So ... who is Douglas Haig?

Document shows police ID'd 2nd 'person of interest' in days after Las Vegas shooting

A judge on Tuesday unsealed nearly 300 pages of search warrant records, including one document that publicly identified for the first time an additional “person of interest” in the Oct. 1 massacre on the Las Vegas Strip.

“Until the investigation can rule otherwise, Marilou Danley and Douglas Haig have become persons of interest who may have conspired with Stephen Paddock to commit Murder with a Deadly Weapon,” according to the Metropolitan Police Department document, which was prepared in October.

Danley was Paddock’s girlfriend and initially was named as a person of interest in the investigation. Haig, whose name had not been previously released, could not be reached for immediate comment Tuesday.

When contacted by phone Tuesday about the newly released name, Clark County Sheriff Joe Lombardo said only, “If you’ve got it, publish it.” He said he could not comment on a federal case.

An FBI spokeswoman said she could not immediately comment Tuesday.

During a Jan. 20 update on the shooting investigation, Lombardo noted that the FBI has an open investigation into an unnamed person of interest, though he repeatedly said Stephen Paddock was the only shooter.

Lombardo also said he did not anticipate Danley facing any criminal charges.

“I know and believe there was only one suspect who killed 58 people and injured hundreds more,” Lombardo said. “All the evidence recovered in this case supports that theory. There was one shooter in the 1 October massacre. There was only one person responsible, and that was Stephen Paddock.”

Paddock’s brother Eric Paddock said he does not know Haig.

“I never heard of the guy,” said Paddock, who lives in Orlando, Florida.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal, along with other media outlets, sought the ruling from District Judge Elissa Cadish, who unsealed the records related to the Route 91 Harvest festival shooting.

“The court correctly recognized the presumption of public access to records, even when a mass tragedy occurs,” Review-Journal attorney Maggie McLetchie said.

Authorities in Las Vegas have said that while Stephen Paddock acted alone in killing 58 people at the music festival before killing himself in his Mandalay Bay suite, possible criminal charges are still being investigated.

Lombardo has said he expects a final report on the shooting to be released before the end of 2018.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates.

Haig's website is still up:

https://www.smammo.com/
We only accept orders by phone. This is done to protect the customer. Online shopping carts are best suited for mass production items. Our ammunition is hand made and it takes time to fabricated and load. Speaking to us on the phone also allows questions and establishes what the customer really wants to have our ammunition for. We also can take a few extra days to ship. This is because we may have to fabricate the ammunition ordered if it's not on the shelf. Be patient with us and we will always do our best to make sure you get what you want. Remeber we shoot this ammo also!

More details
In interviews with Newsweek in October, Haig said he spoke with agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms shortly after the shooting.

"They asked me a bunch of questions," he told the news outlet. "After about 20 minutes they left. Haven't heard from them since." He added that he had no link to Paddock.

On Tuesday, Haig referred Newsweek to his attorney.

According to Haig's LinkedIn profile, he also works as a senior engineer at Honeywell Aerospace, researching and developing tests and repairs for turbine engines. A spokesperson for Honeywell Aerospace confirmed to BuzzFeed News Haig is employed by the company in Phoenix.

Note that he specializes in tracer and incendiary ammo.

Arizona man who sold ammo to Las Vegas shooter is charged

Jacques Billeaud, Associated Press Updated 5:00 pm, Friday, February 2, 2018

CHANDLER, Ariz. (AP) — An Arizona man who sold ammunition to the gunman who carried out the deadliest mass shooting in modern U.S. history was charged Friday with manufacturing armor-piercing bullets, according to court documents.

Unfired armor-piercing bullets found inside the Las Vegas hotel room where Stephen Paddock launched the attack on Oct. 1 contained the fingerprints of ammunition dealer Douglas Haig, according to a criminal complaint filed in federal court in Phoenix. It says Haig didn't have a license to manufacture armor-piercing ammunition.

The documents don't say if the ammunition was used in the attack. Haig was charged 35 minutes before holding a news conference where he said he didn't notice anything suspicious when he sold 720 rounds of ammunition to Paddock in the weeks before the massacre that left 58 people dead.

Haig told investigators that when Paddock bought the ammunition at his home in suburban Phoenix, Paddock went to his car to get gloves and put them on before taking the box from Haig, the complaint said.

"I had no contribution to what Paddock did," Haig told reporters earlier Friday, adding that there was nothing unusual about the type or quantity of ammunition the shooter bought. "I had no way to see into his mind."

A phone message left Friday afternoon for Haig's attorney, Marc Victor, wasn't immediately returned.

The two armor-piercing bullets found inside Paddock's hotel room with Haig's fingerprints had an "incendiary capsule" on their noses, the documents said. A forensic analysis of those two bullets had tool marks consistent with the equipment in Haig's backyard workshop, according to the complaint.

It also alleges that FBI agents searching Haig's home on Oct. 19 found armor-piercing ammunition.

Haig, a 55-year-old aerospace engineer who sold ammunition as a hobby for about 25 years, said he met Paddock at a Phoenix gun show in the weeks before the shooting and that he was well-dressed and polite.

He didn't have the quantity of tracer ammunition on hand that Paddock was seeking, so Paddock contacted him several days later and lined up a sale at Haig's home. Tracer bullets contain a pyrotechnic charge that illuminates the path of fired bullets so shooters can see whether their aim is correct.

Haig said he was shocked and sickened when a federal agent informed him of the massacre 11 hours after it unfolded.

Haig's lawyer said they held the news conference in a bid to protect his reputation after he was revealed earlier this week to be a "person of interest" in the investigation. Haig's identity emerged by mistake after his name was not redacted in court documents.

A law enforcement official previously told The Associated Press that investigators don't believe Haig had any involvement or knowledge of the planned attack when he sold ammunition to Paddock. The official wasn't authorized to discuss an ongoing investigation and spoke on condition of anonymity.

Haig arose in the investigation when a box with his name and address was found in the Mandalay Bay hotel suite where Paddock opened fire on a music festival below.

He gave the box to Paddock to carry the 720 rounds of tracer ammunition from the sale.

Haig said Paddock told him that "he was going to go out to the desert to put on a light show, either with or for his friends. I can't remember whether he used the word 'with' or 'for.' But he said that he was going out at night to shoot it with friends."

Haig, who has closed his ammunition business, said he has received unwanted media attention and death threats since his name was released.

The Las Vegas Police Department and U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives declined to comment when contacted earlier Friday.

The FBI and U.S. attorney's office in Nevada have not responded to emails seeking comment.

I knew about the alleged employment of prostitutes but this weekend was the first I'd heard of there claims of Stephen Paddock making overtures about Mind Kontrol ... which source back to RadarOnline which apparently originally broke the prostitutes testimony?

Vegas Killer Stephen Paddock’s Prostitute Lover Vanished Before Deadly Shooting Spree
'She was scared something would happen to her,' sex worker claims.

A prostitute that last seen with deranged Las Vegas shooter Stephen Paddock just before his deadly rampage has mysteriously vanished, RadarOnline has exclusively learned.

The Sin City escort was reported missing by her boyfriend several days after the Oct. 1 shooting that left 58 dead and 800 injured, a former sex worker — who once dated Paddock and is now cooperating with the FBI — told Radar in an exclusive interview.

“She was telling girls after work that she was scared something would happen to her,” claimed former escort Mikaela, whose full name is being withheld to protect her identity. “She was booked the day before or the day off the shooting before she disappeared.”

Mikaela, who now lives out of the country, heard about the missing woman from worried co-workers who knew she once worked as Paddock’s $6,000 a night prostitute – acting out his twisted pedophile and rape fantasizes.

Mikeala was hustling for an escort agency when she first met Paddock, a habitual high roller, in early 2015. After two dates the smitten 64-year-old volunteered to be her “sugar daddy.”

Soon she was hooking up with Paddock two to three times a month at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, even inside the same hotel room the madman used as his sniper’s nest during the worst mass shooting in American history.

What’s more, Radar has learned just before the rampage Paddock began sending bizarre text messages to another of Mikaela’s call girl pals, showing he was becoming completely unhinged and paranoid.

“There’s messages where Stephen is telling her he’s a government experiment and that they are listening to everything he says and does, and they can hack into his brain and take over,” Mikaela said.

As Radar previously reported, Paddock’s horrific siege ended when he turned the gun on himself.

Also ... am not endorsing most or all of this video below but ... it presents an interesting take on pedo angle(s) to the brothers-Paddock and the FBI involvement - with satanic child-sacrifice at BoHo Grove thrown in for good measure.

This means nothing but I thought I would share it because if we were all at a bar it would be a story I would tell.

An old buddy and I from high school hung out tonight and HE BROUGHT THE MASSACRE UP! Typically, I would have steered way clear of such a conversation.

He was staying at the Luxor and was in his room and he heard sounds, he thought was a jackhammer. He wondered why they were doing construction that time of night with a concert going on. Then suddenly The Strip was filled with police coming from everywhere. Then apparently there is an intercom into every room and they told everyone to not leave their rooms. He was trying to get to sleep I guess but every 15 minutes or something they kept breaking in. So he turned on his TV and saw what all of us were seeing that night.

Then after the massacre was over I guess, he went to sleep, woke up and went down to the casino in the morning and he said it was as if nothing had happened. Business as usual.

Capitalism I tell ya.

He said to me, "Do you know how much the casinos lost that night". I thought he was making a point and had some figure I didn't know about. He was just "joking".

All I could say was "indeed".

Supreme Court orders release of audio, video from Las Vegas shooting massacre

The Nevada Supreme Court on Friday ruled that the Metropolitan Police Department must begin releasing body camera footage and 911 call audio from the Las Vegas mass shooting.

“The speed with which the Supreme Court made this decision reflects the complete absence of merit in the Metropolitan Police Department’s arguments,” Review-Journal Executive Editor Glenn Cook said Friday.

A Clark County judge ruled in February that Metro had 30 days to hand over all the records, which were requested days after the Oct. 1 shooting. But Metro contested it would cost hundreds of thousands of dollars and take much longer to produce the footage and audio.

In March, District Judge Richard Scotti gave Metro a total of six months to fulfill the request, but ordered the department to immediately begin releasing the records on a “rolling basis.” Scotti also ruled that Metro could not charge for production of the records.

The Friday ruling means the department is compelled to begin releasing the footage and audio. It remained unclear if any records would be released as soon as Friday afternoon.

As usual, posting is not endorsement ... I certainly agree the high-contrast image of Paddock's head at the 13m29s mark in the YT video / bodycam footage is similar to the image of a half-mannequin head presented by others - but maybe that's explainable / consistent with the death-face images of Paddock's half-blood-covered head/face. Not posting that image here - you can find it on your own if so inclined.

Las Vegas Shooting Body Cam Video LVMPD | Stephen Paddock Room Mandalay Bay HD Enhanced

5X5 NEWS
Published on May 2, 2018
Enhanced - Las Vegas Metro Police released 8 video clips of body camera footage on 5/2/2018 that shows when officers breached the Oct. 1 shooter, Stephen Paddock's Mandalay Bay suite. 32-135 32-134

The footage consists of eight clips — four each from two different canine officers, Sgt. Joshua Bitsko and David Newton. The first officer to breach the first room, Levi Hancock, did not activate his body camera. Go figure. Levi Hancock at the center of yet another controversy.

The body cam does not show timestamps. This is because information on the screen can conceal evidence.

Paddock, 64, killed 58 people and injured almost 500 when he opened fire on 22,000 concertgoers from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino.

In one video, a group of officers is seen waiting outside Paddock's multi-room suite while a loud bang goes off. The officers then proceed to search the suite room by room, whispering instructions as they proceed.

"Rifles up, move up," an officer can be heard saying.

"Check under the bed," another officer later orders.

Debris and a broken door are visible in the video, though Paddock's body is not shown.

In another video, officers appear to examine documents found in Paddock's room and can be heard asking for police to visit Paddock's home address in Mesquite, Nevada. As officers walk through the suite, Paddock's significant arsenal of assault rifles is visible scattered on the floor and furniture.

Officers are seen in their tactical gear as a voice on the radio says: "Breach. Breach. Breach." Then, a loud blast is heard.
Police move forward, then wait in a doorway as the hotel's alarm goes off.
"There's a 413 on the ground," an officer said, giving the police code for a person with a gun.
Officers approach Paddock's door, which was blocked by a room service cart. "Looks like it might be a camera of some sort," one officer said.
Officers note there are also multiple cameras, according to the footage.
More officers rush past. "Hold on, hold on," another officer said.
As officers enter the suite, they notice more cameras pointing down the hallway, and that the rooms are connected.
Officers clear the suite room by room, searching under the bed and in closets with dogs.

A stunning read. Some stunning photos too (no gore).

What Happened in Vegas
The days, weeks, and months after the worst mass shooting in modern American history

Sunday night, a week after the October 1 massacre: a day that also completes a full cycle of Vegas-ness, as this is the day that tourists tend to return home. It’s an eerily gusty night, as it often is in Las Vegas, and I drive to the site of the Route 91 Harvest festival, where the concert banner still flaps wildly in the wind and the stage scaffolding sits untouched. Across Las Vegas Boulevard, you can see the broken 32nd-floor windows marring the smooth gold-lamé surface of the Mandalay Bay; they look like two teeth that have been punched out.

Next door, the Luxor pyramid stands silent and inscrutable, its beam of bright white light piercing the sky, while the red and blue turrets of the Excalibur’s medieval castle loom over this blighted end of the Strip like a giant incongruous birthday cake. The Strip, I find myself thinking, is not the glorious shiny bauble it appears to be — at both ends it degrades quickly. The south end, the more middlebrow end where Mandalay Bay is located, has less margin to weather a downturn than the fancier precincts where the Wynn, the Encore, the Venetian, and the Bellagio are located. (Las Vegas purports to be democratic, but it, too, has a class system.)

Passing the scene of the shooting, I am shocked by the distance between the open-air concert venue and the hotel suite from which Paddock fired. It’s 500 yards, roughly five football fields, across multiple lanes of traffic. The most militarized shooting in our country’s history was a crime we had not seen — one that hovered between a mass shooting and a terrorist attack. Paddock wasn’t a disaffected young man with a grudge. He didn’t appear to be acting for any ideological cause. His motive remains hazy, mysterious, but his methods are clear. Everything he did was plotted, calculated, with the fastidiousness of the accountant he was, to maximize fatalities: from the six trips he made in seven days to cart at least 21 suitcases of weapons and ammunition up to his suite, to the handwritten ballistics calculations found on a piece of paper on a small side table in his room, to the sniper position he took, which allowed him to shoot his victims as they were running away.

Police release fourth batch of materials related to Vegas mass shooting

Las Vegas police Wednesday released aerial and traffic camera video taken in the wake of last year’s mass shooting that killed 58 at a country music festival.

The release was the fourth batch of materials doled out by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. The department had been ordered by the courts to make the items public after media outlets — including the Los Angeles Times — sued for their release under public records requests.

The aerial footage begins at 12:24 a.m. on Oct. 2 — almost 2½ hours after Stephen Paddock opened fire from his Mandalay Bay hotel suite on the 32nd floor down onto a crowd of 22,000 attending the Route 91 Harvest country music festival.

In addition to those killed, hundreds more were injured as they fled for cover in the midst of a set performed by Jason Aldean.

Much of the early aerial video released Wednesday shows flashing red lights of emergency vehicles parked on and around the Las Vegas Strip. There is footage of the concert site as well, but the distance of the camera — along with the lighting — makes it difficult to see details on the ground.

Other video images show wide camera angles of the Strip.

The traffic camera video on Tropicana Avenue shows police cars blocking southbound traffic around 10:17 the night of Oct. 1, and ambulances begin appearing with lights flashing at a little after 10:30.

After that, the traffic on Tropicana is illuminated with red and blue lights from emergency vehicles throughout the night. The marquees of the casinos and restaurants visible in the video remain lit until the sun rises around 6:20 a.m. Normal traffic appears to resume between 7:35 and 8 a.m.

There is no audio with the footage.

Police have been rolling out documents and video related to the shooting since the beginning of May.

Last week, more than 2,000 pages of police reports and witness statements were made public. They included deeply moving accounts by law enforcement officers sharing the fear and uncertainty they felt as the massacre unfolded.

The week before that, about 1,200 pages of witness statements and interviews with victims were released by police. The first wave of public items to be released included several hours of police body-camera footage — including that from officers who breached the door to Paddock’s suite.

Police have not determined a motive for why Paddock shot up the concert site, but they have said he was the lone shooter and responsible for the crime. Paddock killed himself with a gunshot wound to the head before police were able to enter his hotel room.

Police have said the large volume of items will continue to be released throughout the coming weeks.

WATCH: Vegas Security Guard Claims Stephen Paddock Shot Him with a Pellet Gun As He Just Hangs Out

Newly released body camera footage shows Mandalay Bay Security Guard Jesus Campos minutes after he claimed he was shot by suspect Stephen Paddock.

By Rachel Blevins - June 21, 2018

Las Vegas – New body camera footage has been released from the first officers on the scene of the Las Vegas shooting in October 2017, and it reveals that the security guard who was reportedly suspect Stephen Paddock’s first victim, believed he was shot by a pellet gun and did not have any visible wounds.

Jesus Campos, a security guard at Mandalay Bay, made headlines initially because he was reportedly the only witness who saw Paddock open the door of his hotel room on the 32nd floor and shoot at least 200 rounds out into the hall.

Days after the shooting, International Union President David Hickey claimed that Campos was “shot in the right thigh when he approached Paddock’s room on the 32nd floor during the Las Vegas mass shooting,” and a GoFundMe page claimed that Campos “was shot through the door while on random patrol as a Security Officer.”

The story changed a number of times, and Campos went from being a random casualty, to the first victim of the shooting, who was reportedly shot once in the leg once when Paddock opened the door to his room and fired at least 200 rounds into the hall in his direction.

The newly released body camera footage, published by the Las Vegas Review-Journal, shows Campos after his encounter with Paddock, and with the exception of what looks to be a small trickle of blood on his leg, he does not appear to have just been shot.

While the initial reports claimed that Campos was shot in his right thigh, he has his pants rolled up on his left leg and is motioning to it, as if to show that it is where he was injured.

“I don’t know if it’s a pellet or a .22,” Campos told the officer.

While Campos does appear to walk with somewhat of a limp, his assertion that he was shot with a pellet gun seems much more accurate than the claim that he was shot with an actual bullet, which would likely have made him unable to walk, would have left a noticeable wound, and would have caused significant pain.

The two other men standing with Campos when the officers arrive appear to be either security personnel or Mandalay Bay employees, and they do not seem to be concerned at all about the fact that Campos was just shot.

The officers appear to be on the 32nd floor of the hotel, and when they start to look down the hall, Campos can be heard saying, “Hey, you guys, the direction on shooting is probably the peephole, so look out for that.”

“Is he shooting down this way?” one of the officers asked.

“He was. That’s how I got shot,” Campos replied.

According to the timeline of the shooting, Campos arrived on the 32nd floor around 10 p.m. on Oct. 1, 2017, with the intention of investigating “an alert of an open door in a guest’s room down the hall from Paddock’s suite.” He then called security dispatch to report the blocked door at 10:04 p.m. and was shot by Paddock at 10:06 p.m.

The first two police officers to enter the 32nd floor, who are presumably the officers featured in the body camera footage, did not make it to the floor until 10:57 p.m., approximately 42 minutes after Paddock is said to have fired his final shot out of his hotel room window, at a nearby concert festival.

Given the fact that they did not know if Paddock was still alive, or if he planned to continue the shooting rampage, the idea that Campos and the two other men who were standing with him appeared to be nonchalantly waiting, several feet down the hall from where a man was just caught shooting out of his hotel room door is absurd.

In addition to the ever-changing story surrounding what Campus experienced and where he was during the shooting, there are also a number of questions about where he went in the aftermath of the massacre, and why he has only appeared once following the shooting, in a bizarre interview on the Ellen Show.

As The Free Thought Project reported, Campos was never registered to work as a security guard, and just days after the shooting, he made a strange trip to Mexico—even though he was reportedly the only witness to the largest mass shooting in modern U.S. history, and at the time, police claimed they were looking for a possible second suspect.

An interesting podcast with the link below

http://conspiracy-unlimited.blubrry.net/2018/06/08/076-las-vegas-shooting-massacre-update-eight-months-later-and-still-no-real-answers/

The podcast covers most of the subjects contained in this thread such as.

- Saudi involvement in gun running
- SE Asian involvement
- Child trafficking
- False flag conspiracy stuff
- Maverick helicopter involvement with transponders turned off over the Mandalay Bay
- A body double for the autopsy (WTF??)

and many more.

Some of the content seems a bit far fetched, but at this stage information about what actually occurred is still painfully thin on the ground.

Thanks — listening now; some intriguing info there as well as interesting speculations. So much weird about the whole thing.

The 'Manchurian candidate' angle is mentioned, and after the latest revelations about Sirhan, the simplest explanation for Paddock being the shooter, or serving some other function, may be that he was programmed to do it.

MGM Resorts International has filed federal lawsuits against more than 1,000 Las Vegas mass shooting victims in an effort to avoid liability.

The company, which owns Mandalay Bay and the Route 91 Harvest festival venue, argues that it cannot be held liable for Oct. 1 deaths, injuries or other damages, adding that any claims against MGM parties “must be dismissed,” according to complaints filed Friday in Nevada and California.

“Plaintiffs have no liability of any kind to defendants,” the complaints argue.

The company cites a 2002 federal act that extends liability protection to any company that uses “anti-terrorism” technology or services that can “help prevent and respond to mass violence.”

In this case, the company argues, the security vendor MGM hired for Route 91, Contemporary Services Corp., was protected from liability because its services had been certified by the Department of Homeland Security for “protecting against and responding to acts of mass injury and destruction.”

The lawsuits argue that this protection also extends to MGM, since MGM hired the security company.

They do not seek money from the victims but do ask that a judge decide if the 2002 act is applicable, and if so, determine that future civil lawsuits against the company are not viable.

Debra DeShong, a spokeswoman for MGM Resorts, released a statement about the litigation Monday.

According to the statement, “The Federal Court is an appropriate venue for these cases and provides those affected with the opportunity for a timely resolution. Years of drawn out litigation and hearings are not in the best interest of victims, the community and those still healing.”

Las Vegas attorney Robert Eglet, who has represented several Oct. 1 victims, said the grounds of the litigation are “obscure.”

MGM is a Nevada company, so any lawsuits belong in state court, Eglet said. He viewed the decision to file the complaints in federal court as a “blatant display of judge shopping” that “quite frankly verges on unethical.”

“I’ve never seen a more outrageous thing, where they sue the victims in an effort to find a judge they like,” he said. “It’s just really sad that they would stoop to this level.”

The act cited in the new lawsuits was passed just more than a year after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks and intentionally included broad protections. For instance, the act defines terrorism as any unlawful act inside the United States that causes “mass destruction, injury or other loss.”

The FBI has not called the Las Vegas mass shooting an act of terrorism because the gunman had no clear motive, and the FBI defines terrorism as an act of terror associated with extremist ideologies of a political, religious, social, racial or environmental nature.

A gunman opened fire from his Mandalay Bay suite, killing 58 concertgoers and injuring hundreds of others.

LAS VEGAS (RNN) - The company which owns the hotel and venue where a 2017 mass shooting occurred has filed federal lawsuits against 1,000 shooting victims.

MGM Resorts International, which owns Mandalay Bay and the Route 91 Harvest Festival, is seeking to avoid liability in the Oct. 1 shooting which killed 58 and injured hundreds more.

The company states that it cannot be held liable for any deaths, injuries or other damages and that all claims against MGM "must be dismissed."

MGM claims that its security vendor took necessary measures approved by the Department of Homeland Security for "protecting against and responding to acts of mass injury and destruction."

A 2002 federal act expands liability protection to any company which uses "anti-terrorism" technology or services that can "help prevent and respond to mass violence,” according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

The company hired Contemporary Services Corp which had been certified by DHS, according to the Review-Journal.

MGM does not seek compensation from the victims but instead will ask a judge to consider the 2002 act applicable in its case.

"The Federal Court is an appropriate venue for these cases and provides those affected with the opportunity for a timely resolution,” said Debra DeShong, a spokeswoman for MGM Resorts in a statement Monday. "Years of drawn out litigation and hearings are not in the best interest of victims, the community and those still healing."

The act defines terrorism as any unlawful act inside the U.S. that causes “mass destruction, injury or other loss.”

The FBI did not designate the 2017 shooting as an act of terrorism.
