Semiautomatic weapon, to be technically correct.

(I haven't seen anything about "full auto" modifications. If there had been any, we'd have heard it on the news a zillion times.

They supposedly ATTEMPTED to make them full-auto but failed.

Seems like it would have been easier just to get slide-fire / bump-fire attachments - I can't tell if those are legal in Cali or not.

California Legal Full auto ... How to Bumpfire AR-15

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IUHsAku0sRg

The suspects in Wednesday's mass shooting in San Bernardino, California, used a weapon that appears to have been modified in an attempt to allow it to fire fully automatic, a senior law enforcement source told NBC News.

Government field tests showed that the modification to fully automatic mode was performed but failed, the source said.
...
The weapon that was attempted to be modified to fully automatic is believed to have been used by Farook, the source said.

A second rifle believed to have been possessed by Malik was purchased compliant with strict California gun laws, the source said. It was subsequently changed to have a large-capacity detachable magazine which would be illegal under California law, the source said.

Jesus, it took four LA Times hacks to compose that truly execrable copy, a fifth hack "assisted" with it, and an editor then passed it as fit for human consumption. It is trash fiction. I wish to god Raymond Chandler were still alive to comment on it.

Just one example:

‘All hell broke loose’ as police chased the San Bernardino shooters

How the hunt for the pair who killed 14 people in a terrorist attack ended with 455 bullets fired on a suburban street.

By Joel Rubin, Richard Winton, Brittny Mejia and Joseph Serna

Dec. 13, 2015

[...]

The SUV wasn’t moving fast, maybe 40 mph. It passed by and Espinoza, 46, saw two people inside.

A loud pop cracked the air. Espinoza was momentarily confused. But as the back window of the SUV shattered, he pieced together what was happening.

“That’s when it got to me. That’s them,” he said.

The hazard lights on the SUV started flashing after that first shot. Several more rounds came from the SUV as it continued along the street.

Espinoza saw the driver: Two hands gripping the steering wheel, glancing back two or three times at the police cars giving chase.

“He had that face of — scared,” Espinoza said.

Then, “all hell broke loose,” he said.

Bullets sounded as if they were slamming into the warehouse. [WTF is that even supposed to mean? Were they or weren't they?]

“Close the gate! Close the gate!’ he screamed.

Bullshit. The SUV was moving past him at "maybe 40mph" and it had dark windows. And Mr Espionage claims he could recognise the driver's facial expression from the other side of the street? He wants us to believe he could see that Syed Farook had "that face of — scared"? Bullshit.

That's the quality of the "eyewitness reports" the LA Times swallows whole and chooses to regurgitate to the planet as trustworthy. God* forbid they should think of interviewing any of the 50 - 60 real eyewitnesses who survived the shooting in that conference room, who saw the shooters at very close quarters and not through the tinted windows of a distant SUV..

As for sharp-eyed, fearless old "Billy Sirk"... Is everyone in the LA region named after a Hollywood director, or two Hollywood directors, or descended from them? What next, "eyewitness reports" from Clint Hitchcock and Quentin Spielberg?

*God is the CIA.

Tashfeen Malik fired how many bullets (with a semi-automatic weapon!) through the back window of that SUV, yet could not even stop the police car that was immediately behind her??

Only two bullets even hit that police car at all, and none of them hit the windscreen??

Only one police officer (out of 23!) was even wounded in the "shootout", and then only by a "ricochet", and then not seriously??

The yarn we are being sold is complete bullshit. There was no "shootout". That couple were slaughtered by the cops.

Investigators would tally 380 bullets fired by 23 officers or deputies. Farook and Malik, meanwhile, shot about 75 times.

http://www.latimes.com/local/california ... story.html

Image

At a rough count, there are at least 35 bullet holes in the windscreen alone.

well it stopped everyone talking about Turkey/ISIS/oil, so i guess if it was fake or not is immaterial, they achieved their objective.

Hardly anyone was ever "talking about Turkey/ISIS/oil" in the first place, so there was no need for them to stop anyone doing it! Their objectives are both cruder and subtler than that.

No, it isn't immaterial. The reasons why should be obvious.

clearly it worked then ;)

Ha! Touché. But seriously, the Turkey/ Isis thing won't cut it, because hardly anyone gives a damn even if they are among the few who know about it. US intelligence itself could be smuggling crack cocaine into US cities to fuel foreign fascists and hardly anyone would give a damn either. QED.They could frame two young parents for mass murder and then murder them too, and hardly anyone would give a damn about that either. In fact they'd cheer.

This strikes me as really important:

The whole scene on the highway after the couple were shot -- well, what to say? Where to start? First the clean, near-spotless street, then that incredible mess of stuff, strewn (thrown?) all over the place. Why? Doesn't that constitute tampering with a crime scene?

Image

Also: Why did they move the corpse of Fyed Sarook -- and the gun(s)?

Image 1 (from the Daily Mail):Image

^^Two guns, or at least one gun plus one large dark object (belt?), plus some small dark objects. When were those other objects placed there, why, and by whom?

Note the yellow police markers. Surely they indicate that this purports to be the way the crime-scene was found?? But it wasn't! A whole bunch of stuff has somehow, somewhen appeared beside the bloodstain, after the body was removed!

Image 2 (dead body): http://www.sott.net/image/s14/287250/fu ... ok_SUV.jpg - the body of Syed Farook is parallel to the sidewalk, and only one (1) other object is visible anywhere, i.e. a couple of metres behind his feet; the entire scene is otherwise immaculate. No gun is propped against the sidewalk, for example. That belt-thing is also nowhere to be seen.

Image 3 (dead body): http://isitgossip.com/wp-content/upload ... 2-480w.jpg - the body of Syed Farook is now at right angles to the sidewalk.

WTF???

^^ Google search-results for: crime scene evidence markers yellow

Documentation

Photographs of all evidence are taken before anything is touched, moved, or otherwise further investigated. Evidence markers are placed next to each piece of evidence allowing for organization of the evidence.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crime_scene

PDF: FIREARMS EVIDENCE COLLECTION PROCEDURES / CALIFORNIA

So the cops and/or the FBI did not just "tamper" with the crime scene on the highway; they re-arranged it radically to suit themselves. They deliberately falsified it.

Surely?

If I am missing something obvious here, please enlighten me as soon as possible. (Stickdog? Elvis? Anyone?)

It seems difficult to draw conclusions about placement without knowing exactly when each photo was taken.

My guess is the harness/strap was cut free from the body, then the body handcuffed, all requiring some moving of the body. The rifle was probably picked up, checked and unloaded—note the rifle on the curb has its magazione removed, as does what appears to be a semiauto handgun with its magazine removed and left next to the pistol.

Does it make sense that Farook was trying to run away, take cover, and only made as far as the opposite curb?

There's got to be a shit ton of police dashcam video, and probably other video, that we need to see.
