Very interesting...I had never heard of Postol but found that he made the same criticism of Obama:

It remains to be seen what Trump's actual intentions are with Syria but I hear nothing but Kushner and Cohn on the ascendancy ...
So the election is being swung back to the democrats...
MARK CUBAN: Gary Cohn is leading a 'Democratic invasion' of Trump's White House
Billionaire business mogul Mark Cuban said Tuesday that Gary Cohn, head of President Donald Trump's National Economic Council, is leading a "Democratic invasion of the White House."

Cuban, the owner of the NBA's Dallas Mavericks and star of ABC's "Shark Tank," told the Fox Business Network that was why Trump is becoming more centrist, according to Fox Business reporter Charlie Gasparino.

"50% of non-military leadership are Democrats," Cuban said, pointing to Cohn, Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin, senior adviser Jared Kushner, and assistant to the president Ivanka Trump.

Cuban, who's flirted with the idea of a future presidential run himself, has been among Trump's most vocal critics.

Recent reporting on internal affairs of the White House has the more centrist wing consisting of Cohn and Kushner clashing with the more nationalist, conservative populist wing headed by chief strategist Steve Bannon.

Tr*mp is a distraction. He is not the King of America. He has not staged a palace coup. He has not "drained the swamp". He has not abolished or enslaved the CIA. In no way does he constitute any kind of a radical change from his predecessor(s).

What does everyone think the US has been up to in the middle east under Obama, and under GWBush before him? (And since long before that!) Does anyone seriously think the lies would be fewer or the imperialist violence less if H*ll*ry had been voted in appointed figurehead and figleaf instead? Have people even here already forgotten Libya and Iraq? Forgotten PNAC? Forgotten Colin Powell and his test tube at the UN? Forgotten Jessica Lynch and Pat Tillman? Forgotten the Kuwaiti "incubator babies"? Forgotten Allende and Lumumba? Forgotten the entire history of the CIA? Forgotten the US's destruction of Korea, Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos? Forgotten JFK, MLK, RFK? Forgotten the anthrax attacks and the subsequent blatant cover-up? Forgotten all those lies and all that murderous violence?

Destroying uppity nations is business as usual for the US empire, and spreading disinfo and atrocity-propaganda on the empire's behalf is precisely what the corporate media are there to do. Now as ever. At home and abroad.

Thanks for the OP, Nordic. Everyone should read it.

Here's another close analysis, with photos:

I don't know how to assess what he's saying in those papers. it kind of makes sense but I haven't checked the numbers.

But Postol seems legit.

Seriously. He has had a reputation for being honest and open (within certain limits) about security policy issues for decades.

Good report, thanks. Sent to a friend who drank the koolaid and wants to personally kill Assad for the "gas attacks."

How many journalists are going to even ask, uh, how do you know this?
Postol asks questions that deserve to be answered. But of course, he's a kook.
And as far as innocent child victims are concerned, is Sarin gas poisoning worse than being shot in the neck or blown apart by a smart bomb? Can we have those photographs shown on cable news, too. Could they make the President feel sad? Maybe more sad than the last?
Because they are fucking available.
Maybe Fox can dispatch an intrepid reporter to ask the as yet un-murdered crowds of starving orphans which they would prefer, gas, or obliteration?

And most likely a spook, on some level...
