'Illuminati' as 'deviant adepts'

Postby Jeff » Sat Feb 09, 2008 12:43 pm

I've been reading John Lamb Lash's highly praised Not In His Image: Gnostic Vision, Sacred Ecology and the Future of Belief, and he has some things to say about the "Illuminati" that make considerable sense to me, which is rare when the term is used these days in its broader, non-Weishauptian usage. (He also makes a good case for understanding the alien phenomenon through the Gnostic lens of the Nag Hammadi's Archons, but that's for another post.)

Lash writes:

Around 4000 BCE, with the rise of urban civilization in the Near East, some members of the Magian order chose to apply certain secrets of initiation to statecraft and social engineering. They became the advisors to the first theocrats of the patriarchal nation-states, but in fact the advisors were running the show. Their subjects were systematically programmed to believe they were descended from the gods. The Illuminati inaugurated elaborate rites of empowerment, or kingship rituals. These rituals were in fact methods of mind control exercised on the general populace through the collective symbology and mystique of royal authority. Kingship rituals were distinct from the rites of initiation that led to instruction by the Light and consecration to the Great Goddess. Their purpose was not education and enlightenment, but social management. Gnostics refrained from assuming any role in politics because their intention was not to change society but to produce skilled, well-balanced, enlightened individuals who would create a society good enough that it did not need to be run by external management....

Historians recognize a split in the Magian order, but do not understand either its origin or its consequences. Within the order, the telestai were given the title of vaedemna, "seer," "wise one," as distinguished from the priest, the zoatar, who officiated openly in society and advised Middle Eastern theocrats on matters of statecraft and social morality.... So arose the first theocratic city-states in the Fertile Crescent. Urban populations required social control, and the Illuminati assumed the role of planners and controllers - more often than not, hidden controllers.

...

The Illuminati program was (and still is) essential to patriarchy and its cover, perpetrator religion. While it cannot exactly be said that the deviant adepts known as Illuminati created patriarchy, they certainly controlled it. And still do. The abuse of initiatory knowledge to induce schizophrenic states ("entrainment"), manipulate multiple personalities in the same person ("platforming"), and command behaviour through posthypnotic suggestion (the "Manchurian candidate" technique) continues to this day, with truly evil consequences for the entire world. If we accept that the Mysteries were schools for Gaian coevolution dedicated to the goddess Sophia, they could not have been run by the Illuminati, as some contemporary writers (who believe they are exposing the Illuminati) have supposed. Everything the Gnostics did in the schools was intended to counterbalance and correct the machinations of the deviant adepts. Initiation involved melting the ego boundaries in preparation for deep rapport with nature, not lowering of ego consciousness so that the subject could be "sectioned" and behaviorally programmed using the power of suggestion, imprinting, and other psychodramatic methods. These behavioral modification tools of the Illuminati were strictly forbidden in the Mysteries overseen by Gnostics.

The sections cited here "ring true" as far as they allude to some kind of split in esoteric brotherhoods.

I must say though, that I'm not sure what to think about John Lash's work of late. I don't know what his relationship to Joanna Harcourt-Smith is currently-they married several years ago and are now "divorced" though they still work closely together, and she continues to be an influence on him.

I remember well the accusations that were made against her in the 70's, of being an agent/informant for Federal agencies like the CIA, back around the time when her husband Tim Leary was kidnapped in Afghanistan. Perhaps it was a big case of "blaming the woman" in order to hide other things, but perhaps not. I have it on good personal authority that Joanna Harcourt-Smith is bad news, savvy though she may be in some things of a cosmic nature.

During the time that he was incarcerated, Leary quickly got into a "space migration" mode, asserting telepathic contact with wise extraterrestrial intelligences, which were somehow conflated with the CIA (Intergalactic Evolutionary Center=CIA?).

Harcourt-Smith was a key member of the "telepathic team" that channeled these messages. Perhaps I am now overly "anti-alien" (hypothesis), but I have noticed how Lash has gone heavily into a territory where reptoid aliens are influencing the fate of humanity.

So, given the history of alien motifs as a vehicle for disinformational campaigns, I am somewhat uncertain about John Lamb Lash, though I don't want to jump to any conclusions...

I will need to read the book, but I definitely agree with the view stated by Jeff. Particularly the Archon-alien connection. I don't believe in aliens, or maybe I should say that i know they are there but not actually aliens. To completely discount and ignore the alien/abduction phenomenon is a mistake. The Archons, servants of the Demiurge (Yaldabaoth in the Nag Hammadi texts) are anthropomorphised symbols of various parts of the body. They infest the body of a person, cutting them off from the Upper Aeons and Pleroma, which correspond with the higher psychic regions of the nervous system. The texts actually list the corresponding body parts for each Archon.

I am convinced that endogenous DMT release is responsible for many abduction experiences. Abuse and trauma are also possible and highly likely. Terrence said that "People are so alienated from their own soul that when they meet their soul they think it comes from another star system." and I agree with him. Leary was definitely fucked with in prison. Besides the elitist space migration business, he also calls ecology a "dinosaur science". The sooner we replace ETs with nature spirits, the sooner we can bring people's view closer to a contemporary native american perspective. This would be inevitably communal and much better for socialist interests.

Interesting!

I think to be illuminated is not a bad thing, it's more what you do with it. The Illumanti as we know them today tend to have a negative conotation and world domination on their mind. They are the black robed mages if you will... However I also think illumanti can be good, and support the forces of light. But then I guess we wouldn't call them illumanti, we'd call them gnostics?
Do not attempt to adjust the picture. We are controlling the transmission.

It's the same sad story thoughout human history...a group of elites who believe they hold some esoteric secret knowledge, feel they have the moral authority to conduct mass human sacrifices involving large structures(be it the Aztecs, Babylonians or the 9/11 event) and ruling over people.

People criticized Mel Gibson's "Apocalypto", but a decadent elite sacrificing people and oppressing the population is a theme that's been going on for some time. And it will keep going on until there is either a massive waking of consciousness or there's a non elite coopted revolt against the powers that be.

Interesting as I just finished watching an episode of "The Outer Limits", entitled:
MANIFEST DESTINY (2000)
http://www.stage6.com/The-Outer-Limits/ ... st-Destiny
The UFS Mercury is en route to the planet Trion to do scientific tests in preparation to establish a colony when they recieve a distress call from a battleship, the UFS Rhesos. It was only weeks ago that the Rhesos dropped bombs on Trion, killing the local flora and fauna, making it ready for colonization. Before the crew of the Mercury boards the Rhesos, medical officer, Dr. Will Olsten, dons a miniature audio/visual recording device to chronicle the events on the massive ship. It is through this device that we see and hear what takes place during their rescue mission. The team quickly realizes that things are not as they should be when they find the ship eerily empty, and come across strange writing on the walls in what looks like blood. Soon, the crew starts becoming paranoid and suspicious of one another. They begin hearing things and seeing things that aren't thereor are they? One by one, the crew members go crazy, attacking each other or committing suicide. By the time Dr. Olsten figures out that this lethal, mental degradation is being caused by a virus which was unleashed by the dying aliens from Trion, it's too late to stop it. In a final and ultimate act of alien revenge, the virus, which is transmitted via electrical current, is unknowingly downloaded and sent to Earth.

The interesting thing for me is, I virtually never ever watch vids or tv on the net unless extremely bored, but was seriously intrigued by the idea of a virus that effects our brains and transmitted via electrical current.

I'm also reminded of Christopher Hyatt or Antero Alli or someone of that ilk, maybe raw him self talking of being stuck in a circuit or a feedback loop, and the examples and dangers of that. Mostly of adepts who had crossed circuits on the left-hand path and hit a wall, but didn't even see that they had hit a wall, or been blocked. In other words, completely blind to their nefarious actions.

Anyway, If you delve deep enough, you can find the number-magick roots of Eight, and you'll see why Uncle Tim picked it to model the nervous system in and out of the world...If by chance we get "stuck" for reasons surrounding Bush/Iraq/Mukasey, etc: remind yourself that Leary said the only intelligent way to talk about politics is when you're down on all fours: it's mammalian status and territorial games, the unfortunate game-conditions on this brutal planet at this point in its evolution.
As Burroughs once said about the mortal body, "Let it go. It's full of holes!
It's full of holes!"<----let this serve as today's koan?

Yes, by design that is what the elite have engineered in regards to Native Americans and first nation peoples, just like they have done with a large segment of African Americans.

Also, just because Earl in Texas sees a mile long UFO, and just because
Thomas BuildsTheFire's great grandpa in New Mexico saw a giant bird shapeshifter when he was little, doesnt mean they were one in the same.

Re: 'Illuminati' as 'deviant adepts'

Postby Stephen Morgan » Mon Feb 11, 2008 6:56 am

Around 4000 BCE, with the rise of urban civilization in the Near East, some members of the Magian order chose to apply certain secrets of initiation to statecraft and social engineering. They became the advisors to the first theocrats of the patriarchal nation-states, but in fact the advisors were running the show.

Funnily enough that's exactly the system Weishaupt was advocating in the papers of his published by Robison, albeit in a wider, eighteenth century, sort of way incorporating control og publishing and such things in the interest of total control. But of course, the Derren Browns of this world, who make the man himself look like a man pulling a pigeon out of a hat, are in control. Advertisers aren't the only ones using applied psychology. I don't, however, believe in a malevolent alien consciousness, however you want to define alien, using the normal people of the earth. Only those who lay themselves open are vulnerable.

It's the illuminati, or those who believe themselves to be illuminated, who are in danger of being co-opted.

Their subjects were systematically programmed to believe they were descended from the gods. The Illuminati inaugurated elaborate rites of empowerment, or kingship rituals. These rituals were in fact methods of mind control exercised on the general populace through the collective symbology and mystique of royal authority.

Makes me think of George Bush being chauffered to his inaugration, being pelted with eggs and rotten fruit by the soon-to-be terrorists who thought his usurpation wasn't entirely democratic. But I suppose even carefully planned psychological illusions can't always work.

Kingship rituals were distinct from the rites of initiation that led to instruction by the Light and consecration to the Great Goddess. Their purpose was not education and enlightenment, but social management.

True, but you're better off being socially managed than you are being initiated into the enlightened and consecrated to the Great Goddess. If it was open for business I'd direct you to ben-fairhall.blogspot.com and I will refer to littledynamo.blogspot.com , bother have them have much the same thesis, the return of ancient goddess worshippers in the guise of our modern ruling class. That's the irony of the situation, those who fuck little girls up the arse to access magical powers and gain mastery over their fellow men end up losing even mastery of themselves to their unclean owl gods.

Gnostics refrained from assuming any role in politics because their intention was not to change society but to produce skilled, well-balanced, enlightened individuals who would create a society good enough that it did not need to be run by external management....

Implying the need for the current world to be run by a secretive and murderous cabal. Sorry, "if people were only like I want them to be I wouldn't have to manipulate them so much" doesn't win any time from me.

The Illuminati program was (and still is) essential to patriarchy and its cover, perpetrator religion. While it cannot exactly be said that the deviant adepts known as Illuminati created patriarchy, they certainly controlled it. And still do.

Patriarchy only exists in cloud cuckoo land. It's merely a buzzword for gnostics* and other PC pseudo-mystics to use to gain brain-washed and befuddled followers. We live in a matriarchy, under the influence of the aforementioned Great Goddess and her organs in the "illuminati", the least illuminated group in the community, the victims of Keel's false illumination who chose the wrong side in the war between good and evil submerged their ego-consciousness to become conduits into this world for evil from the other.

*I say gnostics, of course Gnostics didn't exist that long ago anymore than Zoroastrian Magi existed 3,000 years BC.

This being the work of "deviant" adepts, yes? The "abuse" of iniatory knowledge? So where are all thse straight adepts? Doing manipulative things behind the scenes. Not like thos eawful illuminati, I'm sure. Must be well-intentioned. If there's one thing I've learned it's that people doing mysterious things in a secretive manner is never evne slightly sinister. End _of_.

If we accept that the Mysteries were schools for Gaian coevolution dedicated to the goddess Sophia,

I take it that we do accept that, do we?

they could not have been run by the Illuminati, as some contemporary writers (who believe they are exposing the Illuminati) have supposed.

I thought the Gnostics were trying to alter peoples behaviour, make them "better", more fitting to create a proper society. Is overcoming hope about? Maybe he can talk you out of your misguided belief in benevolent elites who only wish to help and rescue us.

It's the illuminated ones who are in trouble. People going along themselves might be blind, but people illuminated by an outside force are laying themselves open to being hijacked for the forces of evil.
Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds wake in the day to find that all was vanity; but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act their dream with open eyes, and make it possible. -- Lawrence of Arabia

I am afraid you are terribly confused. The ruling elite are not matrist. They do not worship a goddess. The feminine element of Christianity has been the target of persecution and extermination for 2000 years.

It's the illuminated ones who are in trouble. People going along themselves might be blind, but people illuminated by an outside force are laying themselves open to being hijacked for the forces of evil.

It sounds like you are a bit paranoid. Being "highjacked" by an ideology of universal love and oneness isn't as bad as you make it sound. Reading the texts is one way. If you really want to feel it I would suggest that you try one of various plant sacraments that are increasingly available, especially if you live in England. I mean cannabis, psilocybin, peyote/san pedro, or ayahuasca. If you are really that worried about being possessed by evil spirits then find a native-born guide to help you through the experience.
