Then Came The Last Days Of May

Postby IanEye » Fri May 30, 2008 3:14 pm

then came the last days of May

parched land no desert sand - sun was just a dot
and a little bit of water goes a long way - 'cause it's hot
three good buddies were laughing and smoking in the back of a rented Ford
they couldn't know they weren't going far

each one with the money in his pocket - could go out and buy himself a brand new car
but they all held the money they had - money they hoped would take them very far

the sky was bright - a traffic light - now and then a truck
and they hadn't seen a cop around all day - what luck
they brought everything they needed - bags and scales to weigh the stuff
the driver said the border's just over the bluff

it wasn't until the car suddenly stopped - in the middle of a cold and barren plain
and the other guy turned and spilled three boys blood - did they know a trap had been lain?

they're ok the last days of May - i'll be breathing dry air
i'm leaving soon - the others are already there
you wouldn't be interested in coming along - instead of staying here?
it's said the West is nice this time of year (that's what they say)

Why is it reversed? Don't know.

Dick-in-son.

Oh, I guess the poster couldn't post it normal because the algorithms would yank it right away. Speaks volumes to the algorithms eh? Are they image sensitive?

You see me now a veteran of a thousand psychic wars
I've been living on the edge so long
Where the winds of limbo roar
And I'm young enough to look at
And far too old to see
All the scars are on the inside
I'm not sure if there's anything left of me

Don't let these shakes go on
It's time we had a break from it
It's time we had some leave
We've been living in the flames
We've been eating up our brains
Oh, please don't let these shakes go on

You ask me why I'm weary
Why I can't speak to you
You blame me for my silence
You say it's time I changed and grew
But the war's still going on dear
And there's no end that I know
And I can't say if we're ever...
I can't say if we're ever gonna to be free

Don't let these shakes go on
It's time we had a break from it
It's time we had some leave
We've been living in the flames
We've been eating out our brains
Oh, please don't let these shakes go on

You see me now a veteran of a thousand psychic wars
My energy is spent at last
And my armor is destroyed
I have used up all my weapons and I'm helpless and bereaved
Wounds are all I'm made of
And did I hear you say that this is victory?
"Arrogance is experiential and environmental in cause. Human experience can make and unmake arrogance. Ours is about to get unmade."

The Massachusetts station was better, but we could only get it at night. It was a bunch of kids.
I guess they took over the transmitting facilities of WRKO or WBZ after everybody left or died.
They only gave gag call letters, like WDOPE or KUNT or WA6 or stuff like that.
Really funny, you know - you could die laughing.
That was the one we were listening to on the way back to the beach.

on the wall of the garden
a legend did say:
'no one may come here
since no one may stay'

nice set ianeye :) man that era of defenders had some really weird story-lines, I just looked through them again a year or so ago. and WTF, they stole a villain name from a BOC/Patti Smith song? how odd. I never would have guessed their was even a BOC/Patti Smith connection. an author connected to BOC is John Shirley, you ever read any? There a book of short stories at least that should be read ("Really, Really, Really, Really Weird Stories"). good stuff.

Have you read the John Shirley story where the guy - Satan maybe - kidnaps celebrities and seals them in plexiglass sculptures?

Awesome.
