This is like criticizing Hillary and getting "but Trump" in response or vice versa.
Got it. Who do you suspect leased the information then?
Sorry if I did not make this clear, but my recent post that you responded to was about comparing the means, motive, and opportunity of two competing suspects (Rich vs. the rascally Russians). Do I know Rich was the leaker? No. But he's much higher on my list of reasonable good Samaritans than are rascally Russians.Yet the evangelists of that bizarre conspiracy theory are somehow allowed to dismiss those who consider Rich as "crazy conspiracy theorists."
"Conventional" (translation: manufactured, manicured, and sponsored) wisdom somehow gets to decide which conspiracy theories are derided as "conspiracy theories" and which are promulgated as inviolable truths. In terms of objective rationality, the supposedly vast chasm between "judicious conventional wisdom" and "completely unhinged conspiracy theories" is routinely spurious. The pejorative appellation "conspiracy theorist" refers to anyone who imagines any US or corporate affiliated entity capable of knowingly planning anything criminal or detrimental to society. According to conventional wisdom, no US or corporate affiliated entity ever
means to do anything bad (until later proven otherwise beyond any reasonable doubt, of course, after which it becomes old news that we always knew all along).
While it is totally naive to put any motive, no matter how diabolical, convoluted or untenable, past
their oligarchs and mafia dons, suspecting our
own oligarchs and mafia dons of anything worse than incompetent altruism or unaccountable systemic dysfunction is invariably characterized as the most fantastical of paranoid delusions.
