It doesn't get any better than this.

http://scarfolk.blogspot.com/

Scarfolk is a town in North West England that did not progress beyond 1979. Instead, the entire decade of the 1970s loops ad infinitum. Here in Scarfolk, pagan rituals blend seamlessly with science; hauntology is a compulsory subject at school, and everyone must be in bed by 8pm because they are perpetually running a slight fever. "Visit Scarfolk today. Our number one priority is keeping rabies at bay." For more information please reread.

still see some of those earnest pelican dirges in lesser charity shops (not so much) & cobwebby
failed 2nd hand bookshops - you'd pick them up, wonder if its possible to read anything so turgid, fail to make it
through a whole paragraph.........they cant give em away....

wicked satire

This is amazing. I'd like to think I have a full suite of those old Pelican covers on my tumblr, but now I'll be throwing these in the mix.

Just dropping by to let folk know that the Island of Terror blog is also top class. It's different from the Scarfolk Council site, far more concerned with reviews of old Britsploitation films and real (often creepy) Public Information shorts, but it has a similar commitment to humorous hauntology.

Fascinatingly banal old picture postcards, clips from the BBC of Jack Hargreaves talking about his attempts to grow giant onions, and mindbogglingly racist banned episodes of The Professionals (Bodie kicks it old school when it comes to prejudice) are also featured.

This being RI, probably the best introduction to Island of Terror would come from this post about a Jimmy Savile interview (is this confirmed?) appearing in the "Sex" issue of the official magazine of the Process Church of the Final Judgement:
