5 years ago I got rid of cable, and the TV that I had didn't have an antenna so I couldn't actually use it for anything other than occasionally watching a DVD or playing a bit of Super Nintendo. Last month I finally got rid of the TV. It felt pretty great. Maybe in a few years I'll regret not being able to play Mario Kart anymore, but I doubt it.

Me? Paranoid? I cover my smart-phone with a towel, a kleenex, etc., when I'm in the shower. Unless I'm in a "public" area like the kitchen or living room, I keep it away from me & wear a bluetooth ear-piece. I need it, but I'm always aware that it's potentially someone else's eyes and ears.

Like Dr. Volin said: "duct tape". Or a band-aid or a sticky-note, or a little round sticker that fits over the lens, or something. For pete's sake.

The very first thing my son did when he got his new laptop was cover that camera. I've never been paranoid, but I did teach him to be aware and vigilant about everything. He also ditched his FB page after watching a documentary about it not long after he'd set it up.

@WIRED

Turns out the CIA is able to hack your Samsung TV. Here's how to tell if it's being used to watch or record you
