None of them, even Jenna or some shit. After watching that speech I can imagine why. All Obama talked about was civil rights and ending wars oh and climate change.
But the tell all was that the Bushes couldn't be bothered to show up.
Central casting decision? Or something legitimately partisan and the question of how crazy the right needs to get in order to maintain their power? Or just how big the Bush people are douchebags and turncoats they always have been?
I'm just wondering what the long game is on this. The Bush people are STILL in power, yet cannot, none of them, make it to Obama's inauguration.
My take away overall is that it is awesome to see so many "cultures" welcomed nowadays and I am stoked about that. Racism, one must admit is totally out these days.
But the Bush assholes, not even bothering to show up? Something is up there. Keep your right wing radar dish clean, because after that, you know the wingnut media are going nuts right now about what was said in that speech.

They only show up when there's a killin' planned....

[Over 50] years ago, in the height of the Kennedy era, a competitive George Bush was heard to say: "Just wait 'til I turn these Bush boys out."

(Moreover, Obama's 2nd inaugural speech read to me like has been watching him some Oliver Stone Untold History of the United States or something. That "strength though negotiating enemies into solid bonds of friendship" stuff is what most reliably gets US politicians and leaders killed or otherwise spectacularly sidelined!)

They sent their "regrets" as to not accepting the invitation. Dubya is rumored to have "chosen" to stay by poppy Bush's bedside as he is ailing. Oh, fucking sure right.
But it's not just the "invitation". We're talking about the legacy and history of this country, which sadly the Bushes happen to be a part of. Yet, just couldn't make it to a self same figure being sworn in as they were and all presidents through history. They clearly are above us. No matter how much I cannot stand Obama, the arrogance of the Bushes is fucking sickening and symptomatic of something else -- which could still be to come after all of their destruction they've already accomplished.

To me, right now, the Bushes seem truly corrupt/evil and Obama seems basically weak and being used to do evil (and to fail to do anywhere near all the good he could be doing, which frustrates me every bit as much as the drone strikes). The outcome of both of these kinds of people holding great power is, of course, more evil in the world, but to me there seems to be a difference in their natures. This, of course, is personal opinion from someone who discerns many, many types/gradations of bad people, not just a few and rarely or never "either/or." I can imagine someone like Obama being very different in a parallel reality, but not the Bush clan...they appear to be bred and raised to be what they are and I'll be very surprised if we ever see one who's benign.
But I was surprised when they declined the inauguration invitation. Usually, the "Big Lizards" ape normal human behavior better than that. Which makes me wonder what they're up to...

They had one of the Bush girls on a MSM "news" show this a.m.; can't remember if it was the Toady Show or the one Matt Liar is on...anyhoo, she was there as a "commentator" or sump'n. Didn't pay a lot of attention cuz it was on in this waiting room. Pretty revolting.

Yeah, Neon, it was probably Jenna Bush and on Today. She's an on again, off again fluff story correspondent for the Today Show. I didn't see it, as I was watching on CBS, which really, if you absolutely have to watch the TV and are interested in the news and shit in the morning is THE ONLY network to watch. They got Charlie Rose and stuff and they do some pretty interesting in depth lengthy reporting on various issues.
But yeah, I've seen Jenna Bush on Today and just the mere sight of her makes me wanna puke as she indeed looks like a hybrid clone of dubya and Laura -- which I suppose she is.

I for one will support and welcome Obama with open arms if today, right now he starts going full on progressive, FU to the rightwing, truly forward for America. Push much needed public works, reign in the CIA/drones/etc, push forward much needed new laws, etc. It's good to hear his speech peppered with such positive things, as empty or too unattainable as they may be. Even if it's all scripted, I enjoy seeing the bummer look on the scowls of the GOP faithful. And maybe there really is internal dislike of Obama by the Bushes. While Bolton, Kristol, etc and the neocons support Obama, Cheney does not.
Yeah, ok it's dangerous to be truly progressive in the white house. But so what. You work your whole life to be the president, why leave a legacy of wishy washyness. Today as Americans celebrate MLK day, I wonder if MLK would have done much differently.

they wouldn't have been welcome anyway, they showed uncharacteristic class in removing their odious presence.

I'm not excusing the Bush Crime Family, but there's not any evidence that he was in Dallas on 11/22/63.
