I dunno, it's not so hard to find postable research on this subject (which is hardly thirsting for attention from writers) without needing to resort to authors who voluntarily taint themselves with the QAnon or Alex Jones-type crap. People who do that are either super-gullible idiots (in some fashion; they can still also be smart about other things) or - far more likely - are working a goddamn agenda. That agenda won't include you, dear reader Grizzly, or give you any priority whatsoever. You're basically asking to have that blow up on you at some point. "Oh, that Polly was good back then, who expected THIS!"

I like this one. Well-argued, structured, strong summary, historical perspective. Proceeds from the most essential points, the ones about the software company. Also the kind of obvious insight, once you digest it, that Mar-a-Lago was a recruiting ground and just on that basis Trump (& Org) was either a client or service provider to Epstein, or both.

Maybe you can dig up dirt on Ms. Matsui that foists me by my own petard, but I doubt it. Clarity, good style, nuance, and clever rhetoric without the little hidden bomblets. No endless rambling and teasing to draw you in, or imply points without making them (the Hopsicker way, and I was once a sucker for it in some of my own writing). These are all indicators of something good at work in a noggin'.

La Danse Mossad: Robert Maxwell and Jeffrey Epstein

By Jennifer Matsui

August 16, 2019
https://www.counterpunch.org/2019/08/16 ... ein/print/

Media tycoon and former Labour MP Robert Maxwell (father of Ghislaine Maxwell, Jeffrey Epstein’s partner in crime) was given a state funeral in Jerusalem after *accidentally* falling off his yacht – the unluckily named “Lady Ghislaine”. Later it was revealed Maxwell Sr was a Mossad asset who used his vast network of connections and publishing platforms to run editorial interference over his purchased assets to influence enemies and friends alike, ensuring their fealty to the foreign government that had enlisted him for its espionage work.

His tabloid empire was the piss-colored propaganda organ of the interests he served, overseeing its rapid growth and tentacled reach across the globe. More ominously, he was behind the spy agency’s successful attempt to install a trapdoor in software intended for government use, allowing the Israelis a direct pipeline into a vast network of computers installed with undectable malware.

At the time of his death, the disgraced magnate was under investigation for raiding his companies’ pension funds to cover the losses incurred from his multiple and reckless takeovers, and finance a luxury lifestyle he enjoyed sharing with high profile pals like Henry Kissinger and Barbara Walters. Curiously, many of these fossilized specimens from Robert Maxwell’s roster of friends from the Reagan era would circle around Epstein, most notably Donald Trump whose Mar-a-Lago resort would later become a recruiting center for employer Epstein’s underage “massage therapists”.

Fast forward a couple of decades since the days a casino mogul was gobbling down canapés with the old guard denizens of the ‘swamp’. Notice a similar, if not identical MO in both Maxwell and Epstein’s role in procuring technology for the Israelis, who in turn sold it with undisclosed add-ons, providing an open window into its users’ databases.

Like his predecessor, Epstein had a financial stake in a startup (headed by former Israeli Defense Minister and later Prime Minister Ehud Barak) connected to Israel’s defense industry that provides infrastructure for emergency services as a call handling platform. Considering the company’s connection to military intelligence, it wouldn’t be a stretch to speculate on some of this software’s other ‘special’ features. A variation of the early technology that Maxwell was able to procure for his Israeli bosses was later sold to the Saudis, who leveraged its sophisticated tracking features to assassinate Jamal Khashoggi.

Epstein, like Maxwell, was laying the groundwork for Israeli espionage activities through his interests in companies with a political agenda concealed in products intended for international export. If true, the playboy philanthropist feted and flattered his high profile friends to ensnare them as complicit partners in what amounts to the legal definition of treason. Epstein’s covert activities have undiminished real world consequences for anyone on Israel’s international radar, especially those challenging the status quo policies in place that prioritize “The Jewish State’s” political and financial objectives over actual justice and global stability.

If you have ever asked yourself why Israel’s war crimes and settlement expansion go unchallenged by US lawmakers, consider the career destroying consequences contained within those dossiers compiled by the braintrust behind Epstein’s ’suicide’. “We’ll trade you one US Embassy in Jerusalem for 10 minutes of hidden camera footage of you . . . let’s say ‘enjoying’ a rolled up Forbes magazine”.

Were the surveillance apparatuses installed throughout Epstein’s properties merely a voyeur’s tools, or did he use them to leverage the moral failings of his former friends for purposes that might have risked exposure of more than the nether regions of wealthy pedo-punters? Considering his connections to Israeli defense industries and his own Achilles penis that required, by his own admission, “three orgasms a day”, the answer points to an unslakable addiction that dovetailed conveniently with his state-sponsored sex crimes.

Did Epstein make the same mistake of Maxwell (who had asked for nearly half a billion dollar in “loans” from his Israeli backers to relieve him of his mounting debts) believing the dirt he had in his possession would prove radioactive if released? By this time, the corpulent tycoon was nicknamed the ‘Bouncing Czech’ a reference in most part to his worsening money woes. The implication of this request, if turned down, was the exposure of Israel’s state secrets. Epstein could have also attempted to collateralize the cache of damning evidence still in his possession to secure his his freedom with the same fatal consequences.

Both Maxwell and Epstein somehow evaded the electronics that linked them to the outside world at the time of their deaths, even though the latter had reportedly made an attempt on his own life while in custody. Both men, facing ruination and serious prison time gave their executioners an alibi: They had nothing to left to live for. The establishment media is already trotting out ancient, ding-a-ling conspiracy theories from obscure right wing sources (attributed to Russia, of course) to highlight the absurdity and futility of questioning the official story of Epstein’s death. Verdict: Nothing to see here.

By now, it’s a given that the parasitic and preferred daughter of the deceased tycoon, made the fateful introduction between her new boyfriend and the Israeli operatives seeking an entry level plutocrat to carry out their blackmail operations after the untimely death of his predecessor. An impoverished socialite has to survive in pricey Manhattan somehow, and that somehow was re-establishing the shady connections to the espionage underworld that had recruited Maxwell Sr.

Ghislaine’s later role as Epstein’s Chief Procurement Officer (or pimp for short) gives more credence to the rumors that she is more than just a debased, barnacle-like appendage to a billionaire, desperate to please her platonic partner by “organizing his social life”, but a fully cognizant co-conspirator in an operation aimed at strengthening Israel’s hand in all matters pertaining to its national security interests, or more accurately, its overseas criminal enterprises.

The recent raid on Epstein’s Manhattan apartment was not the result of a so-called Justice Department righting the egregious wrong it committed by letting Epstein off with a slap on the wrist after his initial conviction that allowed him to serve his sentence largely outside the minimum-security facility with an open door policy for its billionaire guest. More likely, the reversal of Epstein’s “sweetheart” deal was a joint operation between the oligarch cabal informally known as the Mega-Group, and the state security apparatuses that do their bidding.

It’s seems likely that this sudden pivot towards justice from a Justice Department initially spooked into inaction by the spook in his custody, was motivated by the need to remove the most damning bits among Epstein’s vast trove of physical evidence against the pervy punters who visited his island getaway for unintended photo ops with underage girls.

Perhaps his own abuse of these minors was a perk he felt entitled to, and one that would be overlooked in the service of “national security”. It’s hard for most people to differentiate between the government he actually worked for and the ruling establishment on his home turf.

It’s possible that Epstein felt his serial transgressions were merely par for the plutocracy and justified in the service of a higher calling.

The ‘Israel First’ philanthropist shared an unyielding ideological justification for his own criminality as Robert Maxwell, whom the British Home Office had considered recruiting for its own intelligence gathering in the mid 1960’s. Having determined that the well-connected, multilingual, rising star politician was strictly “Zionist”, the spy agency withdrew his candidacy.

Epstein’s real crimes had little to do with raping children, despite the overturned plea deal that came about when a federal judge ruled that prosecutors had violated the victims rights by by concealing the agreement from them. The one time teflon-coated “member of intelligence” who was “above the pay grade” of a powerful District Attorney (now a now scandal-tainted former Labor Secretary) was ultimately (and lethally) penalized for not destroying the contents of his secret-laden safes, leaving his handlers still vulnerable to their explosive contents.

Had the doomed financier divested himself of the toxic assets still in his possession, he might still be roaming the earth today, scouring it for new specimens to populate his underage petting zoo. As a result of the Justice Department’s decision to reverse the non-prosecution deal meant to bury the most incendiary facts of the case, lower-rung punters like former governor Bill Richardson and Senator George Mitchell are being publicly named for their part in the sordid scandal. Someone has to take the fall. (Rule number one of PR crisis management: Crucify the insignificant and let them hang out to dry until the public tires of watching the slow motion spectacle of their undoing.) Meanwhile, documented and/or photographic evidence against more powerful players like Bill Clinton and Donald Trump will have already been destroyed in the pursuit of selective justice.

The fallout of Epstein’s spectacular downfall predictably miss the mark as scandals involving the rich and powerful tend to do. Much of the controversy will dissolve into a Cheetoh dust maelstrom of disinformation, disseminated on Reddit and 4Chan by incel info-warriors before shooting up a shopping mall or playground.

Subsequent reporting of the case will overlook decades of the elite-driven state craft that elevated corrupt and ruthless entities like Epstein and Trump, both ring-kissing acolytes in their youth of influential mob fixer/politcal power broker Roy Cohn – himself a serial sexual predator who similarly caught the fancy of fellow deviants Joe McCarthy and J. Edgar Hoover. Follow the money trail from Tel Aviv and you’ll discover an ancestral link between the corpse of Epstein and his ghostly godfathers waiting with his rewards in hell.

Along with the other disgraced and expendable patsies left in the wake of this ongoing scandal is Alan Dershowitz, Epstein’s octogenarian chief legal counsel and ‘wing man’ aboard the Lolita Express. The now unemployable cable news pundit will live out the remainder of his pointless life under a cloud of suspicion. Despite all the damning testimony against him, the statutory rape allegations never quite stick, but follow him around like a sneaky fart, forcing a distance between himself and the rest of humanity that will last until he is engulfed by the sulfurous fumes of his own making.

The former Harvard law professor’s lifelong service to Israel will go unrewarded – not as a result of victim testimony placing him at multiple crime scenes, but in consideration of his own inept self-defense strategy: ”I’m a scurvy rat aboard a sinking ship eating its own tail to stay alive. Pity me”! Dershowitz at this point will be lucky if he can achieve the same pay grade and social status of Lindsay Lohan. Ditto for Prince Andrew who can at least be relied on to expire slowly of gout in his time-out corner at Windsor Castle.

The moral of this story could be “Lie down with dogs and never wake up agan with a prison-issued sheet around your neck”. A variation of the old “Lie down with dogs and and wake up as fish food”.

Did you guys hear the one about Prince Andrew inviting 2 serial sexual predators to his daughter's 18th birthday party?

No, this is not a joke.
Weird, though - Ashton Kutcher was apparently there too.

Harvey Weinstein and paedophile tycoon Jeffrey Epstein attended Princess Beatrice's 18th birthday

Paedophile tycoon Jeffrey Epstein allegedly attended Princess Beatrice's 18th birthday party.

The billionaire reportedly flew into the UK to attend the luxurious Victorian themed party at Windsor castle in 2006, according to royal sources.

Epstein attended the £400,000 party with then partner Ghislaine Maxwell.

Also said to be in attendance was disgraced movie mogul, Harvey Weinstein.

Despite the coming of age party being a tradition for the Royals, it is known that the Queen was not in attendance.

The shamed financier would be arrested eight days later on charges of child prostitution just days later as part of the FBI investigation Operation Leap Year, though he would only serve 13 months after making a plea deal.

Beatrice's younger sister was also at the party, aged 16 at the time, while she bumped shoulders with some of Hollywood's A-listers.

Epstein attended the party at Windsor castle with then partner Ghislaine Maxwell, who is now accused of sourcing girls for Epstein to exploit

Epstein and Weinstein are said to have been among the 400 celebrity guests.

It is not currently known whether the two were in direct contact with either of the princesses during the party.

Sources speaking to The Sun said Epstein's presence illuminates 'how close he and prince Andrew really were.'

One said: 'It goes to show how Epstein worked his way into the very heart of the British establishment — rubbing shoulders with royalty at a palace.'

Also at the party, which was attended by 18-year old Beatrice and 16-year-old Eugenie, was accused rapist Harvey Weinstein, pictured leaving a court in Manhattan earlier this year

Despite Epstein's suicide in August, investigators have vowed to continue their investigation into the abuse charges.

Among those suspected to have aided Epstein's perverted actions is Ghislaine Maxwell who has been accused of procuring girls for him.

Prince Andrew has also been accused of sleeping with one of Epstein's victims, Virginia Roberts. Prince Andrew has strongly denied these charges and has publicly stated his regret at having any relationship with Epstein.

The total cost of the party was expected to be £400,000 and included £215,000 on food and drink, £65,000 on flowers and £120,000 on security, outfits, design and staff costs.

Guests were taken to the party venue in buses. Extra police were on hand along with tight security provided by Polyguard, a private firm specialising in remote surveillance.

Musicians from the Royal Philharmonic were also bussed in. By way of contrast, they were joined by the bizarre burlesque troupe Circo Rum Ba Ba who provided performers in outlandish costumes to circulate among stunned guests.

And there's more. The party was July 15, 2006. The next month, Ghislaine went back.

Who went for a ride from London to Edinburgh on Epstein's plane with her while she was there, after FBI investigation began?

Prince Andrew and friends.

Note that Epstein started traveling with former Russian MMA fighter Igor Zinoviev as his bodyguard as soon as Maxwell returns from her trip.

Also -

9/22/2006 - Epstein starts traveling with a bodyguard.
Domestically.

Weird, huh?

Sorry I missed this connection, what is the Foley angle?

Foley was a member of the Mar-A-Lago circuit.

He most likely was not a paying member, but he was in regular attendance at events, including the grand opening in 1995, and he was back within a couple of years after he left congress.

Buyer of Jeffrey Epstein’s jet has ties to sanctioned Venezuelan
By Kevin G. Hall, Antonio Maria Delgado, and Ben Wieder
August 31, 2019 10:00 AM, Updated August 31, 2019 06:59 PM
This photograph posted on Feb. 6, 2016, on the public Instagram page of Miami-based Venezuelan businessman Oscar A. Faria shows the sleek Gulfstream II aircraft he purchased in late 2013 from financier Jeffrey Epstein, exporting it to Venezuela in August 2014.
Like virtually everything in Jeffrey Epstein’s world, the sale of his Gulfstream II aircraft to a mysterious, politically connected Venezuelan is chock-full of intrigue.

Epstein used a shell company, Hyperion Air Inc., to sell his twin engine Gulfstream G II to another shell company, Starbridge Landing Inc., in late 2013.

The use of shell companies by the ultra wealthy for this sort of transaction is generally unremarkable. Delaware, Florida and other states allow near anonymity in corporate registrations.

But Oscar A. Faria, the buyer of Epstein’s plane, has ties to powerful people in his native Venezuela, whose socialist government is starving its own people and is the target of widening international sanctions. He’s part of the growing Venezuelan population in Miami, concentrated in and around Doral.

Despite registration of at least 16 businesses in Florida, Faria, by his own admission, conducts most of his business in developing nations such as Paraguay, Mozambique and Guinea-Bissau.

Faria said he bought the plane through a broker at Equus Global Aviation named Gary Anzalone and did not know until contacted that the plane belonged to Epstein, whom he said he’d never met.

“I have never met him,” Faria said of Epstein in an interview by telephone. “I don’t even know who he is. I know he is someone with Bill Clinton, or with someone of Bill Clinton. And I was told that by Gary Anzolone, who got me the plane.”

Anzalone refused to comment, citing customer privacy.

Faria was unable to recall the price, saying only that he overpaid for it and that within a few years he sold it for parts rather than repair a turbine. He features the plane in several photos on his public Instagram page.

Miami-based Faria said he owns a palm oil business in Africa, and that he has an even larger role in developing the national soccer team in strife-torn Guinea-Bissau, where the United States closed its embassy in 1998. He is married to Veruzhka Ramirez, who won the Miss Venezuela crown in 1997 and whose popular Instagram page has nearly half a million followers.

FAA records purchased by McClatchy and the Miami Herald show that Faria sought an Export Certificate of Airworthiness from the agency in Aug. 7, 2014, seeking to send the aircraft to Venezuela. He obtained the certificate 19 days later.

Epstein had been the sole owner since purchasing the sleek black aircraft in 1994, overhauling the interior in early 2007 about the time he faced state prosecution that yielded an unusually light punishment amid allegations that he had sexually abused dozens of underage girls.

The Gulfstream — Epstein also owned a Boeing 727, which was known as the Lolita Express — had more than 11,000 hours of flight time when sold to Faria and exported in 2014, according to FAA documents.

At that time, Faria was residing in Miami, behind a gated community entrance in a section of Doral. He has been the target of sporadic surprise protests at his house by Venezuelan expatriates angry about his personal ties to a regime loyalist.

The FAA document appears to have incorrect information. It lists an address for Faria and Starbridge Landing Inc. at 98 Lockerman St. (the street is actually Loockerman) in the Delaware capital city of Dover.

fariafamil_fitted.jpeg
This photo posted in February 2019 on the public Instagram page of Oscar A. Faria shows him with his wife, Veruzhka Ramirez, Miss Venezuela in 1997, and their daughter, Sofia.
Kent County and city officials confirm there is no standalone property with that address, no tax assessments or collections from there and records show no corporate services providers or registered agents in Delaware operating from that address.

Faria said he used the Delaware address on the documents because he had registered a company there with the same name, Starbridge Landing. But the state’s Division of Corporate Records does not have any record of such a company in its database.

The Florida documents offer a mailing address in Doral for Starbridge. That address is mailbox number 633 at a UPS store.

That mailbox address was used, Faria said, because he didn’t want to receive documents in faraway Delaware. He did not say why he didn’t use his home address.

On the website of one of his companies, African Palm Corporation, there is the address 9 Loockerman St. in Dover, Delaware. That address and suite actually belong to the law firm Spiegel & Utrera, which confirmed it collects mail for Faria.

Who is Faria?

Oscar Faria has at least 16 businesses incorporated in Florida, some with the same name as his Venezuelan businesses. Some of the companies are also registered in the name of his wife, Veruzhka, the former Miss Venezuela who hails from the state of Tachira near the border with Colombia.

Tachira is one of the reasons for the swirl of intrigue around Faria. What little is known about him is that he won road-paving projects shortly after Jose Gregorio Vielma Mora became governor of Tachira.

Vielma Mora was governor from 2012 to 2017. In 2015 he became godfather to Faria’s daughter. Before becoming governor, Vielma Mora served as Venezuela’s tax commissioner during the rule of the late Hugo Chávez.

Canada sanctioned Vielma Mora for corruption in 2018, and the Trump administration followed with its own sanctions this past July 25, alleging he played a pivotal role in a food import bribery scheme at the Tachira-Colombia border.

Faria makes no apologies for his friendship with Vielma Mora, acknowledging that the controversial former governor is his daughter’s godfather, but denied that the relationship benefited him financially.

“That never happened, never happened. They [the Venezuelan press] have investigated these claims and have tried to run false allegations [...] But nobody has found an invoice, nobody has found a contract,” Faria said.

Faria said he never got paid what he was owed for a 15.5-mile stretch of a pilot project in Tachira, and said he has moved on to paving projects in Argentina and Paraguay. He provided photos of himself attending political events in both countries.

When Faria exported Epstein’s plane to Venezuela, he listed the buyer as Total Vitalis de Venezuela, another Faria-owned company in Caracas.

Total Vitalis was a pre-existing firm that Faria bought, he said. Prior owners had imported chemicals and medical supplies. The company has closed, he said, and he has no operating companies in Venezuela now.

vmor_fitted.jpeg
This 2015 photo posted on the public Instagram page of Venezuelan beauty queen Veruzhka Ramirez shows then-Tachira Gov. Jose Gregorio Vielma Mora playing with Ramirez’s daughter, Sofia. Vielma Mora became godfather to the child. He was sanctioned by the U.S. Treasury Department on July 25, 2019, for participation in an alleged food bribery scheme.
Venezuelan media had found nearly $1 million in government payments to Total Vitalis for unspecified import of healthcare products in 2014, but Faria suggested it was the prior owner.

Big Africa plans, small footprint

Faria appears intrepid in his palm oil business. There is little in English about his ventures but more in German and Portuguese.

In an interview, Faria said he invests in palm oil in Mozambique, Ghana, the Congo region and Guinea-Bissau.

Faria said he did not have any investment partners beyond the poor farmers from whom he purchases. An article in the Ghanian press showed that at least one member of the executive team that traveled with him is Marielis Ontiveros, a former Miss Vargas in 2008, a Venezuelan state.

The other two executives in the photo have unconventional backgrounds for an agriculture business.

Carlos Gomez, according to his profile on LinkedIn, is African Palm’s chief financial officer, whose profile boasts, “Determined to bring crypto to Mainstreet.”

Gomez’s predecessor, Marc Mesa, is in the photo, and his LinkedIn profile describes him as an experienced foreign exchange trader, a position he held in London years earlier.

The palm oil produced in the African nations will be consumed in those countries, Faria said, and some of it exported. He declined to name buyers or export markets targeted.

Faria also declined to provide contacts in Guinea-Bissau, saying communication would be too difficult.

A Portuguese-language blog, Bambaram di Padida, featured a story on Faria in February 2018, saying he planned a 10-year investment to produce palm oil in Bubaque, the main town of the Bijagos Islands off the coast of Guinea-Bissau.

The remote island has a population under 7,000 inhabitants, generates some tourism and once had palm oil production in support of the German defense industry.

In June 2018, Faria’s African Football Corporation announced a 10-year deal to work with Guinea-Bissau’s leaders to create a national soccer team and a private league. The goal was to have the team ranked in the top 50 national teams by 2020. (They were ranked 123rd in the world this past summer.)

In its latest country report on Guinea-Bissau, the U.S. State Department noted the West African country historically “has been a transit hub” for drug trafficking from South America to Europe.

“Drug trafficking, corruption and related crimes pose a serious challenge to the capability of Guinea-Bissau to progress on a path to democracy,” the State Department said.

Faria himself has not been accused of wrongdoing by any law enforcement agency.

“They have investigated me for everything. They accused me of being here illegally, that I was seeking asylum, and they were claiming that they needed to kick me out,” Faria said. “They criticize my wife because she is a beauty queen, and because now people love to get followers by spreading lies on Instagram.”

Jeffrey Epstein used MIT to launder his image. It’s a lesson for the #MeToo era.
Revelations about the sex offender’s connections to the MIT Media Lab are a reminder of the power of enablers.
By Anna North Sep 9, 2019, 4:00pm EDT

Protesters hold signs of Jeffrey Epstein in front of a federal courthouse on July 8, 2019, in New York City. Stephanie Keith/Getty Images
Joichi Ito, the director of MIT’s Media Lab, resigned from his post on Saturday after new reporting showed he took donations from sex offender Jeffrey Epstein — and worked to conceal their source — years after Epstein was first indicted on sex crime charges.

Ito acknowledged earlier this month that he accepted donations from Epstein both for the lab — which describes itself as an “antidisciplinary research community” that “examines the deeper implications of where technology creation and adoption has led us” — and for his own investment funds. And on Friday, Ronan Farrow of the New Yorker reported that the Media Lab had also accepted at least $7.5 million from other wealthy donors “directed” or facilitated by Epstein. Ito also took pains to conceal his work with Epstein, insisting that donations be recorded without his name and noting the money manager’s visits on his calendar only with the initials “J.E.,” Farrow reports.

Ito also resigned this weekend from the boards of the the MacArthur Foundation, the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, and the New York Times Company, and from a visiting professorship at Harvard, the New York Times reports.

The revelations about Epstein’s donations — and the way he apparently used his relationships with scientists to launder his public image — raise new questions about sexual assault cases and their aftermath. In the current phase of the #MeToo movement, a lot of attention has focused on what happens to men accused of sexual misconduct — their investigation, their punishment, and, in some cases, their eventual redemption.

But the story of Ito and the MIT Media Lab is a reminder that many powerful men accused of sexual abuse or other misconduct were also surrounded by people who looked the other way — or who helped them build and rebuild their empires in full knowledge of the allegations against them. To be complete, the reckoning around sexual misconduct ushered in by #MeToo will need to address these networks of enablers as well as the perpetrators themselves.

Ito knew Epstein was a sex offender. He took his money anyway.
Since Jeffrey Epstein was found dead in a Manhattan jail in August, attention has shifted to his friends, alleged co-conspirators, and associates. The money manager was a longtime patron of academia and the sciences, who was known for hosting dinner parties for scientists and other luminaries (at some of these he apparently discussed his plans for a “baby ranch” where he would seed the human race with his DNA). He also donated to several academic programs, including the MIT Media Lab.

Founded in 1985, the lab has been described by its leaders as a place for outside-the-box thinking; Ito once called it a place for “people who don’t fit in any existing discipline either because they are between — or simply beyond — disciplines.” But it also became a vehicle for MIT to cozy up to private business and wealthy donors, Justin Peters writes at Slate.

The extent of Epstein’s links with the Media Lab has become clear over the last few weeks. In August, Ethan Zuckerman, a media professor at MIT, announced he was severing ties with the lab after learning of Epstein’s ties to Ito. Another researcher soon followed suit. Last week, Ito admitted publicly that Epstein had donated $525,000 to the lab, as well as giving $1.2 million to investment funds that Ito controlled.

Then, on Friday, Farrow reported at the New Yorker that Epstein’s influence at the Media Lab went beyond those donations. Epstein also helped the lab get $7.5 million in donations from other wealthy people, including Bill Gates — emails describe the donations as having been “directed” by Epstein, according to Farrow.

All this happened after Epstein was sentenced to jail in 2008 and forced to register as a sex offender, and emails between Ito and others show that Ito was aware of Epstein’s past and worked to conceal his relationship with the lab, Farrow notes. In one email exchange, Ito solicited money from Epstein for a researcher’s work, asking, “Could you re-up/top-off with another $100K so we can extend his contract another year?”

Epstein agreed, and Ito forwarded the exchange to a staffer with the note, “Make sure this gets accounted for as anonymous.” Ito also identified Epstein on his meeting calendar only as “J.E.,” though other guests were identified by their full names, Farrow reports. Ito did not comment to the New Yorker for the story.

Perhaps the most disturbing part of Farrow’s story are the recollections of Signe Swenson, a former lab staffer who says that Ito had told an associate that Epstein “never goes into any room without his two female ‘assistants,’” and that he wanted to bring the “assistants” into a Media Lab meeting. The women “were models. Eastern European, definitely,” Swenson said. She added that she and other female staffers were concerned for them — “we literally had a conversation about how, on the off chance that they’re not there by choice, we could maybe help them.”

Swenson resigned in 2016, in part over concerns about Epstein, and began working with a law firm on telling her story publicly. Ito, Farrow notes, continued downplaying his connections with Epstein up until his resignation on Saturday. In an August statement admitting his knowledge of “gifts” from Epstein, Ito said, “Regrettably, over the years, the Lab has received money through some of the foundations that he controlled.”

Ito and others helped Epstein rehabilitate his image
By accepting Epstein’s donations, Ito and others weren’t just taking the money of a sex offender. They were also helping him rebuild his public image and potentially commit more crimes. After his jail term, Epstein put up a website trumpeting a gathering he’d hosted that was attended by Stephen Hawking and other scientists, the New York Times reported. Such websites allowed Epstein to rehabilitate his reputation, including the Google search results for his name. “If you looked up Jeffrey Epstein online in 2012, you would see what we all saw,” Leon Botstein, the president of Bard College, told the Times, explaining why Bard accepted donations from Epstein.

Epstein also used his donations to universities to pitch positive media coverage for himself after his release from jail, and succeeded in getting HuffPost to publish a 2017 piece praising him for “taking action to help a number of scientists thrive during the ‘Trump Era,’” according to the Times (the piece has since been taken down).

Ito has now resigned from his positions, but the sheer number of his resignations is a reminder that those who worked with or took money from Epstein had (and in some cases, still have) a variety of positions of power in American society. In Ito’s case and in others, they knew that Epstein was a registered sex offender who had been to jail — the crime for which he ultimately served time, soliciting a minor for prostitution, was public, as were allegations that he abused many more underage girls.

But some chose to take money from him anyway, effectively helping him retain his connections and social status and avoid scrutiny, even as he allegedly continued to abuse women and girls. According to lawsuits filed against his estate, Epstein was still recruiting girls and women at dance studios in New York, and abusing them, well after his jail sentence, the New York Times reports.

In the wake of Epstein’s death, as authorities investigate his potential co-conspirators, it’s equally important to look at the judgment of those who helped him burnish his public image by presenting himself as a friend of science and innovation. In cases where they are still in a position to make decisions about wealthy and influential donors, it’s worth asking what they knew and when they knew it, and whether they would be likely to make the same decision again.

Epstein appears to have been particularly adept at “collecting” famous friends, but he is not the only powerful man accused of sexual abuse who was enabled, in part, by the willingness of others to keep him in power. Harvey Weinstein, for instance, was surrounded by everyone from lawyers who attacked his accusers to politicians who took his money, even though his behavior had been an open secret in Hollywood for years.

In many cases, those are people with power themselves, whose decisions affect the lives and livelihoods of many people. A true reckoning with the problems of assault and harassment has to include an examination of their role — otherwise, they might simply repeat it.

Trump is a front man, if he is anything.

Indeed, that is really the only role his unique and innate skillset is suited for. So in this case, I think personifying the network as 'Epstein' obfuscates more than it reveals. Mar-a-Lago is Mossad property, just like Trump Towers in NYC is GRU property.

Both of these intelligence agencies, wizened by years of failure and accidents in the never-ending American Century, go through cut-outs who are easier to characterized as organized crime than intelligence assets.

But I think your summary vastly overstates the agency of both D. Trump and J. Epstein. We all have jobs.

An air traffic controller saw wealthy financier Jeffrey Epstein getting off his private plane in the U.S. Virgin Islands with girls who appeared to be 11 to 12 years old in 2018, a year before Epstein was indicted on child sex trafficking charges, newly revealed government documents show.

Epstein, who is now dead, on other occasions was seen at the St. Thomas airport in the latter half of 2018 getting "off the plane with young girls," including at least one other time when the air traffic controller saw him with a girl who appeared to be between 16 and 18 years old, documents show.

The air traffic controller told U.S. Marshals Service investigators about Epstein traveling with underage girls on July 10, 2019, a week after Epstein was arrested at a New Jersey airport on child sex trafficking charges.

Those same government documents reveal that six months before Epstein was arrested, the Marshals Service began investigating whether the registered sex offender had violated federal law by failing to disclose all the countries he visited.

One document shows that Epstein not only failed to tell officials of two other countries he ended up visiting, but that he also notified them of his planned travel just four days before he planned to leave the United States — which was 17 days less than the minimum amount of notice he was required by law to give.

The documents released by the Justice Department and Marshals Service were disclosed by the website MuckRock, which specializes in making public document requests and detailing their results.

On Wednesday, French national police published an appeal on Twitter for victims of Epstein and witnesses to possible crimes by him, such as rape of minors, come forward to aid an investigation in that country. Three victims already have contacted French authorities, the Paris prosecutor's office said, according to the Associated Press.

Epstein, 66, died in August from what authorities have ruled a suicide by hanging in a federal jail in New York City. Epstein, a former friend of President Donald Trump and former President Bill Clinton, was being held without bail as he awaited trial in his case. His death remains under investigation by multiple agencies.

One of the documents released through MuckRock indicates that Epstein had no mental health concerns or suicidal tendencies at the time of his arrest in July.

But the Marshals Service detention report detailing Epstein's 33 days in custody at the Manhattan Correctional Center says he had "mental concerns" and "suicidal tendencies" during his incarceration.

Epstein was found in late July on the floor of his cell with marks on his neck. He was placed on suicide watch for less than a week. Weeks later, he hanged himself, authorities have said.

An indictment issued in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York accused Epstein of sexually abusing dozens of minor girls from 2002 to 2005 at his massive townhouse on Manhattan's Upper East Side and at his mansion in Palm Beach, Florida.

Epstein, who had pleaded not guilty in that case, had pleaded guilty in 2008 to a Florida state charge of procuring a person under age 18 for prostitution. He served 13 months in custody for that earlier case and was required to register as a sex offender.

Epstein had a well-known penchant for young women and girls, and an obsession with receiving "massages" from them several times a day. Prosecutors say those massages sometimes, if not always, included sexual contact.

Prosecutors have said they are continuing to investigate the case, noting that Epstein was alleged to have been helped by conspirators who provided him with a stream of girls to satisfy his illicit cravings.

"Any co-conspirators should not rest easy," Attorney General William Barr said in late August.

"The victims deserve justice and they will get it."

According to a Marshals Service report on Jan. 8 this year, prosecutors in the Southern District of New York had contacted the Marshals about the possibility that Epstein — who was known to travel abroad frequently using private planes — "may not have reported all his International travel as required by International Megan's Law."

That federal law requires "all registered sex offenders to report international travel to their respective sex offender registry at least 21 days prior to departure from the United States."

Another Marshals report notes that on March 15, Epstein visited the Department of Justice's office on the island of St. Thomas, not far from his own private island, and spoke to a "Sex Offender Registry Coordinator."

"During this meeting Epstein signed the Notification of Duty to Report to travel," the report said.

That notification indicated that Epstein planned to travel to France from March 19 — just four days after the notification was signed — through March 29 with his private jet.

"No other countries were listed on the notification form," the report said.

However, "according to a public website that tracks flight activity, Epstein traveled on March 22, 2019, to Vienna, Austria, and on March 27, 2019, to Monaco," the report said.

"These countries are not listed on the notification form," the report said.

A report dated June 24, less than two weeks before Epstein was arrested, says that Marshals Service investigators met with an investigative reporter for the Miami Herald, whose series of stories about Epstein have been credited with sparking the interest of federal prosecutors in New York.

The reporter, whose name was redacted, told investigators that "she has an informant who worked at the airport and the informant stated that she has seen Epstein walking with girls under the age of 18 within the last seven months."

"Her informant has witnessed the girls board a helicopter at his island (Little St. James) and fly to the airport to board Epstein's private plane," the report said.

On July 10, a Marshals inspector contacted an air traffic controller at the St. Thomas airport whose number was provided by the Herald reporter, a document shows.

That controller told the inspector that between June 2018 and November "she has seen Epstein get off the plan with young girls," and recalled two specific times, "with the first being two girls who appeared to be eleven (11) to twelve (12) years old," the report says. "Another time a girl looked to be" 16 to 18 years old, the report said.

Another report said that a Marshals inspector in mid-July spoke to a federal prosecutor in the Virgin Islands about submitting a request for information about Epstein to authorities in "France, Austria and Morocco," and also spoke with the Customs and Border Protection agency about getting flight logs and records from Epstein's private plane.

On July 22, the inspector submitted an application for a search warrant to a prosecutor for Epstein's phone number that he listed for his international travel, with the hopes of getting "information that may provide insight to countries Epstein visited."

On Aug. 5, the inspector "received information from the [Federal Aviation Authority]," which "reveal numerous more Countries of international travel by Epstein's jet," a report noted.

"The investigation continues," the report concluded.

Five days later, Epstein died.

On Aug. 19, a report noted that the Marshals' inquiry into Epstein's travel was closed because of his death.

More of the Epstein case is unfolding in France:

Jeffrey Epstein: French police urge victims and witnesses to come forward
Three victims who have already come forward were interviewed in August and as recently as Monday, prosecutor’s office said

French police are appealing for victims and witnesses to come forward to aid their investigation into Jeffrey Epstein and anyone else involved in the disgraced financier’s alleged sexual exploitation of women and girls, and say they have already interviewed three people who identified themselves as victims.

The police appeal published on Wednesday on Twitter provided both a phone number and an interior ministry email address for victims and witnesses to use. It said police specialists have been mobilized for the French investigation, which opened on 23 August. Police are investigating the alleged rape of minors and other possible charges linked to the Epstein case.

Three victims who have already come forward were interviewed by French investigators in August and earlier this month, the last as recently as Monday, the Paris prosecutor’s office said.

Epstein, who rubbed shoulders with the elite and politically powerful, maintained an apartment at a luxury Paris address near the Arc de Triomphe. He killed himself on 10 August in the Metropolitan correctional center in New York while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges at age 66. Numerous women in the United States allege they were sexually abused by Epstein.

The French investigation is broadly looking into possible charges of rape of minors 15 and older, sexual aggression and criminal association. Prosecutors haven’t yet named any suspects. The aim is to uncover any infractions in France as well as on any French victims abroad and to determine whether any French citizens were linked to crimes.

A France-based advocacy group, Innocence in Danger, that has also been gathering testimony, said it was delighted by the police appeal, calling it proof “that the affair is being taken seriously”.

“It’s necessary and it can perhaps allow people who have things to say, victims and witness, to understand that France is interested,” Homayra Sellier, the group’s president, told the Associated Press.

She said she hopes it will also encourage witnesses who wrote anonymously to the group to come forward and testify to investigators. About 10 people have contacted the group in relation to the Epstein case, and testimonies that were not anonymous have been forwarded to French prosecutors, she said.

Among those of potential interest to French investigators is Jean-Luc Brunel, a French modeling agent and frequent companion of Epstein who occasionally flew on his plane and visited him in jail in Florida, where he served 13 months as part of a deal for a 2008 guilty plea, according to records.

One of the women who accused Epstein of sexually abusing her when she was a teenager, Virginia Giuffre, has claimed that she also had sex with Brunel, along with a long list of other prominent men, including Britain’s Prince Andrew.

All of those men have denied her allegations. Epstein, likewise, had denied all charges against him. Epstein faced up to 45 years behind bars on federal sex trafficking and conspiracy charges. He had pleaded not guilty.

Jeffrey Epstein Used Opaque Charity Account at Deutsche Bank for Own Benefit
Gratitude America attempted to transfer money to St. Thomas foundation in lieu of Epstein paying Virgin Islands fine directly

By Rebecca Davis O’Brien and Jenny Strasburg Sept. 12, 2019 7:00 am ET

When Jeffrey Epstein created his Gratitude America Ltd. foundation in 2012, the nonprofit’s purpose was to “support the expression of gratitude for the ideals of America,” according to incorporation records filed in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

In one case, Mr. Epstein tried to use a donation from Gratitude America in 2017 to resolve a building violation on one of his Caribbean islands. The move was rejected.

The charity was funded with a $10 million gift in 2015 from financier Leon Black. The gift was made through a limited-liability company controlled by Mr. Black but didn’t bear his name. Gratitude America reported more than $1.8 million in charitable contributions in 2016 and 2017 combined, but some of the recipients listed in the charity’s filings said they never received any money. A spokeswoman for Mr. Black didn’t provide a comment.

Gratitude America banked through an account at Deutsche Bank AG , where Mr. Epstein was a customer in Deutsche Bank’s Key Client Partners group, which is reserved for the bank’s wealthiest and often most profitable customers, according to people who were close to the relationship. Members of the elite group have access to services including loans, trading desks and investment opportunities, people close to the bank say.

Mr. Epstein died by suicide last month in a Manhattan jail cell while facing federal sex-trafficking charges. Mr. Epstein’s finances, including his relationship with Deutsche Bank, have come under scrutiny amid the federal investigation, which is ongoing.

Deutsche Bank’s connection to Gratitude America and Mr. Epstein’s status at the bank haven’t been previously reported. The bank has said it is closely examining any business relationship with Mr. Epstein and is cooperating with all relevant authorities.

A lawyer for Mr. Epstein declined to comment.

Mr. Epstein amassed a fortune of more than $500 million over three decades through close relationships with several billionaire clients, including Mr. Black, who has said he hired Mr. Epstein for personal tax and estate advice. Mr. Black, the chief executive of Apollo Global Management Inc., was one of Mr. Epstein’s most prominent Wall Street clients and was one of a small number who had connections with Mr. Epstein after the guilty plea that were documented in public records.

In the years following his 2008 guilty plea on state prostitution charges to resolve a sex-trafficking investigation in Florida, Mr. Epstein announced millions of dollars in contributions through various nonprofits. Some of the reported donations never materialized, according to documents reviewed by The Wall Street Journal and people familiar with the matter.

Gratitude America’s activity could be of particular interest to federal investigators because transactions took place within the past five years—within the statute of limitations for fraud charges—and because they involved some of his closest associates. Two of his personal lawyers were on the foundation’s board, and his longtime accountant served as president. One of those lawyers, Darren Indyke, was named co-executor of Mr. Epstein’s estate in Virgin Islands court.

Tax records for Gratitude America show Mr. Indyke served as treasurer or vice president of the foundation since its 2012 founding.

Mr. Epstein was listed as Gratitude America’s president in the foundation’s 2012 incorporation records and in tax filings in several subsequent years. Although his name wasn’t listed on records in later years, he maintained control, according to people familiar with the matter.

Despite Gratitude America’s stated purpose, Mr. Epstein tried to use it to make a contribution to a nonprofit organization in St. Thomas, one of the U.S. Virgin Islands, in the hopes it would resolve a fine he faced from the Virgin Islands government, according to records and people familiar with the matter. If the payments were considered charitable donations, Mr. Epstein could have enjoyed a tax benefit.

Mr. Epstein had been cited in 2016 for violations tied to construction on Great St. James, one of his two private islands in the Virgin Islands. Instead of Mr. Epstein sending checks to the Virgin Islands government, Gratitude America and another Epstein foundation each wrote a $160,000 check to a Virgin Islands nonprofit, the St. Thomas Historical Trust, according to records. The Gratitude America check came from a Deutsche Bank account, and both checks were signed by Mr. Indyke, the records show.

Representatives of the St. Thomas Historical Trust said they never received the checks and weren’t aware of the checks’ existence until media reports this past summer.

“The representatives of Mr. Epstein would have liked the settlements to include the payments as charitable donations,” said the Virgin Islands planning department spokesman, Jamal Nielsen. “However, the department rejected the offer. The settlement had to be paid to the department.”

Mr. Indyke later signed a check to the department, from the other Epstein foundation, to cover the fine, the records show.

A person familiar with the transactions said the checks to the trust, which were issued at the orders of Mr. Epstein, stemmed from a misunderstanding: The department had called for some of the settlement to go toward a local preservation project, which Mr. Epstein thought was handled by the historical trust.

Some organizations listed as recipients of donations from Gratitude America said they didn’t receive money from the charity.

Gratitude America’s 2017 tax return says it made a $15,000 contribution to an Elton John charity with the same address as the Elton John AIDS Foundation. In a 2014 press release from a different Epstein foundation, Mr. Epstein is described as providing funding for the Elton John AIDS Foundation.

The Elton John AIDS Foundation has no record of a contribution from Mr. Epstein, Gratitude America or any organization affiliated with him, a spokesman for the Elton John nonprofit said. The spokesman couldn’t explain the 2014 press release, but said the Epstein foundation retracted it within days.

Gratitude America said it made a $75,000 donation to the Cancer Research Wellness Institute in California, according to the foundation’s 2017 tax return. A representative at the California nonprofit said it never received money from Gratitude America or any Epstein-connected entities.

On its 2016 and 2017 tax returns, Gratitude America listed donations to 27 entities, though some of them, including the Icahn School of Medicine, said they received donations from Mr. Epstein, but not from Gratitude America. A person close to the Bruce and Marsha Moskowitz Foundation confirmed it had received three $50,000 transfers from Mr. Epstein from 2015 to 2017. But the contributions are cited in the foundation’s tax returns as coming from Jeffrey Epstein/HBRK Assoc., a business in New York, not Gratitude America.

Deutsche Bank played a key role in Mr. Epstein’s financial dealings in recent years, helping him move millions of dollars in cash and securities through dozens of accounts, the Journal previously reported. The Gratitude America account, held with the German bank’s New York-based U.S. subsidiary, was among those the bank cut off in recent months, according to people familiar with the matter.

Banks typically pay extra attention to wealthy clients’ charities because sources and uses of cash can be difficult to trace and because charitable donations can have big tax benefits, according to experts in banking risk and tax evasion. Deutsche Bank managers knew Gratitude America was affiliated with Mr. Epstein, and the bank’s policy would have been to monitor the foundation’s cash flows closely, one of the people familiar with the matter said.

What do you think of Jeffrey Epstein’s relationship with Deutsche Bank? Join the conversation below.
Deutsche Bank’s day-to-day relationship with Mr. Epstein was overseen by New York banker Stewart Oldfield, who joined Deutsche Bank in 2014 from Credit Suisse Group AG , according to people close to the bank. He advises wealthy and institutional clients, and inherited the Epstein relationship from another banker roughly three years ago, one of the people said. That banker, Paul Morris, left Deutsche Bank and is now with Bank of America’s Merrill Private Wealth Management in Manhattan, the person said.

Mr. Oldfield was closely involved in the decision late last year to sever Deutsche Bank’s relationship with Mr. Epstein, one of the people said. Mr. Oldfield declined to comment through a bank spokesman.

Was Jeffrey Epstein still traveling with underage girls? Feds were probing new reports
September 13, 2019 09:05 AM, Updated 2 hours 52 minutes ago

Nearly two dozen victims of Jeffrey Epstein voiced their outrage at a hearing in Manhattan on Aug. 27, 2019. By Emily Michot | Marta Oliver Craviotto
At the time of Jeffrey Epstein’s suicide last month while awaiting trial on sex trafficking allegations that dated back a decade, the U.S. Marshals Service was actively investigating more recent reports of underage girls arriving to his private island — as well as unreported European jaunts, new documents show.

Under the terms of his controversial sentencing for solicitation of prostitution from a minor in 2008, Epstein as a registered sex offender had to report his international travel.

Palm Beach multimillionaire Jeffrey Epstein has been a free man, despite sexually abusing dozens of underage girls according to police and prosecutors. His victims have never had a voice, until now.

New documents released under the Freedom of Information Act reveal that the Marshals Service was readying to seek help from the governments of France, Austria and Monaco because of unreported travel.

And the documents, first obtained by the website Muckrock, show that the Marshals Service had been been pressing authorities in the U.S. Virgin Islands for key Epstein phone records.

The efforts, however, came to an abrupt end with Epstein’s death.

Epstein was found dead on Aug. 10 at the Manhattan Correctional Center, where he was awaiting trial on federal charges of alleged sexual relations with minors. His death was ruled a suicide.

The charges came months after the Miami Herald’s investigative series Perversion of Justice, which explored controversial elements of a 2008 plea deal that was approved by the Justice Department despite credible allegations that Epstein had sexually abused dozens of underage girls. The deal allowed Epstein to avoid federal charges and a potentially long prison stint.

The series renewed prosecutors’ interest in Epstein — and helped lead to his arrest in July.

The documents released on Muckrock shed light on the Marshal Services’ role in that renewed focus.

They also show that two days after Epstein was found hanging in his jail cell, the Marshals’ probes were shut down, and a week later the case was closed.

“As such the search warrant for EPSTEINs phone was cancelled, the MLAT requests for all countries were cancelled, and all investigative activities were cancelled,” said an Aug. 19 memorandum added to Epstein’s case file. “This case is now closed.” Various investigations of the Epstein matter are ongoing, however, and it is possible the Marshals Service efforts have been rolled into existing Justice Department inquiries.

How a teen runaway became one of Jeffrey Epstein’s victims

Virginia Roberts was working at Mar-a-Lago when she was recruited to be a masseuse to Palm Beach hedge fund manager Jeffrey Epstein. She was lured into a life of depravity and sexual abuse.

MLAT stands for Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty, and the agency was in the process of seeking help from at least three European countries at the time of Epstein’s death. France has opened an investigation into Epstein’s residence and activities there.

The information outlined in the closed Marshals Service investigation seems relevant to the ongoing Justice Department investigation into Epstein’s associates and enablers. Attorney General William Barr has promised to bring to justice Epstein’s associates who aided in what was allegedly a highly organized sex trafficking ring.

Marshals Service officers in New York and South Florida did not respond to multiple requests for comment. The Office of the U.S. Attorney for the U.S. Virgin Islands also did not respond to requests for comment.

BEHIND OUR REPORTING

Local Reporting Makes a Difference

In her year-long investigation of Palm Beach multimillionaire Jeffrey Epstein, Miami Herald reporter Julie Brown tracked down more than 60 women who said they were victims of abuse and revealed the full story behind the sweetheart deal cut by Epstein’s powerhouse legal team.

Since the Herald published ‘Perversion of Justice’ in November 2018, a federal judge ruled the non-prosecution agreement brokered by then South Florida U.S. Attorney Alexander Acosta was illegal, Epstein was arrested on sex trafficking charges in New York state, Acosta resigned as U.S. Secretary of Labor, and Epstein killed himself in his Manhattan jail cell.

Another newly released document, from June 13, shows that Epstein reported upcoming travel in March to France but failed to report trips to Austria and Monaco on the same journey.

That led a Marshals Service investigator to travel in July to St. Thomas, where Epstein had by law as a sex offender to report his international travel plans. The inspector subpoenaed records for the phone Epstein listed as his international contact number.

FAA flight records, noted an Aug. 5 document, also showed Epstein’s plane traveled to many more places than reported.

The newly released documents, redacted in many places, also show that the Marshals Service was actively investigating reports that an air traffic controller in the U.S. Virgin Islands, where Epstein owned a private island, had spotted Epstein traveling multiple times with what appeared to be teenage or preteen girls.

Years later, Epstein’s victims discuss the lasting impact of sexual abuse

Victims of Jeffrey Epstein share the emotional toll that sexual abuse has taken on them — even years after the abuse occurred. Miami Herald reporter Julie K. Brown interviewed the young women, most speaking for the first time about Epstein.

.

A June 24 report from the Marshals Service, two weeks before Epstein’s arrest, indicates that one of its investigators had spoken about this with a Miami Herald investigative reporter, whose name is redacted. The report asserts that the reporter had a confidential source who was a St. Thomas air traffic controller and that the controller had seen Epstein arrive at the airport with girls who appeared to be as young as 12 as recently as 2018. The report says the deputy marshal asked for the name and phone number of the individual and that the reporter provided it at that time.

There was such a meeting on that date involving Miami Herald investigative reporter Julie K. Brown and a deputy U.S. marshal.

However, the Marshals Service documents contain an error. Despite being asked on June 24, Brown did not provide the deputy marshal with the confidential source’s contact information. At the time, she did not know the name — and says she would not have passed it along regardless without the source’s permission. She knew of the then-unidentified person’s existence only through a third party.

By the time of Epstein’s arrest on July 6, 2019, Brown had learned the individual’s identity and occupation — air traffic controller. She made contact at that time, hoping the controller would go on the record with Epstein in jail. The controller did not want to do that, but was interested in talking to marshals — provided that they initiated contact.

At the controller’s direction, Brown passed the controller’s information to marshals on July 9. According to the documents, they called the controller on July 10.

After ‘deafening silence,’ Harvard opens review of Jeffrey Epstein’s ties to university
September 13, 2019 02:30 PM, Updated 1 hour 36 minutes ago
Palm Beach multimillionaire Jeffrey Epstein has been a free man, despite sexually abusing dozens of underage girls according to police and prosecutors. His victims have never had a voice, until now. By Emily Michot | Julie K. Brown
No university or charity or scientific society has been more closely associated in the public eye with Jeffrey Epstein than Harvard University, which received approximately $9 million from him over the years.

And no organization has seemingly been more adamant that it had nothing to explain, nothing to review, nothing to refund — even after Epstein later became the nation’s most notorious sexual predator.

That silence ended Thursday.

After refusing to comment for months on its past associations with Epstein and the money it collected as a result, Harvard released a letter from its president late Thursday stating that the school had opened a review into the matter.

“Epstein’s behavior, not just at Harvard, but elsewhere, raises significant questions about how institutions like ours review and vet donors,” wrote Lawrence S. Bacow, who took over as president in June.

Bacow said the school’s review of Epstein’s connections began two weeks ago, and had turned up funds Epstein gave that are still in use.

This week, the Harvard Crimson student newspaper published an editorial blasting the school for what it called “deafening silence” on the matter. In late November, the Miami Herald reported Epstein had been the beneficiary of a highly unusual non-prosecution agreement. Despite credible claims from dozens of underage girls that Epstein had sexually abused them, the U.S. attorney for Southern Florida discarded a 53-page draft indictment, allowing Epstein to avoid a federal trial and potentially life in prison.

The Herald’s series of stories on Epstein, Perversion of Justice, also explored how then-U.S. Attorney Alexander Acosta — later President Donald Trump’s labor secretary — agreed to keep the non-prosecution agreement secret from Epstein’s victims. The articles brought renewed scrutiny to Epstein’s years of alleged sex trafficking.

Amid that fresh scrutiny, Epstein was arrested the first week of July and was awaiting trial in New York City when he was found dead in his cell Aug. 10. The death was termed a suicide.

The university “absolutely bears the responsibility to make a concrete statement denouncing its ties to Epstein,” the Crimson said in its editorial. It continued, “Not only did [this] silence further Epstein’s reputation while he was alive, it is also unfair to current Harvard students who must live with the knowledge that Epstein touted his affiliation with their school while University administrators stayed — then as now — silent.”

Harvard did not respond to a request from the Miami Herald for additional comment.

Though Epstein gave generously to multiple universities, Harvard was his preferred institution. In his letter, Bacow says that between 1998 and 2007, Epstein’s donations to the school totaled nearly $9 million, including a $6.5 million gift in 2003 to support the school’s Program for Evolutionary Dynamics.

For years, Harvard reciprocated Epstein’s overtures: Photos from 2004 show Epstein socializing with then-President Lawrence Summers and distinguished law professor Alan Dershowitz. Through a representative, Summers declined to comment on Bacow’s letter. Dershowitz did not respond to a request for comment.

Also pictured in the photos is current Harvard psychology professor Steven Pinker. In an email, Pinker said Epstein “would pop up every now and again” at the school or with figures connected to the school.

“I can’t say why Epstein was enamored with Harvard,” Pinker said. “Harvard is of course a brand name among universities. Epstein may just have wanted to add prestigious scientists and professors to his collection of celebrity acquaintances.”

Pinker said that while he found Epstein “annoyingly distractible and unserious,” “...to my bewilderment, he continued to insinuate himself with colleagues at Harvard and elsewhere.”

Bacow also acknowledges the previously unreported fact that in 2005, a former professor named Epstein a visiting fellow in the school’s Department of Psychology. The former professor, Stephen Kosslyn, did not respond to a request for comment.

Bacow said the school had discovered that two sets of Epstein funds, totaling $186,000, were still being put to use through the school’s Faculty of Arts and Sciences, and that it would be redirecting those funds “to organizations that support victims of human trafficking and sexual assault.”

Bacow said the school did not accept any gifts after 2008, when Epstein was convicted on underage prostitution charges in state court in conjunction with the federal non-prosecution agreement, and emphasized that the school specifically rejected a gift from that year.

Barcow said one goal would be to learn how to “prevent these situations in the future.”

COMPUTER CREEPER
Renowned MIT Scientist Defends Epstein: Victims Were ‘Entirely Willing’
MIT bigwig Richard Stallman dismissed Epstein’s underage victims in emails and defended child pornography on his blog.

While MIT engages in damage control following revelations the university’s Media Lab accepted millions of dollars in funding from Jeffrey Epstein, a renowned computer scientist at the university has fanned the flames by apparently going out of his way to defend the accused sex trafficker—and child pornography in general.

Richard Stallman has been hailed as one of the most influential computer scientists around today and honored with a slew of awards and honorary doctorates, but his eminence in the academic computer science community came into question Friday afternoon when purportedly leaked email excerpts showed him suggesting one of Epstein’s alleged victims was “entirely willing.”

DIRTY MONEY
MIT President: Oh Yeah, We DID Cover Up Epstein’s Donations

An MIT engineering alumna, Selam Jie Gano, published a blog post calling for Stallman’s removal from the university in light of his comments, along with excerpts from the email in which Stallman appeared to defend both Epstein and Marvin Minsky, a lauded cognitive scientist and founder of MIT’s Artificial Intelligence Lab who was accused of assaulting Virginia Giuffre. Giuffre has alleged that sex offender and financier Epstein trafficked her to powerful men for sex, including Minsky, who died in 2016. She’s alleged that Epstein and his alleged madam Ghislaine Maxwell recruited her at Mar-a-Lago when she was 16 years old.

Stallman wrote that “the most plausible scenario” for Giuffre’s accusations was that she was, in actuality, “entirely willing.” Vice’s Motherboard later reprinted the emails in full. Gano did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Stallman also wrote in the email exchange that “it is morally absurd to define ‘rape’ in a way that depends on minor details such as which country it was in or whether the victim was 18 years old or 17.”

A deep dive into his writings shows this isn’t the first time Stallman has expressed such questionable views, however. He has written dozens of posts on his personal website in favor of legalizing pedophilia and child pornography for more than 15 years.

“This ‘child pornography’ might be a photo of yourself or your lover that the two of you shared. It might be an image of a sexually mature teenager that any normal adult would find attractive. What’s heinous about having such a photo?” Stallman wrote in 2011 on his personal site, stallman.org, in an argument in favor of Congress limiting laptop searches at the U.S. border.

Stallman currently works as a visiting scientist at MIT, according to the website of the university’s Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Lab (CSAIL), and as the president of the Free Software Foundation, which he founded in 1985. Stallman has been seen as a pioneering computer scientist for decades, especially in his creation of and advocacy for new kinds of freely available software. Much of his work underpins modern computer science. He’s worked at MIT on and off since the 1980s, and he spoke at a Microsoft computer science research center just last week. The Free Software Foundation, Microsoft, and MIT did not immediately respond to requests for comment on Stallman’s remarks.

Stallman also did not respond to a request for comment from The Daily Beast.

Stallman commented on the news of Epstein at length on his personal site. In April of this year, the programmer wrote of one story, “I disagree with some of what the article says about Epstein. Epstein is not, apparently, a pedophile, since the people he raped seem to have all been postpuberal.” He preferred to call Epstein a “serial rapist.”

Chafing at the idea of a legal age of consent was a favorite theme of his, per his earlier blog posts. In 2003, he said, “I think that everyone age 14 or above ought to take part in sex, though not indiscriminately. (Some people are ready earlier.)”

Alan Dershowitz, one of the lawyers who helped broker Epstein’s 2008 sweetheart plea deal, has also argued against age of consent laws, calling statutory rape an “outdated concept” in a 1997 op-ed and suggesting on Twitter in July that a 16-year-old should have the “constitutional right” to consensual sex.

Stallman was apparently also quite open about his ideas not only on age of consent laws, but also pedophilia. In 2006, he wrote, “I am skeptical of the claim that voluntarily pedophilia harms children. The arguments that it causes harm seem to be based on cases which aren't voluntary, which are then stretched by parents who are horrified by the idea that their little baby is maturing.” The law does not allow for “voluntary” pedophilia.

In 2006, he said it wouldn’t so bad for an adult man who worked for the Department of Homeland Security to have sex with a 14-year-old, as one government employee had allegedly propositioned: “Supposing she had voluntarily had sex with him, presuming that they used a condom and suitable contraception, it would have done no harm to either of them.”

He reiterated his point in 2013: “There is little evidence to justify the widespread assumption that willing participation in pedophilia hurts children.”

People within the tech industry knew of Stallman’s remarks, chattering about his controversial claims in social networking sites and forums at least since last year, but his remarks about Epstein’s victims reignited the debate Friday. The digital trail of Stallman’s remarks and the whisper network surrounding them raise the question of whether MIT and the Free Software Foundation knew of his controversial statements.

Stallman’s permissive streak extended to all varieties of illegal sexual behavior. In 2003, he wrote a post about a judge who argued that repealing an Alabama anti-sodomy law would lead to the legalization of "prostitution, adultery, necrophilia, bestiality, possession of child pornography, and even incest and pedophilia.” The computer scientist responded, “All of these acts should be legal as long as no one is coerced. They are illegal only because of prejudice and narrowmindedness.”

Stallman extended his argument to say that internet censorship is worse than child pornography: “The term ‘child pornography’ is dishonest. The censorship of it puts young lovers in direct danger of prosecution. Many published works are disgusting, but censorship is more so.”

And in 2011: “Even when it is uncontroversial to call the subject depicted a ‘child,’ that is no excuse for censorship. Having a photo or drawing does not hurt anyone, so and [sic] if you or I think it is disgusting, that is no excuse for censorship.”

MIT has been rocked in recent weeks by scandals arising from its connections to Epstein. The director of the vaunted MIT Media Lab, Joichi Ito, resigned after the New Yorker reported he accepted more money from Epstein than he disclosed and that he had concealed the donations from both the university and the public. The president of MIT, L. Rafael Reif, ordered an independent investigation, which revealed that he, too, had taken part in hiding Epstein’s donations. Reif is facing calls to step down after acknowledging that the Media Lab accepted funds from Epstein long after his 2008 conviction for soliciting a minor for prostitution, with Reif’s own signature found on a 2012 note thanking Epstein for his generosity to the university.

Ecuador: New President sets Sights on Free Software
by Takver
Tuesday Dec 19th, 2006 6:23 AM
Ecuador seems likely to champion the Free Software movement in migrating Government systems to Free Software, according to a blog report. Rafael Correa, the president-elect of Ecuador in South America met with Richard Stallman of the Free Software Foundation and GNU project on December 12.
Image
According to the report from free software advocate, Rafael Bonifaz:
[…] Stallman spoke [to Correa] for almost 20 minutes nonstop, without Correa saying anything, just listening. After Stallman was finished speaking, there were a few questions and a small conversation ensued, in which both completely agreed and Correa asked his advisors if Ecuador should migrate to free software. Without hesitation, they said yes, and everyone parted with a full-blown smile on their faces, Stallman included […]
According to another report, the president-elect, Rafael Correa in the meeting with Richard Stallman, committed Ecuador to eliminating the censorship of free software in the country.
Richard Stallman was touring Ecuador attending Universities talking about Free Software and the problems of copyright. Stallman rejects the application of copyright laws to ideas and computer science. The GNU General Publication Licence was the first 'copyleft' licence which enabled the Open Source and Free Software/Software Libre Movements to cooperatively build software that respects the freedom of software users.

Of course, making a decision in principle, and succeeding in the implementation are worlds apart. Obstruction by software companies is likely, as well as bureacratic resistance to migrating to new systems.

According to the Rzone Blog page, the challenge is now to form the Ecuadorian Association of Software Libre.

The RZone blog forecasts obstruction: "Initially, proprietary software companies will wield the flag of 'market economies and the freedom to choose'. Which we all know to be duckspeak, because freedom in software is not a matter of dollars but principles."

"Later on in the game, Rafael Correa, and the rest of the free software movement in Ecuador, will face enormous pressure from foreign organizations. That pressure will come in the form of threats of economic sanctions, withholding of privileges, and it might even escalate to blatant coup d’etat attempts."

But the RZone blog is optimistic for the future: "But make no mistake: we will succeed. We will leverage every legal and morally just resource to get there. It’s not just a battle for software: it’s a battle for free culture. Our free culture, which is slowly being eaten away by monopoly interests from unscrupulous people and corporations."

Background

Correa was elected President of Ecuador on November 27, 2006, on a leftist platform with support from much of the countries poor and indigenous. He received 56.7% of the votes against the 43.3% for right-wing opponent, banana tycoon Álvaro Noboa. His presidency will formaly start on Jan 15, 2007 and run for 4 years.

But the Ecuador parliament remains hostile to his program. Correa has repeatedly referred to it as a "sewer" of corruption. Reforming the constitution will also be an up hill battle with a legislature that has sufficient votes to impeach him.

Correa's plan for Government includes the development of the country's transport infrastructure network to boost commercial trade, developing potable water and sewerage services, and other basic services, increasing energy production, and improving Ecuador's agricultural production.

On December 10, Rafael Correa, said that he will not sign a free trade agreement with the United States but will seek extended trade preferences under an anti-drug agreement. This comes after Trade agreement talks between the U.S. and Ecuador derailed in May, after Ecuador canceled the operating contract of California-based Occidental Petroleum Corp.

Correa has also threatened to not renew the lease on a US military base in Ecuador, currently with 400 soldiers stationed and the staging ground for drug surveillance flights. "If they want," Correa has said ironically, "we won't close the base in 2009, but the United States would have to allow us to have an Ecuadoran base in Miami in return."

Ecuador is an oil exporter and Corea has already announced the need to renegotiate contracts, according to a Bloomberg report: "Conditions have changed and some contracts do not reflect that; some old contracts pay almost nothing on producing wells," Correa told reporters at a summit of Latin American leaders in Cochabamba, Bolivia. "We need to make sure that the average returns are sufficient for the needs of the country."

Some commentators belief that Correa will be a pragmatic leader with a number of symbolic and rhetorical gestures to satisfy his supporters while not defaulting on debt or seizing corporate assets. Joseph Stiglitz, a former chief economist at The World Bank said "He knows the realities of global economics,". Indeed, Correa is a US trained economist.

The article says that I reject the application of copyright law to
"ideas and software", but this is not accurate. First, copyright law
never applies to ideas -- it covers only to the details of expression
of a work of authorship. I believe that software users should have
the freedom to run it, study its source code, change it, and
redistribute it. Simply abolishing copyright on software would not
necessarily achieve this.

It is somewhat misleading to speak of "censorship of free software".
Ecuador does not have censorship of free software in the usual sense
of the term, but it has two laws copied from the US which can prohibit
certain kinds of free software (though both of them can also threaten
non-free software).

One of them is similar to the US Digital Millenium Copyright Act: it
prohibits anything that helps people like you and me bypass and escape
from Digital Restrictions Management (a malicious feature found in
iTunes, Vista, and the Tivo; see DefectiveByDesign.org). The other
applies patent law to software techniques, algorithms and features.
Since a large program combines thousands of techniques, algorithms and
features, it surely infringes hundreds of patents, meaning that the
developer has hundreds of chances to get sued.

The correct name of the license that I developed is the GNU General
Public License. For progress on developing version 3 of the GNU GPL,
see gplv3.fsf.org.

14 September 2019 (Statements about Epstein)

I want to respond to the misleading media coverage of messages I posted about Marvin Minsky's association with Jeffrey Epstein. The coverage totally mischaracterised my statements.

Headlines say that I defended Epstein. Nothing could be further from the truth. I've called him a "serial rapist", and said he deserved to be imprisoned. But many people now believe I defended him — and other inaccurate claims — and feel a real hurt because of what they believe I said.

I'm sorry for that hurt. I wish I could have prevented the misunderstanding.

The Epstein Associate Nobody's Talking About: The IDF-Linked Bond Girl Infiltrating the UK NHS
FIFA Corruption, the Panama Papers, the Mossad, and Nicole Junkermann

I have a story to tell you. A story that causes my heart to pound and my blood pressure to rise as I type each and every word. A true story of a woman of great wealth and power, who rode on Jeffrey Epstein’s “Lolita Express” private jet on several occasions. She appears to be a German-born Israeli state intelligence operative based in London. An ex-model whose name appeared in the Panama Papers from the Mossack Fonseca leaks and who became embroiled in a FIFA corruption scandal with Sepp Blatter and his family. She is perhaps the closest example that you could possibly find to a real-life “Bond Girl.” Yet, she is almost completely unknown to the majority of us.

This lady has recently infiltrated the NHS through the UK Department of Health and Social Care with the help of Matt Hancock MP, and her presence signifies a major threat to the data security of every citizen of the United Kingdom. Every single piece of data about you, your health issues, your blood type, the model of the wireless pacemaker keeping you alive, every detail of every embarrassing medical problem in the hands of the Israeli state apparatus and potentially sold off to the highest bidder. You may think that this doesn’t concern you. Why would you need to worry about a foreign far-right government which has been proven to meddle in the affairs of our country? Your data would be useless to them, surely? But that’s not the world we live in anymore. Big data is the modern gold rush. The psychologists and marketing agents have mastered how to make you buy things; the next step is for them to successfully master making you do things, and for that kind of control over people, they need everybody’s data.

When I was first researching the Jeffrey Epstein case, I trawled through every piece of official documentation that was available. I knew what I was looking for and how very dangerous it was. I had begun attempting to identify state assets through their movements, actions, associations, and by good old fashioned detective work. I was interested in identifying any MI5 or MI6 agents, Israeli Mossad, CIA, or any other part of a nation states spying apparatus. It’s possibly one of the most dangerous hobbies on earth, spy hunting, and if I’m honest, I’m not even sure why I’m doing it. Regardless, Jeffrey Epstein’s sweetheart deal was probably what they would give to a foreign intelligence operative. Epstein was a perfect place to begin fishing for potential spooks.

Once I find somebody who I suspect of being involved in espionage, I will track down all existing information on that individual and build the story of their lives as best as I can. I learn every known habit they have and instead of immediately writing an article about them, I just continue to note their activities with interest. I have been watching many potential state actors for a fair few years. I’ve also missed out on breaking a few good stories by waiting for too long. But I don’t want to simply show you the past as much as I want to show you the present, and even possibly, the future.

Investigation Manifest

In the Epstein case, one of the best pieces of evidence which was available to researchers was the flight manifest for his child trafficking molestation machine. There were many coded initials and a few famous names noted in the official documentation. As you probably already know, Bill Clinton and his Secret Service agents had ridden the infamous “Lolita Express” on many occasions. Naomi Campbell, Kevin Spacey, Alan Dershowitz and Chris Tucker also flew on the plane with the billionaire sex offender.

We all build up recognisable patterns of behaviour over time. When you investigate someone, you usually start by identifying these patterns and then looking for any divergences from the anticipated outcomes. In Epstein’s planes flight manifest, a pattern which was visible from the information available is how he would use his private jet. He would use the plane for two main reasons. Most commonly he would fly himself and a number of his entourage to a destination, or alternatively he would fly people to meet him. The rarest occurrence was when Epstein would fly without any of his usual entourage and just one other passenger. There was only one name that jumped out from the flight manifest as a good example of when Epstein alternated from his routine. His second meeting with Nicole Junkermann.

As of 2019, Nicole Junkermann’s current business portfolio is very impressive. She’s often described as an ex-model, entrepreneur and investor, but Ms. Junkermann is much more than just what you see at first glance. Born in Dusseldorf, Germany on 27th April 1975, Nicole Junkermann studied Business Administration at the International University of Monaco, and then went onto study Management Development at the prestigious Harvard Business School in the United States. Amongst her many talents she is multilingual and can speak German, English, French, Italian, and Spanish. In 1998, after graduating from the University of Monaco, she co-founded “Winamax,” which was an early online gaming platform that existed before online gaming regulation became a priority for the authorities. Winamax was sold in 2001 and Junkermann would go on to invest in a recently created media rights company called “Infront Sports and Media AG,” where she would soon serve as the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors.

The then President and Chief Executive at Infront Sports and Media, Phillipe Blatter.
In 2002, Junkermann acquired the rights for the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany with her relatively new company Infront Sports and Media. The company was best known at this time for its president and chief executive, Philippe Blatter, the nephew of Sepp Blatter, the then president of FIFA. This overt nepotistic corruption left Junkermann’s Infront Sports and Media as the company to market the TV rights to major FIFA tournaments. It went on to acquire the rights to all of FIFA’s World Cups, and even though this deal was watered down in 2006, in 2011 FIFA again gave Infront permission to sell the TV rights, in the Asian markets, for the 2018 and 2022 World Cups.

During her time at Infront Sports and Media, Junkermann would be caught flying on Jeffrey Epstein’s “Lolita Express” on three occasions. The first flight recorded, on 22nd March 2002, she would share with Epstein, Sean Koo, and one other passenger, but it’s her second trip which really stands out. On Saturday 31st August 2002, Jeffrey Epstein and Nicole Junkermann would fly from Paris Le Bourget Airport to Birmingham Airport, in the UK, alone. They would return to Paris, via the same route, on Monday 2nd September 2002. For Jeffrey Epstein to fly without any of his normally present entourage is very unusual. So what was happening that weekend? I’ve done a lot of research on these dates, but as of yet, I do not have any answers.

At that time, Junkermann was 27 years old, so it’s very unlikely that they were dating, as everyone knows Jeffrey Epstein isn’t interested in fully sexually developed adults. Finding this anomaly on Epstein’s plane manifest encouraged me to look deeper into the life of Nicole Junkermann, and amongst other things, whether or not she had any links to a state intelligence agency. Were Junkermann and Epstein meeting alone for innocent reasons? Even though Junkerman had made many investments already, she might have been trying to get more funds from an eager investor like Epstein. How Epstein originally accrued his billions is still quite a murky subject in itself.

Whatever the reason for these two incredibly rich people being together, this meeting was a very private one. Junkermann had also just completed Harvard University's Program for Management Development, and Jeffrey Epstein had a high-profile relationship with Harvard which, in 2003, led to him donating $30,000,000.00 to the Ivy League college. Was Epstein using the famous American college to recruit for his own businesses or other interests?

More Epstein later, but firstly, continuing with Junkermann’s career, in 2005 she founded a private equity fund focused on media and sports investments in Asia and Europe called “United in Sports” and managed to raised €242.2 million for the venture in 2007. Her other project, Infront Sports and Media, was ultimately sold to a European private equity firm, Bridgepoint, for €600 million in 2011. In that year Nicole Junkermann had officially become one of the hottest investors in the world. Since her very first acquisitions which I’ve already referred to, Junkermann has invested in or purchased: Shanghai Really Sports, Ziggurat, Thousand-Child, Aloha, Jobbio, Emoticast, Elvie, Auctionata, Coindrum, Spoon Guru, Optiopay, Grabyo, Magnum Global Ventures, Songza, tausendkind, Revolut, Sentient Technologies, Here be Dragons, Soundtrack Your Brand, Groq, Catapult, Delivery Club, Relate IQ, DollarShaveClub, Bruhouse Brewery, Cage Warriors, Eagle Alpha, Gokixx, Rebuy.de, Travelbird, Healthtech Digital, OWKIN, Reporty Homeland Security, and Carbyne911. The latter four of these companies are of significant interest.

The Israeli Intelligence Connection

The link between Nicole Junkermann, the Israeli state intelligence services and the Israeli Defence Force is not a tenuous one. The ominously named “Reporty Homeland Security” was the first incarnation of what is now called “Carbyne911” and is referred to as simply “Carbyne.” Described as a “global leader in public safety technology,” Carbyne is a call handling platform app that allows you to, amongst other things, stream any ongoing emergency directly to the responding emergency services. It claims, in the information section of a promotional video on YouTube entitled “Nicole Junkermann presents Carbyne,” that it will:

“provide a plug and play solution that allows 911 callers to connect their smartphone features to the emergency operator so that the operator can make a better assessment of the emergency. Location data, audio, camera and video access can be shared, providing the operator with greater detail on the situation. The use of Carbyne’s solution will allow emergency management teams to better triage their cases and improve the utilization of downstream emergency services.”
They promise to combine the use of personal data, location data, live video, data from surrounding wearable tech, and even information from parked smart cars, to deliver more information to the emergency services who should be responding. They can pinpoint your location, even indoors, to within three feet, and they claim that they can even collect data from dropped calls. However, they fail to mention how they’ll get the permission to use such masses of available data. Who are these angels behind this revolutionary technology which aims to get between a victim and the emergency services?

One of the directors of Carbyne is Nicole Junkermann. The chairman of the board of directors is Ehud Barak, the 10th Prime Minister of Israel, the 14th Chief of Staff of the Israel Defense Forces, former Minister of Defense and former Head of Military Intelligence for Israel. Ehud Barak has had a long history as one of the more public faces of Israeli covert operations. Before he was Prime Minister, Ehud Barak was a big name in the IDF. Through the 1970’s, he led many operations including famously disguising himself as a woman to kill members of the PLO (Palestinian Liberation Organisation). Ehud Barak has already been linked with Epstein, and Benjamin Netanyahu has helped to highlight those links for his own political gain.

Junkermann's infiltration of the UK NHS and its Big Data

The only tiny picture of the Healthtech Advisory Board from .gov
I watched Nicole Junkermann carefully as she was buying up many start-up tech firms and at the end of 2018 my worst possible fear was realised. Matt Hancock, Member of Parliament for West Suffolk and Secretary of State for Health and Social Care in the UK, appointed Nicole Junkermann to the Healthtech Advisory Board. For the vast majority of people living in the United Kingdom, the NHS is an institution which we cherish and adore. Many of us will protect the National Health Service with our lives because that’s what it has done for us in our darkest days.

The Healthtech Advisory Board is described as a collection of clinicians, academics, and IT experts. The official government website says “the board will look at how the NHS can harness the potential of technology and create a culture of innovation, with the aim of improving patient outcomes and reducing the workload on NHS staff.” It fails to mention why it requires an Israeli intelligence linked venture capitalist who has been involved in multiple scandals. Their first official meeting took place on 19th November 2018—see Appendix I for the other members of the Healthtech Advisory Board.

The two members which are of note relating to this story are Nicole Junkermann and Parker Moss, the latter happening to be the Chief Business Officer at OWKIN, which is one of the many companies in Junkermann’s vast portfolio. OWKIN is an AI startup that uses machine learning to augment medical and biology research. On its own, the company would probably be a perfect fit for the future of the NHS, but because of its connection to Nicole Junkermann and Israeli intelligence, OWKIN should be seen as too much of a risk to the data protection for NHS users.

NJF Holdings website announces NHS big data win
On June 16th 2019, Nicole Junkerman’s NJF holdings website issued an article under the title “London Hospital’s Could Offer Patient Data to Google-backed AI Startup in a Bid to Develop Better Drugs.” It was exactly as I had expected. The convoluted title was celebrating the fact that OWKIN had already been promised NHS patient data, and they’re already confidently announcing it to their investors, and their other associates. We need to call for Matt Hancock to remove Nicole Junkermann from the Healthtech Advisory Board as of immediate effect, and we should have an inquiry into how NHS data can be protected from hostile foreign intelligence agencies.

Junkermann and Epstein - Conclusions

I believe that the future unsealing of previously hidden evidence will confirm that Jeffrey Epstein had been working for multiple intelligence agencies. But he is most likely to have been recruited by the Israeli state. Junkermann has managed to avoid her connections with Epstein being out in the open, until now. But she is skilled at controlling her public profile. Nicole Junkermann has become more powerful over the past eight years, and I have seen negative information relating to her previous scandals being removed from the search results. Go check yourself. Type in Nicole Junkermann on Google search and go through all the articles which appear. They are overwhelmingly positive, or simply relate to one of her businesses, and this is very different to what you would have found only a few years ago. When I first started investigating Nicole Junkermann, there were many negative articles which have all but vanished. I’m not even sure that this story will survive.

So, I ask you all to share this and publish it on your blogs and websites, and to bring the name Nicole Junkermann into the public eye.

Also, if I disappear anytime soon, remember. It was probably the Mossad.

Appendix I

The other Healthtech Advisory Board members include Rachel Dunscombe, who was the CEO of the NHS Digital Academy and Director for Digital for Salford Royal NHS Group, but since being appointed to the Healthtech Advisory Board, she has also joined KLAS Arch Collaborative as their Global (non-US) Leader and Senior Tech Evangelist. Lets go through some of the details on the story above.

First her FIFA ties.

Chairman of the board is Epstein pal, Ehud Barak, who is circled in the bb and was spotted outside of Epstein's NY building in 2016. He also has admitted to visiting his island.

Later version of that DM story did id him thanks to many of us talking about it here on twitter :P

The Ties That Bind: Ehud Barak’s Business Network
An Israeli emergency response startup chaired by the former Israeli prime minister links U.S.-based businessman Andrew Intrater, one of the suspects of the Mueller investigation, and American multimillionaire Jeffrey Epstein, currently at the center of an underage sex trafficking scandal

Tomer Ganon, Amir Kurz, and Ran Abramson 17:5018.07.19
Update, Friday August 30, 2019: U.S.-based businessman Andrew Intrater is a business partner and backer of former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak’s emergency response startup Carbyne Ltd. Intrater is also one of the key figures questioned by Special Counsel Robert Mueller and his team in connection to the alleged Russian interference in the 2016 U.S. presidential election.

Intrater, who is related to Russian businessman Viktor Vekselberg (a man who has been designated by the U.S. Department of the Treasury as suspected of supporting "malign activity” perpetrated by the Russian government), was questioned due to conspicuous money transfers to—and close ties with—Michael Cohen, Donald Trump's former lawyer and confidant, who is currently serving a sentence for fraud and violation of campaign finance laws.

According to information collected the Mueller investigative team, Intrater was questioned about a transfer of $583,000 to Cohen through investment firm Columbus Nova Technology Partners (CNTP), designated by the Mueller team as an affiliate of Moscow-based asset management company Renova Group, which is owned by Vekselberg. According to the search warrants for Cohen's documents, CNTP has made seven payments to Cohen, each of $83,000, between January and August of 2017. During that time, Cohen and Intrater had maintained close contact, exchanging 320 phone calls and 920 text messages between election day in November 2016 and July 2017. Carbyne was incorporated in 2014 as Reporty Homeland Security Ltd., before rebranding in early 2018. Barak, who invested $1 million in the company in 2015, serves as its chairman. Carbyne develops a cloud-based platform that allows emergency dispatchers to receive GPS data, video and audio transmission, and to use texting services to supplement voice-in distress calls. The Tel Aviv-based company has raised nearly $22 million to date according to Pitchbook data, from backers including Peter Thiel’s venture capital firm Founders Fund. Carbyne company documents reviewed by Calcalist show that Intrater entered as an investor in September 2017, having bought 24% of Carbyne’s series A-1 preferred stock. To facilitate his own investment in Carbyne (then still named Reporty), Barak formed a limited partnership that he incorporated as Sum (E.B.) 2015. Sum owns 100% of Carbyne’s series A preferred stock. Jeffrey Epstein, the American multimillionaire businessman now at the center of an underage sex trafficking scandal, is another partner at Sum, having invested money into the venture as early as 2015, as first reported last week by Haaretz.
Ehud Barak's business network Ehud Barak's business network
On Sunday, Israel's national broadcaster Kan reported that Epstein had invested $1 million in Sum in 2016, through a British Virgin Islands-registered company named Southern Trust. An additional investment of $500,000 was funneled into Sum in 2016, from another British Virgin Islands-registered company, Montilla International. Among the stakeholders in Montilla is Nicole Junkermann, a London-based entrepreneur and investor. She is the owner of NJF Capital Ltd., which invests in tech and media companies. In 2017, Junkermann was appointed to Carbyne’s board of directors, where she serves alongside Barak and other members, including Carbyne co-founder and CEO Amir Elichai and Pinhas Buchris, the former director of Israel’s Unit 8200. Barak and Intrater have known each other for at least five years. The two served on the board of New York-based asset management company CIFC LLC. According to SEC filings, Intrater joined CIFC in 2010, and Barak in 2014. Vekselberg was one of the main stakeholders in CIFC. "Andrew Intrater is a legitimate businessman,” Barak Told Calcalist Wednesday. “I did not bring him to Carbyne, but it is possible he heard about it from me.” CIFC was delisted in November 2016, after being acquired by F.A.B. Partners for $333 million. Both Barak and Intrater used that opportunity to sell off their stake in CIFC at a rate of $11.46 per share. Barak had 20,000 shares at the time, and Intrater 7,000. In response to Calcalist’s request for a comment, a spokesperson from Carbyne said that the company is glad of Barak’s involvement. The company founders and employees have never been in contact with Barak’s other business partners, and met only with Barak and his lawyers in regards to his investment in the company, the spokesperson said, adding that the company operates in compliance with the law. In response to Calcalist’s request for a comment, a spokesperson from Barak’s political party, The Israel Democratic Party, said that Barak does not intend to engage with media spins.
Andrew Intrater did not respond to Calcalist request for comment.

Clarification: Mueller did not include any findings regarding Vekselberg's involvement in the public component of his investigation report.

Meir Orbach assisted with the reporting.

In 2018, she was appointed to the UK's Healthtech Advisory Board. Don't really know much about the UK health care system, but I agree with the story that giving this lady with her ties to Barak, Epstein and others, the data of potentially millions is probably not the best idea.

Mazars and Deutsche Bank could have ended this nightmare before it started.
They could still get him out of office.
But instead, they want mass death.
Don’t forget that.
