What should The Left do now?

Let's face it, there's nothing, nada, zero, about the Dem Party that is remotely leftist.

So what is the left to do?

I know a lot of people asking this question and nobody seems to have a clue.

Except today when this woman, Luciana Bohne, wrote on FB:

Everybody asks, "what should the left do" now that the ruling class is fighting each other. Easy peasy: detach the unions from the Dems; renounce the dems; denounce them as enemies of the people (class enemies; people who voted for Obama and switched to Trump already know this). Promote internationalism and denounce the wars; link with workers parties across the world; start your own press; stop being anti- and be for something. Dump the poisonous, dishonest, and hypocritcal identity shit and be one for all and all for one. Never, never allow interventions on humanitarian grounds, which violates sovereignty. That's for starters. Oh, and start educating people on the alternative system to the existing one. Meet in basements, not in latte joints.

Luciana Bohne.

I love this. Of course she's not American nor lives in the US.

Although I am in a union and they push blind obedience to the D party. Just speaking for my own.

Sounds like top of the list should be to rally around an effort to save as much as is worth saving of Obamacare and stop whatever replaces it from being a total disaster.

I have one eye on Alan Grayson, he seems like of the very few good ones.

Should Grayson, Sanders et al. start a socialist party?

Once people start feeling the pain, two to three years into a Trump/Pence regime, socialism will be sounding good. Surely this is the last gasp of "trickle down."

I think the key phrase is the post I posted is that the elites are fighting each other.

That makes this a very opportune moment for non-elites. Only everybody is still in the thrall of the Spook Media. The Spook media is almost 100% on the side of the old guard, the neocons/CIA.

The left should follow Bernie's lead – democratic socialism. The right must follow populist nationalism.

These are the authentic politics that the postwar options of Thatcher/Reagan 'conservatism' and Blair/Clinton liberalism were designed to obfuscate.

I fear I can't even go through the motions of this anymore. Our best is to shift the spectrum to the Y axis (libertarian / authoritarian), no?

I think the elites are appearing to fight with each other but, in truth, are more united than ever before. That's one of the reasons The Donald won...to create this illusion. Meanwhile, the elites are taking advantage by hammering in the final nails...

Those at the tip top know, given their infinitesimally small size, that above all else, "united we stand, divided we fall" . It's the rest of us who will never learn, therefore will always succumb to their devious schemes to divide and conquer.

P.S. I've never seen people more emotionally attached to their party than now. It's to the point where it's dividing families, friendships, etc. It's really scary.

Bernie is still doing the work, but golden showers take precedence in these epoch-making times.
