Monsters Inc at a friend's house some years ago. That was wierd too, I am sure it has been discussed on these forums. The first time I saw the movie poster for Monsters Inc I was forcibly struck by the similarity of the "M" logo to the ho hum all-seeing-eye in a pyramid. Either I read too much conspiracy material (certainly true), or somebody at Disney is trying to screw with my mind (highly likely true), or er both yeah.

Shame on you!

TV is an evil mind control device I tell you!

Tinfoil is your friend!

But I think if I went and saw this movie my mind would explode. So, I shall probably just give it a miss.
