Military Mum on Nature of "Big Missile" Rising Out of Pacific - a Possible Show of U.S. Military Might

(CBS) A mysterious missile launch off the southern California coast was caught by CBS affiliate KCBS's cameras Monday night, and officials are staying tight-lipped over the nature of the projectile.

CBS station KFMB put in calls to the Navy and Air Force Monday night about the striking launch off the coast of Los Angeles, which was easily visible from the coast, but the military has said nothing about the launch.

...

"It's spectacular… It takes people's breath away," said Ellsworth, calling the projectile, "a big missile".

Magnificent images were captured by the KCBS news helicopter in L.A. around sunset Monday evening. The location of the missile was about 35 miles out to sea, west of L.A. and north of Catalina Island.

A Navy spokesperson told KFMB it wasn't their missile. He said there was no Navy activity reported in the area Monday evening.

I'm fairly certain everybody knows 'we can do that'.

This is troubling but I'm not sure why.

There seems to be a spiral exhaust trail on that. Is it secretly an alternate dimension technology?

I think that's a Chinook (observing the launch?).

Found a comment on reddit that led me to this lady:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baba_Vanga

According to comment this woman or prophetess, foresaw that WWIII is to start tomorrow, Nov 10, 2010.

I also found this at abovetopsecret:
Hi, im sure alot of you have heard of baba vanga and her predictions.

Well, i was researching her, when i came upon a website that clears it all up:

vanga.yolasite.com...

Vanga never predicted all these crazy things, she's just a health healer that is well respected by those close to her.

Which brings me to my point,

Does someone want us to THINK something is going to happen in november and why? i mean from alex jones to webbot to timewave zero and FAKE prophesies by baba vanga.... if baba vanga's prophesies are BS, then most likely so are all the others.. i guess we will wait and see, but baba vangas prophecy can be considered

DEBUNKED

edit to add: remember that thread about nuclear explosion based on simpsons episode? wasnt it fishy it had such a large amount of flags and "lurkers, first time posters" i was even caught up in it myself for a second with all the hype.. so who wants us to think something is gonna happen and why they want us to think that?

Predictions:

2010 – World War III. War will begin in November 2010 and end in October 2014. Will begin as usual, then nuclear will be used initially, and then chemical weapons.

2011 – As a result of the fallout of nuclear fallout in the northern hemisphere will not be any animals or vegetation. Then Muslims will wage war against chemical surviving Europeans.

2014 – Most people will suffer skin cancer and other skin diseases (a consequence of chemical warfare).

2016 – Europe almost lonely (empty).

2018 – New China becomes a world power. Developing countries in turn operated from exploiters.

2023 – A little bit of change in the Earth’s orbit.

2025 – Europe still little settled.

2028 – Creating a new energy source (probably a controlled thermonuclear reaction). Hunger is gradually being overcome. Launched a manned spacecraft to Venus.

Good input there 82_28.

Yeah, something strange about the time of all this 'hype'. Dunno.

The wingery is getting into it. Michelle Malkin for one is comparing it to "Scareforce One". (Which was weird in it's own right)

Oooookay.

So the Pentagon has no explanation for the mystery missile spotted off the southern California coast last night.

“The operative word is ‘unexplainable,’” a Pentagon spokesman said.

I guess they’ll tell us the “system is working.”

Perhaps the most interesting theory: Obama was showing off to Asia while on his jaunt.

So why not just be upfront with the American people and say so?

Well, we know this administration already has a pre-existing problem with leveling with the American people about unidentified flying objects involved in p.r. campaigns.

Remember Scare Force One? That transparency-evading scandal led to the resignation of White House Military Office director Louis Caldera.

Stay tuned…

Pentagon spokesman on mystery missile: 'We've come up empty with any explanation,' but 'are not alarmed about this until we know more'

Isn't the time before you know more usually the proper time for alarm?

I've been monitoring twitter too. Some are bringing up the stranded cruise ship along with it. Not saying it was hit by a missile, but "counterbalance" or something?
