This is the place to discuss all desertfae-related things. In light of the recently announced arrest of Jimmy Hughes for the Alvarez triple murders in 1981, it is natural to remember when desertfae first came to this board.

If you believe, what she said, don't believe, or want something beyond such a simple dualistic choice, this is the place to post your opinion.

See my comments in the other thread- that's as far as it goes.

I am not claiming to be able to make a provable case that she is false, true, or some combination of the above. In fact, if anyone can make a strong case as to why she is "OK", or even why these latest revelations strengthen her case, I am open to a persuasive argument in favor of the proposition that she is "good".

Aren’t you a person that has proclaimed that it's not good to be throwing accusations around willy nilly? Why this now? She is not even here, or you trying to bait her? Tactically, this is an odd accusation that brings more suspicion towards you AD, than desertfae ever brought towards herself.

So you tell us, where was the 'disinformation' in her writings?

I have long had a distrustful feeling about desertfae- others have long trusted her. Both are valid responses I suppose, but proving things either way is a challenge.

Right now this is all a big puzzle that you could bend a bunch of brain cells around.

I don't personally have the time or energy to do this at the moment, but if anyone else does, feel free. I, for one, would greatly appreciate it.

I am open to being wrong in my opinions about her.

Rachel is a member of this board. I wanted to remind you of Jeff's guidelines as I think your comments about Rachel fall into it.

Suggesting a poster is purposefully spreading disinformation is not permitted. The charge or insinuation of "disinfo agent" can almost never be proven, and it poisons and often ends the discourse. If you have evidence that a poster is a disinfo agent, IM me with it.

Please refrain from personal attacks, and let's try to keep arguments issue-based.

Unless you have specific objective evidence that Rachel is not who she says and can report it to Jeff, please refrain from speaking about Rachel as spreading disinformation.

My best guess has been that Rachel is some kind of ARG player, though perhaps there was more to it than that. I don't recall that the evidence that she offered us previously with regards to her identity was particularly strong at all.

If I am wrong about this, I'd love to see the evidence. I hadn't remembered that Rachel was a part of this forum. If things really are as she says they are, I'd love to see some compelling evidence and if I do I will put myself first in line to apologize to her.

I really don't have time for this now- but I will just say that I haven't known desertfae to be a participant on this board in the sense that most of the rest of us are- someone who is "around", makes comments on various things, whatever.

I knew her to be someone who came for a brief spell to represent her personal agenda, and then was gone. As far as I know she has not been part of this board culture for quite some time and I do apologize if I was unfair to her- I'll certainly try not to do so in the future.

Anyway, if any other people here want to "pile on" to someone, it will have to be someone else, as I have neither the time nor energy for this right now.

AD, you just started a thread calling somebody out, so that statement above confuses me.

As far as participants on the board go, I hadn't realized the club was so exclusive, although I have noticed it's gotten a little cliquey over time. Lurkers are participants too. I know nothing of desertfae or what the story is you allude to, though I do recall the user name, and I don't know why you're calling for someone to produce evidence of their identity. Are you prepared to produce evidence of your identity, so we can assess your motives?

I don't like where this is going, nor do I like the idea of a "board culture" where approvals and disapprovals are constantly sought. I thought the anarchistic system we've had going on with the forum rules at the top and limited moderation for locking and firepitting threads was working pretty well. The fakers always get noticed and usually get gone in good time. But hey, go get your rest.

No disrespect intended on lurkers or anyone else. I honestly hadn't thought of desertfae as "being here" in any way at all for quite a long time. Perhaps it was just a "brain fart".

Anyway, this thread was not intended as a place to call anyone out on. I'd honestly like to hear the case in favor of desertfae's story- no one has that here yet. Here's what I wrote in the opening post:
