The Wormwood Star is visible!

Postby thurnundtaxis » Mon Aug 12, 2013 5:23 pm

After decades of dormancy this 1955 film by director, Curtis Harrington, has surfaced on Youtube. A fantastic portrait of an absolutely amazing woman whose relative obscurity as an artist belies a very important yet nearly completely unregarded influence upon the 1960's counter-culture in California. Cameron was an essential midwife attendant at the new aeon's birthing if one were to reference her accomplishments as an occultist. As an artist she was of tremendous influence upon Kenneth Anger and her social circuit in the late 1940's included many West Coast luminaries in the arts, from jazz musicians to science-fiction writers, actors, painters, poets, and occultists, as well as scientists and mil-intel types, the sum of whose collective works would form California's subsequent beat and psychedelic cultures which have arguably augmented the development of pop culture at large.

Interestingly, the majority of the artworks seen in this film were destroyed by her own hand in a ritualized conflagration, now they have reappeared via the posting of this rare footage allowing them the opportunity to be viewed by a global audience in a fashion that their original form could not attend.

Possibly triggering?

...

I like the spoken word.

Dark Star I seek you in all the endless rooms of the universe.
I have entered the maze of chaos and searched the promises no end and no fulfillment.
But I have seen your helmeted head flashing gold from all the bloody triumphant sunsets of the world.
I have heard your voice singing lonely songs of desire in the whirlwind...

Radiant warrior.

Beloved God.

How long.

How long...

Plus I dig chicks that look like Vulcans.

Thanks for the link man.

Empowering, not triggering! At first I thought, "how pretentious." and What is it about certain people that draws them to the "occult" practices as performed by Crowley, and his ilk, Jack Parsons, and Hubbard? (Babalon working, of which Marjorie Cameron was a part). I have known people who mess around with this stuff because it makes them feel "special." But as the film progresses, it hypnotizes and opens a door into another realm. Thanks for sharing!

Here is a poem of mine.

All rights reserved to the original author.

The Peerless Invocation of Thoth-Hermanubis.

...
The Breeze doth blow o'er Waters Pure.
The Fire doth Dance! Earth Endure!
The Ibis King doth Flex his Fingers,
And Calls the Spirits of Dead Ringers.

The Swift descends in Blazing Glory
And melts the Rhyme Frost, Cold and Whorey.
His helm is Gold, his Visage Bright!
Ascendant is the Lord of Light!

Finally shalt come the Judge,
Whose Verdict may no Mortal Fudge.
The Dervish Digits Snap, Pop and Crackle!
The Word doth Foreshadow The Jackal.

(Poem no:49)

Piping Loud.

...
Desiring to bring Benefit,
To all the Bene Gesserit,
My Flute doth Sway Just like Snake Charmer
To Conjure up the sensuous lamia.

If dismal Airs make thee Lament,
Learn to Play New Instrument!
Blow Bright Pink Flute of Wood so Solid,
Spray lustrous Arc o'er Life so Stolid!

Gelf's Panpipe sounds a Plaintive Theme.
Awaken, Gelfling, from Thy Dream!
I Whistle Notes of Fresh New Page!
Who will Pay Pied Piper's Wage?

A couple more maybe.

It is actually on topic.

All rights reserved to the original author.

...

(Poem No:8)

The Worm that Turned.

...
Picking up my Wormwood Wand,
I Turn it Over in my Hand.
It's Wood is of the Hazel Tree,
Or so it doth Appear to me.

I lay the Bricks that Raise my Tower,
My Four Arms Knotted like the Rower,
Who Pulls along the Midnight Stream,
Who Knows that Life is but a Dream.

I Plumb the Depths with Stone and Line,
Winter's Triangle doth Align.
I taste the Coldness of the Draught.
Two Face doth See Fore and Aft.
...

(Poem No:72)

Mourning Star (Pinpoint Accuracy).

...
If dost Hear Lyric beyond thy Ken,
Shalt thou then Word to Madness liken?
But harken to Herald of New Age!
Though be Just Words of Rustling Page.

Life's Author doth adore a Joke,
Though sometimes on Punch Line he doth Choke.
For Cosmic Giggle be Strangled Cry,
When all thy Hopes and Dreams doth Die.

Now Slip the Surly Bonds of Matter!
Become Mad! Madder!! Than Hatter!
Four Black Star Riders Bound for Glory!
Sage knows Secrets of Hunky Dory.
...

Always dancing on the edge, man.

Plus you noticed I was an imp!

Good!

I just need to know where I can meet a nice girl like Marjorie.

I guess I'll have to wait to get out of the nut house first.

I'm an impatient in patient.

I'm fuckin' funny though.

Go read my poems!

'Tis Old Crow's face looks back at me from the polished mirror!

Old Crow not so bad!

Not as good lookin' as me though!

Ha ha ha!

Fat, florid face.

Mine more beatific.

More elven!

I've been watching the Netflix series Wormwood which details the death of Frank Olson and its effects on his family. Frank was apparently "suicided" by the CIA as he came to realize the US use of bio-weapons in Korea (a contentious issue of its own right) was grotesquely immoral and could not continue his work in this field. Sidney Gottlieb was part of this operation that Frank worked for and paints an interesting picture of him. Seems Cheney and Rumsfeld brought their love of lies, deceit, and heartlessness to the field as well stopping the family from finding out the truth regarding their father's death.

The quote is from Revelation by the way, a shooting star is suppose to fall into the ocean by the name of Wormwood that poisons the waters and kills off a third of Earth's population. Lovely.
