Well, I won't be watching. I only wanna see the game. And that's what I hate about the superb owl is the time it takes from the flow of the game. I was watching some "50 best ads" show the other night. I would prefer they just do that and let the game be played as normal. Show all the clever ads up front. But whatever. I'm a lifer.

there was a decent crack on the Peyton’s best buddy, the Papa Johns guy.

“The other day I walked in a guy kissing one of his pizzas and I actually heard him whisper to it, ‘let’s get you out of those toppings.’ Yeah, it was way bad man.”

The skit ended with Cam Newton getting arrested for giving a kid a football.

"Ebony and Ivory" is quite apt. An almost scripted finale ("almost".. ?)

Denver/Colorado/Peyton in all its glorious whiteness vs. Cam Newton and the BLACK Panthers of CAROLINA.

A (black) QB that enjoys theatrical displays of celebration vs. the 'studious smarts' of the 'veteran' (white) QB. If anyone plans to partake in a drinking game while absorbing the spectacle, I'd suggest throwing down a shot each time Peyton's "smarts" are mentioned. Inebriation would result before halftime.

Hugh, where are you? I think the problem with Newton is his behavior as QB and nothing to do with his phenotyipic traits. Shit we're gonna be cheering and booing black people all day and not giving a shit about the color of their skin. I just think people don't like seeing a QB act like that in his position. Look at Manziel -- white kid.

http://www.cleveland.com/browns/index.s ... ohnny.html

That's why he gets the guff. But the Broncos have an orange mane not blonde! I expect many black players to obviously have a role in this game -- duh. Fuck is superb owl stupid. I'm stuck. I wanna take a nap! But I can't because I am hella nervous. How totally stupid is that?

I guess it's been because I have been (counting today) 8 of these things (that's a third of my fucking life!). Mostly in infamy but back to back wins.

"Go Broncos"

So I can just think about other shit.

An average NFL game: more than 100 commercials and just 11 minutes of play

http://qz.com/150577/an-average-nfl-game-more-than-100-commercials-and-just-11-minutes-of-play/

For five months of the year, the National Football League dominates Sundays in the United States; it’s more popular than church.

The NFL’s popularity is all the more remarkable when you inspect the fare it has to offer each week on television. An average professional football game lasts 3 hours and 12 minutes, but if you tally up the time when the ball is actually in play, the action amounts to a mere 11 minutes.

Part of the discrepancy has to do with the basic rules of American football. Unlike hockey or basketball, the 60-minute game clock in football can run even when the ball is not in play. That means a lot of game time is spent standing around or huddling up before each play begins.

The 11 minutes of action was famously calculated a few years ago by the Wall Street Journal. Its analysis found that an average NFL broadcast spent more time on replays (17 minutes) than live play. The plurality of time (75 minutes) was spent watching players, coaches, and referees essentially loiter on the field.

An average play in the NFL lasts just four seconds.

Of course, watching football on TV is hardly just about the game; there are plenty of advertisements to show people, too. The average NFL game includes 20 commercial breaks containing more than 100 ads. The Journal’s analysis found that commercials took up about an hour, or one-third, of the game.

Football’s stop-and-go nature makes it particularly prime for commercials, unlike soccer, which forces broadcasters to creatively insert ads during the 45 minutes of continuous play in each half. Broadcasts of NFL games in Europe, incidentally, include far fewer commercials.

Just for the sake of argument, let us assume this statistic is even remotely true. If so, what the hell does that say? Roman Gladiator Spectacle? I dunno....but I find that statistic sort of fascinating because a whole culture is built around it...

on edit:

A guy punched me in the face at a football game one day because I was smiling when I left. I had nothing invested in either team because personally i don't care that much for football, even though my dad was a career football coach, imagine that.....

Me, I'm rooting for Huey Newton and the Black Panthers over the Denver Aryan Sovereign Citizen Evil Horses.

there is no flow in American footy. Its the most stop/start timewasting irritation I can think of. How does a 15 minute game take 12 hours to play ffs.

Anyway I've said all this before so I'll shut up.

wait a minute - its on now isn't it?

I think i might watch it if its on tv.

And I'll go for denver. Cos of you 82_.

Yep its on.

Just saw that punt and tackle. Everyone in Australia can kick like that.

The excessive commercials/advertising is beyond egregious and pornographic.
No surprise in this landscape, however.

"Soccer" is such a welcome respite from this spectacle for the mere lack (relatively) of such interruption to gameflow, which is surely a factor in its 'lesser' standing in the U.S.

VILE.

Soccer sucks and FIFA could possibly be more corrupt than the NFL.

And yeah Denver would be no where without that insanely good defense.

"Soccer sucks"
-- well, that's like your opinion, man (to paraphrase The Dude).

The majority of the world disagrees with you.

FIFA is indeed corrupt, as are MOST organizations run by greedy men.

On a related note: I actually had to REWIND to confirm this, but one of the very first actions undertaken by Peyton Manning once the game was over was to embrace and kiss the cheek -- on the field, moments after the final whistle -- of none other than the aforementioned DOUCHEBAG PAPA JOHN. Shortly thereafter, in his first post-game interview on the field, he managed to insert a reference to drinking BUDWEISER after the game. Shamelessly continuing to SHILL.
(He mentioned drinking BUDWEISER yet again as I type these words.)

Unless the proceeds from such shilling go directly to the poor/hungry, I type again: FUCK PEYTON MANNING.

For those that have an affinity to following various media outlets, it will be difficult to avoid that shill's name for the next week+. Non-stop barrage.
