I think the criticisms of Counterpunch are valid, even though they sometimes run great articles too. Same general principle would hold true for Dissident Voice, though I see less great and original articles there. Honestly though, I can't claim to have a very good feeling about Gearóid Ó Colmáin at all, based on what I see. Kinda makes me think of James Petras.

well I can't claim to have a very good feeling about Mr. Sunshine either but I don't start OP's about sources you post...and Gearóid Ó Colmáin is just fine or else Zero Hedge wouldn't be publishing him...or is Zero Hedge one of your no no too?

12 years here I have never seen anyone but you start a post about a source link

.....oh and I didn't know who James Petras was but just on a hunch I googled James Petras and anti semite.....now how smart am I? :P

I have a handful of Zero Hedge alternatives if anyone wants them; "Marxist" economics blogs and analysis:

Keith Joseph and Anthony Shull at the Brick and Mortar blog:

Lady Economist:

I still like Zero Hedge though and am not quite smart enough to grok the critique.

I should clarify what I said before: Counterpunch sometimes runs very good articles, but all too often runs really terrible articles. This brings them into the poisoning-the-well realm, which makes me very leery of them, as with Dissident Voice. Petras brings the rigour of academic Marxism to his work but then veers over to Zombielans, as he clearly subscribes to the "Anti-Imperialism of Fools" school, and blurs the lines around Settler Colonialism in Palestine, Jewish people generally, and the world power structure as a whole.

I won't speculate about Gearóid Ó Colmáin's buddies- but he seems very sketchy to me...
