He was an inspiration in many ways. I didn't really start appreciating Bowie until the late 90's (as late teenager), but he became a mind blowing figure. I know several people who drew strength from him to challenge their own gender identity or to accept people who were questioning and changing. Even if all that stuff from Bowie was just publicity, just being a tall skinny weirdo was enough for many of us to find confidence in ourselves. He made the world a little more weird, but cool at the same time, and we are all better for it.

they were playing his songs on a radio station I stumbled on last night -- i didnt listen in, and had no idea he had died. that's impossible. david bowie is immortal in some peculiar way that has nothing to do with his music

Seeing ‘The Man Who Fell to Earth’ was one of the greatest experiences of Philip K. Dick’s life

It's crazy his last album dropped three days ago.

Mazars and Deutsche Bank could have ended this nightmare before it started.
They could still get him out of office.
But instead, they want mass death.
Don’t forget that.

I hate to say I didn't know or had forgotten he had cancer. So many icons of that unique time are leaving us. :(
Don't believe anything they say.
And at the same time,
Don't believe that they say anything without a reason.

Thank-you 82-28 for the dangerous minds link.

It is because of people like David and Phillip (and VALIS) that we are able to maintain that 'haunting certainty that the unifying principle of this universe is love.'

Thanks to ALL in it's representation called David Bowie.
All these things will continue as long as coercion remains a central element of our mentality.

It was not really public knowledge. Don't feel bad.

Changes

Postby Burnt Hill » Mon Jan 11, 2016 12:47 pm

A nice Bowie memory for me was after my then 14 year old son became interested in his music- and the discussions we had over "China Girl".
Also that his favorite song was "Rebel Rebel" even after he realized the meaning of the song.
I just texted him the news.
Yes lunarmoth, he is immortal.
