Final police report on Las Vegas shooting unable to determine motive

Clark County Sheriff Joe Lombardo on Friday released the Metropolitan Police Department’s final report on the Oct. 1 shooting on the Strip, saying investigators had not been able to determine gunman Stephen Paddock’s motive for carrying out the deadliest random shooting in modern U.S. history.

“We have not been able to definitively answer the ‘why,’” Lombardo said at a news briefing.

He also said the investigation indicates that Paddock acted alone, adding that he does not anticipate any arrests in connection with the case.

Lombardo also defended the performance of the communications system during the chaos of the shooting and its aftermath.

“There’s no system in the world that can handle that kind of volume in a short period of time,” he said of the radio issues that officers experienced. “I personally believe the communications system was sound and robust.”

Authorities have said that Paddock, 64, of Mesquite opened fire with high-powered rifles on concertgoers attending the Route 91 Harvest country music festival from his 32nd-floor room at the Mandalay Bay resort shortly after 10 p.m., killing 58 people and leaving hundreds more injured.

Paddock killed himself as officers closed in.

The Las Vegas gunman had a mysterious fortune worth more than $1.3million held in separate bank accounts at the time of his shooting spree.

Stephen Craig Paddock, 64, also owned a shocking collection of weapons and firearm accessories, found in his home and his Mandalay Bay hotel room where he launched his attack, worth $62,000.

Las Vegas police said Paddock kept his money in 14 bank accounts and in his last two years of life he splashed out $1.5million, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

Following his shooting spree on October 1, 2017, Paddock took his own life and left no will, leaving his mother to inherit his fortune.

She decided to give the money to the families of the 58 people killed in the horrific shooting.

Paddock opened fire from the 32nd floor of his hotel room at the Mandalay Bay hotel and released a hail of bullets upon a Las Vegas music festival below, killing 58 and injuring an additional 800.

After 10 months, the shooting's investigation was closed in August as police failed to determine a motive behind the lone-wolf gunman's attack.

It's not clear whether authorities will sell his arsenal of weapons, which is still in FBI custody.

'What will be done to them is still to be determined. We have not been able to procure them yet, and we don't know if we ever will. We just listed them so everyone would know that they are assets of the estate,' Alice Denton, the attorney working on Paddock's probate case, said.

'Due to the highly sensitive nature of the tragedy and this probate, it would be my personal preference that we petition the court at some point to destroy them. But we haven't gotten to that point yet,' she added.

His fortune estimate was revealed in a recent court filing and shows that more than $455,000 remained in Paddock's 13 bank accounts at the time of his death. The largest amount he left in one account was $102,584.51 and the smallest was $30.95.

The filing only mentioned 13 accounts but Las Vegas police previously reported he had 14 bank accounts. It's not clear why there's a discrepancy in the number of bank accounts reported.

He was retired at the time of the shooting and previously worked as a real-estate investor, property manager, accountant, and was an avid gambler.

Two of his Mandalay Bay gaming vouchers from October 1 were also added into his wealth - one worth $29,000 and another worth $226.50.

In his last two years he spent a whopping $1.5million on casinos, bills to credit card companies, firearms purchases, and on his girlfriend Marilou Danley who received three separate transfers from Paddock totaling to $150,000 in September 2017.

When cops raided Paddock's hotel room they found about $41,000 worth of weapons and firearm accessories. When they combed through his Reno home they found nearly $3,000 worth of weapons and firearm accessories there and another $18,000 worth or weapons and accessories in his Mesquite residence.

His homes in Reno and Mesquite, Nevada were valued together at about $758,000 and in July a judge allowed them to be sold. However no offers have been made and both residences remain on the market.

Another hearing is scheduled for next week that will reveal more details of Paddock's wealth.

I can imagine there are sick fucks out there that would love to have one of his weapons to hang above their mantle. If they are no longer of any use for the investigation they should be destroyed.

LAS VEGAS - As the one-year anniversary of 1 October approaches, public attention is once again focusing on the circumstances that led to the worst mass murder in U.S. history.

The CEO of Nevada's largest employer, MGM Resorts Jim Murren has made few public comments since the shooting, and has been unavailable for media interviews, in part because of pending litigation related to the 58 deaths, and hundreds of injuries.

But he sat down with the I-Team's George Knapp for an exclusive interview about the events of that terrible night and the aftermath, one year later.

FBI Concludes Las Vegas Massacre 'Motiveless', Leaving Deep State Prime Suspect
Niall Bradley

Sat, 02 Feb 2019

On January 30th, the FBI published its final report on the Las Vegas Massacre on October 1st, 2017, which saw over a thousand rounds fired in 10 minutes at the Route 91 Harvest country music festival at the Las Vegas Village venue. Fifty eight people were shot dead and another 900 were injured, over half from gunfire, in America's most violent mass shooting. Focusing on what motivated 64-year-old Stephen Paddock to spend around $1.5 million of his own money, and a year of his time, planning and executing his crime, the FBI report concludes that the crime was without motive!

Faced with the impossible task of trying to make what was clearly a coordinated multi-site attack spread over a large area fit with the narrative that one man alone carried it out from one crime scene, it's little wonder the FBI came to such an unsatisfactory conclusion regarding motive. Critics will, justifiably, interpret this as confirmation that investigative authorities are complicit in covering up what really happened, who really did it, and why they did it, while the lack of reasonable closure on the case will do nothing to assuage the general public's unease with the official narrative for this and similar atrocities.

The best face one can put on the FBI's conclusion is that it is, in a sense, more honest than the alternative option of concocting some motive to fit with the core premise - laid down at the outset by anonymous mainstream media sources, then vigorously adhered to by the FBI - that one man acted alone. The problem for US authorities, and indeed for US society as a whole, is that this non-answer leaves a gaping wound in public awareness, emboldens the perpetrators and their patrons, and increases the likelihood of such crimes happening again.

With the US government and media derelict in their duty to protect the public by informing it of real dangers foreign and domestic - indeed, they are instead misinforming the public 24/7 about fictional Russian/Chinese/Iranian conspiracies - it is left to laymen to piece together the publicly-available data about the Las Vegas Massacre into a reasonably coherent narrative, containing at its core a motive which satisfactorily accounts for the scale and shocking depravity of the crime.

Despite the media's and official investigators' appalling lack of interest in following up on early police radio reports and the testimonies and video/photo evidence from many among the 22,000 people in the crossfire that night - specifically that concerning gunfire targeting festival attendees from directions other than the Mandalay Bay hotel, gunfire targeting multiple other casino resorts along the Vegas Strip, suspicious persons directing people off the streets and into casino resorts, and suspicious persons apprehended, chased, or even shot by Las Vegas police - the fact is that this large body of evidence remains wholly unaccounted for and, where mentioned, patronizingly is dismissed as 'mistaken reports'.

Triangulated Crossfire

Joe Quinn and I published analyses on the Las Vegas Massacre, and we also discussed it on a couple of our shows, arguing that the facts of the shooting do not support the premise that Paddock acted alone. We further concluded that Paddock was probably a patsy - in the sense that he either played a minor role, or no role at all, in the shooting.

I would suggest that at least three gunmen targeted the festival venue during those bloody ten minutes shortly after 10pm. Smashed-out windows in both the suite and the adjoining room on the north end of 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay make sense only for two gunmen, both of whom would have escaped long before SWAT teams breached the door - over an hour later - and found Paddock dead from a gunshot wound, allegedly self-inflicted just as the door was blown open, hence the reason they gave for why they didn't hear this fatal gunshot...

This may not have anything to do w/ the Mass shooting in Las Vegas, 2/10/2017, nor ANYHTING. I'll let you be the judge. One last thing, it was mentioned that the Nxivm cult may be involved though that's certainly speculation too. I couldn't find the Nxivm thread, so I put it here:

I have no idea who this guy is nor have I done any investgation of him or his show or political leanings. I just thought the vedio was enough to get some RI's talking... anyway on with it... The idea of doing a live military op on the people is terrifying.

While I thank you for the likely interesting discussion of his book and work ... I would remind you and all of what Jeff has said about posting material from / related-to MA Hoffman (I leave it to moderators to interpret):

It's with the context of this post, and my caution regarding Hoffman and revisionist sources here.

Are not those questions legitimate ones? Has this shooting been rigorously investigated?

If starviego had posed the questions without the red flag of his previous post, I wouldn't have commented.

Care to elaborate? I have no idea, what this means ... Jeff hasn't reminded me of anything... I have only spoken with him once.

Ok... I can now see after looking into this guy why he may be verboten, woulda been nice, if you could have explained it. None the less I found that interview quite interesting and was excited to discuss it through the RI lense.

Goddamn, is there a secret rule book on what not to do or say? I’ve posted here since 2011, and never heard any of the above.

I only remember it because I think at some point Jeff said the same thing to me directly because of my having posted a link to something Hoffman-related. I'm almost through with the listening to the interview myself - as I said, thanks for alerting me to it.

I understand Jeff's concerns about opening the door to the posting of material here from people like Hoffman - in all honesty, I was a little surprised that Guns-and-Butter would even interview him given his other controversial ideas (holocaust denial).

You can google michael hoffman holocaust revisionism and see what I mean ... an interview he did with Red Ice TV about the movie DENIAL also goes to this theme of holocaust denial ... and here's Rational Wiki's entry:

Michael A. Hoffman, II (born 1957) is an American author, Holocaust denier, conspiracy theorist, and general wingnut. He is also a self-described scholar of all things "Judaic" (as he calls the Jews).[please explain]
Works

Born in New York, in 1954, Hoffman was scared by a Talmud when he was a kid, and has never looked back since. In 2000, he wrote Judaism's Strange Gods, followed in 2008 by Judaism Discovered: A Study of the Anti-Biblical Religion of Racism, Self-Worship, and Deceit. Hoffman's works are a reflection of the idea that if you look for dirt, you're likely to find some. He also shows his desire to welcome Jews into the healing light of Christ. This is accomplished by ripping into their religion for about a thousand pages and showing them that everything they believe in is twisted and wrong. It's basically the same thing as the vicious Easter speeches delivered by Church friars, with the same goal (converting Jews). History tells us this worked spectacularly failed miserably, and it looks like Mr. Hoffman's work has achieved the same result: converting Jews making them more distrustful of Christians.

Hoffman's other works cover such myriad topics as the occult origins of Judaism, Masonry, and Route 66. He has also written on Holocaust denial, and White SlaveryWikipedia's W.svg. This gives one the sense that he is rather touched in the head.

Unfortunately, as of this writing, he is still publishing.

So yeah, GnB's having him on reminds me of the Murphy Brown reboot episode I just watched...

Murphy and the team weigh the pros and cons of accepting the offer to have the first interview with a headline-grabbing former White House senior advisor (David Costabile) who wants to promote his divisive book and agenda on 'Murphy in the Morning.' starviego, I'm going to presume you don't know what you just did, or why it is so unwelcome here.

When I began blogging, I cited a second-hand Hoffman quote on the cryptocracy. Soon after, I discovered who he is and which "historical revision" he represents, and I didn't make the mistake again.

So - don't do that again. Because it will result in an immediate ban.

Grizzly, check out Hoffman as Elfismiles suggests: titles like "The Secret Relationship Bewteen Blacks and Jews" is just the start. Bad news.
