Speaking of his song Dreamweaver Gary Wright stated the 1976 hit seemed to flow out of him "as if written by an unseen force."

Songs that came to musicians in dreams. If you think they are figuring it out rationally think again.

Mike Pinder of the rock band Moody Blues was asked if he was interested and if he had a UFO experience. He replied,
Pinder: Yes, absolutely. I have always been interested. Being a WW2 baby – I was born in 41. There were things happening in those days. Right from childhood, my nickname in school was “Micky the Moon Boy.” In 1966 with the original band we were driving back to London from a show in Manchester and we all had a UFO experience. There was a red light following us. It was like 3:00 in the morning. No one was around. Clint Warrick, who was the original base player was driving and I was in the back seat. I used to like to just lie back and put my head back so I could look through the windshield and look at the stars. I was just doing that and I noticed this red light in the sky and I said “Hey, fellows look at this. Check that out”
We just thought that it was a red light from a radio tower . It’s got a red light on the top there. We are doing probably 85 mph trying to get home but the red light stayed in the same place. We didn’t go past it. The freeway went through this wooded area and I said “pull over, pull over.” We pulled over and the red light had disappeared from the sky, and we saw this glowing reddish orange light through the woods where we had pulled over. The next thing we know we had gotten back into the car and zoomed off back to London. We were three hours late.
“We receive our songs like inspiration, like at a séance. People say they write songs but in a way you are more the medium. I feel that all the songs are floating around, and it is just a matter of being like an antennae, of whatever you pick up. So many uncanny things have happened to us. A whole new song appears from nowhere in five minutes, the whole structure and you haven't worked at all." Keith Richards from the Rolling Stones

Meek was also fascinated by the occult: on one occasion in February 1958 after attending a séance, Meek believed he had information about the imminent death of one of his American rock idols, Buddy Holly. Since he was touring the UK at the time, Meek felt compelled to warn Holly personally. As it turned out, he was wrong, but only just: Holly’s fated plane ride took place a year later, to the day, of Meek’s premonition.
