Years ago I submitted my writing (also tried other people's writing) to a gender writing analysis site on the web, something like this one http://www.hackerfactor.com/GenderGuesser.php and it was fairly accurate.

Fairly accurate?

Please explain. I'm not sure where in gender hierarchy that falls.

About Gender Guesser
In 2003, a team of researchers from the Illinois Institute of Technology and Bar-Ilan University in Israel (Shlomo Argamon, Moshe Koppel, Jonathan Fine, and Anat Rachel Shimoni) developed a method to estimate gender from word usage. Their paper described a Bayesian network where weighted word frequencies and parts of speech could be used to estimate the gender of an author. Their approach made a distinction between fiction and non-fiction writing styles.

A simplified version of this work was implemented as the Gender Genie (no longer available). They showed that fewer words were needed and that writing styles varied based on the forum. For example, fiction and non-fiction differs from blogs (informal writing). Even though the genres differ, there are still gender-specific word frequencies.

This Gender Guesser system is heavily based on the Gender Genie. In particular, the word lists and weights are reproduced from the Gender Genie. The Gender Guesser extends the interpretation of informal writing to work on blogs and chat-room messages, and combines formal writing styles (fiction, non-fiction, essays, news reports, etc.). It also looks for weak emphasis -- used to distinguish European English from American English. In general, if the difference between male and female weight values is not significant (a "weak" score), then the author could be European. This is because the weight matrix is biased for distinguishing genders in American English.

This poll is too ambiguous and limited.

What do you mean, gender, or physical sex? If the latter, it's transphobic to even ask, so don't. If the former, thanks to queer theory and identity politics, there are dozens of categories, because it's all about an internal process of self identification nowadays, we can't go around having any critiques of class-based oppression, oh no. If anyone even dare to suggest that gender is a socially constructed set of behaviors that reinforces a hierarchy based on physical sex, well, die in a fire you evil TERF! And woo-hoo, Caitlyn Jenner is "woman" of the year. :wallhead:

I am a woman, and I am female. Sometimes I am gender conforming, and sometimes I am not. Fuck all this other shit, as there's no need for it if we'd all focus on taking down the gender hierarchy.

Re: Which gender are you?

Postby mentalgongfu2 » Wed Nov 18, 2015 2:12 am

I do not understand the variety of modern gender constructs and don't know if I am capable of doing so, though I have tried. I'm no prude and very open minded, but the complexities others seem to experience evade me. The physical differences in genitalia seemed like a relatively black and white concept and one that is easy to comprehend and distinguish, but it seems we are far beyond that in American society. I can empathize on a theoretical level with those who feel they are trapped in a gender definition that does not adequately represent them, but it falls apart for me when it delves into drugs or surgery to alter oneself to better represent the person's internal perceptions. When my friend Maggie announced she was becoming Seth, I was and still am at a loss. I respect the decision as an autonomous person, I still love and care for zie, but I find myself completely unable to relate to this change, try as I might. It is difficult for me to accept someone I knew as a female named Maggie identifying as a male named Seth. It seems it's harder for me to deal with than it is for the person involved. Seth seems quite sure of who he is, while I am left wondering what happened to the girl I knew. I'll accept and respect it, but I don't get it. I have no point to make, only sharing my own befuddled perspective.

Re: Which gender are you?

Postby 82_28 » Wed Nov 18, 2015 6:35 am

I think that long list is kinda convoluted. There's no reason for all those ambiguous categories. I have many gay friends but they're still just dudes and chicks to me and to themselves too. I have a friend who (I believe) is transgendered and she is just a she (nobody asks). My boss is gay but she is a she when speaking of her or to her. My brother says he's always identified as female -- he told me last month in fact. Even though he's a he and has sired 4 times more kids than I have. In other words, the question in the poll was straightforward. I looked at the question as a sort of roll/role call of the board out of curiosity. In fact, if someone told me they are a, let's see here I will pick one out of the hat, a "Bent" I would ask them what the fuck is that? I've got no fucking idea.

Look at languages as well. Many languages have feminine and masculine descriptors. It's pretty much cut and dry. The only language I can barely speak other than English is Spanish and when speaking Spanish you have to modify your words in order to differentiate to who you are referring also neutral terms have genders built in. Ellos y Ellas. Loco y Loca. And so on. When you take your cat (el gato o la gata) to the vet the first question is or first thing the vets look for is what gender they are so they can get proper treatment. My dearly departed dog was a female but I had to get her spayed. They cracked her open and found no ovaries, thus she had been spayed previously. It really is black and white, not a long list of arcane definitions.
There is no me. There is no you. There is all. There is no you. There is no me. And that is all. A profound acceptance of an enormous pageantry. A haunting certainty that the unifying principle of this universe is love. -- Propagandhi

Add these "modern gender constructs" to the push for universal confusion, to the current surreal, ambiguous, convoluted, morally relative, reality-challenged enveloping atmosphere that pretends to be freedom-loving in America today. I'm sure transgendered people, hermaphrodites (very rare), etc. have existed since the very beginning of time, however, they are an infinitesimally small minority and I doubt that's changed, yet social engineers, the deviant elite are pushing this meme to the extreme. They're using the transgender population to push their "gender neutral" agenda. Why?

It's certainly not because of their compassion/empathy for this tiny minority, although that's what they want you to believe. No, they're pushing this meme down our throats because it serves their overall agenda. Off the top of my head, I can think of a couple of reasons:

One, it gives the illusion of freedom. If we can choose from these modern gender constructs, we must be free, right?

Two, it further obfuscates by denying certain immutable truths, and heightens the ambiguous, and convoluted Orwellian narrative that they're trying to create..."war is peace", "freedom is slavery", "males are females", "females are males"...

Three, by undermining gender as a defining determinant of human identity, they're undermining personal identity, because identity is inextricably linked to gender. (Males cannot give birth, cannot breast feed, etc...their biological nature is not as conducive to nurture as a female's a nature. That's a biological fact. Are we supposed to ignore it? In my humble opinion, the feminist movement does, indeed, ignore it. Because the only kind of women valued today are ones who act like traditional males. Mothers are the least valued members of society...highest stats for poverty, etc. In other words, overall, traditional male traits are still highly valued whether in a male or a female, while traditional female traits are not valued)

Four, it supports the superficial materialistic consumer mentality...everything can be solved with money to purchase whatever it is that will solve your problem.

Five, it's a great way to push transhumanism

It's a mind-fuck. That's all I'm saying. They're trying to throw the baby out with the bathwater.

"In a time of universal confusion, stating the obvious is a revolutionary act."

Their paper described a Bayesian network where weighted word frequencies and parts of speech could be used to estimate the gender of an author.

I always thought gender was the sum of the physical parts a person was born with and that the rest was a sexual preference, which is best left unspoken about and not trumpeted to the whole world, unless you buy into the media hype that 99% of the population actually cares what 2 or 3% of the population who decide to have sexual preferences outside of their born gender roles actually do with their genitals. Or for that matter, what people within their born gender roles do with their genitalia.

I don't care what people choose to do with their genitalia, and I don't know many people that really do, in the real world, unless they buy the media hype, and I choose to stay away from those people that seem to think it actually matters.

If people would just keep their mouth shut about what they do when they take their pants off, and funnily enough the overwhelming majority of people do exactly that, nobody would know or care. The rest is media hype designed for confusion and intentional strife to create chaos, confusion, and bullshit. A better mainstream media topic would be how many starving children live in poverty, or how many people are killed by cops, which is something most people would actually care about. Seems simple to me...

I'm in a weird mood today. Baysein Adventures...My mother always told me not to stare directly at the Sun, and so I did, anyway, and ended up blind...

Analemma of the Sun
Posted on February 26, 2014

I recently read that to date, Mount Everest has been scaled 1924 times.

Compare this figure to the number of people who have successfully captured the Analemma of the Sun. Any guesses? 1000, maybe 500? Nowhere even close. According to the founder of this website, in the entire history of mankind, not more than 20 people have managed to get it right.

This is the first ever photograph that successfully captured the Analemma. It was taken over a period of one year by Dennis di Cicco in 1978.

Image

So what is the Analemma of the Sun? Simply put, if you look at the sun, from the same place on earth, at the exact same time everday, it’s position will shift slowly over the period of the entire year, slowly tracing out a figure-of-eight shape in the sky.

Wow, seems like gender identity issues are a bit of spooky action at a distance even for many otherwise sophisticated parapolitical renegades!

I have to admit that gender bending can make me uncomfortable sometimes, but I wouldn't have gone down the rabbit hole in the first place if I thought it was a good idea to trust your first and "most natural" ie. most comfortable impulses.

Shutting up about sexuality? Yeah, that's always led to beautiful things... Yeah, it could be globalist elites aiming to break up the family and drive their transhumanist agenda or it could be sexuality is one of the most primordial, sensitive, innermost parts of us and even when we're sure that nothing is as we were taught by our parents and in our school and that there's a global deep state nexus running the show, we're most afraid that if we go poking around THERE we may just... implode, break apart, shatter, lose ourselves.

Against my better judgment, I am responding to this poll.

I am unapologetic and proud to answer "male". (That is not to say that I wouldn't be equally unapologetic and proud to answer "female" if it were the case.)

There is too much male-bashing in society, and there is a fair bit of it here as well. It is true that males are less nurturing than females, and therefore we kind of suck when it comes to dealing with toddlers, or any emotions that are typically experienced by toddlers. Statistically speaking. On the other hand, though we get a lot of bad press for being aggressive and confrontational, the flip side of that is that males are more naturally oriented towards setting and defending boundaries. That means that from a child-rearing perspective, though we may not offer the warm-and-fuzzies, we are the natural "protectors", in both a physical and social sense. Children need fathers, because fathers help children enter into the social sphere, which (among other things) involves appropriate boundary-setting.

This is all, of course, statistically speaking. Individual men and women will vary in their talents.

I leave you with this question: might there be any reason, from a social engineering perspective, to generally undermine qualities that are typically associated with males?

I'm neutered. Sometimes the presence of an absence is felt, but then STICK.... fucking TENNIS BALL.... it's a great life if you don't weaken.

Curious if you are the lone 'female' respondent?

Someone else voted female before I did. I can think of maybe half a dozen women posting here regularly, it's always been a predominantly male board. Is the poll just curiosity or are you working on a specific idea?
