Yeah, well, if I were to buy this for my hypothetical daughter or niece, I think I'd try to give them a bit of instruction in casting protective circles and performing banishing rituals. I mean if you believe this stuff works, you might as well take the professional approach and employ it as a ceremonial magick divination device, and protect yourself from unwanted psychic residue.

What weird packaging. Looks like a box of sanitary pads containing some bizarre contraceptive device or sex toy. A combination feminine hygiene, girl's first contraception or sex gadget and an introduction to the occult, all in one box.

Really, what's that 'shapely' Ouia gadget, itself, supposed to represent? In efforts to fuck with kids' minds, what will they think of next?

Well, the shape of the "planchette", as the cursor-like item is called, is rather standard. But, I must admit that when its colored pink it looks more heart-like. The triangular shape hearkens back to a pre-letterboard usage, wherein a writing implement such as a pencil was placed at the apex and two casters supported the rest of the device. The "spirits" then provided written messages. And I suppose that the addition of a veiwport to the device and the attendant letterboard made such messages a bit easier to create and decipher, at least for the layperson.

Thanks, thurnundtaxis. Actually, I think that's much more appealing and classier--the box looks like an elegantly wrapped bar of soap or pack of cigarettes and the planchette a romantic art object or antique compass. I'd buy the one you've displayed.

Since I'd buy that Ouija board over the pink one, I'm sure the pink will be a hit with pre-teens, which goes to show the power of good advertising by targeting the market.

How did I miss out on this--now I want a board.
