The Children's Bill of Rights

Postby simian1 » Sun Nov 12, 2017 1:03 pm

I haven't shown this to anyone else, you here at RI are the first, ground zero for the CBOR. Im going to be posting at some other forums as well, sort of an experiment with the conspiracy community, of which I consider myself a part. My most sincere hope is that we can put aside all the finger pointing and work together for once. Or is cataloguing atrocities all we are good for? There is not a single signatory of the CBOR as of now. Who will be the first?

Thanks for reading,
T.

******************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************

For the first time in recorded history, the Children's Bill of Rights.

1. You have the right to be safe from predators and violent abusers. If you have been sexually or physically abused, I deeply apologize on behalf of our sick planet. It is absolutely not your fault, and your parents and every member of your family and community is responsible for what happened. Sexual abuse is the worst thing because it leaves no obvious scar, and often becomes the family secret when it should be the most discussed subject in every community. Anyone who covers for an abuser shares the guilt for their crime, and first responsibility for speaking out and taking action against abusers lies with the immediate family. Physical abuse is accepted in so many communities as a way to “discipline” a child with the same total lack of respect and conscience that they were shown as children. What they are really doing is creating angry, violent, unhappy people just like them. You must somehow find a way to escape and then rise above the cycle of abuse.

1a. You have the right to be safe before birth. You should not be exposed to drugs, alcohol, pollutants, or high levels of stress in the womb.

1b. You have the right to your foreskin or clitoris. Ritual genital mutilation, or “circumcision”, is a vicious practice designed to inflict sexual, physical and emotional abuse on a helpless infant.

2. You have the right to be respected by your parents or any adult caretaker. You should never be verbally abused. If you are being verbally or emotionally abused, then you must remember that the person is acting out their own childhood abuse on you, and try to educate them about cycles of abuse if possible. Try and focus your pain/rage into some kind of achievement, rather than taking it out on others.

3. You have the right to know about cycles of abuse in your family and on this planet. If every person in the world became aware of the cycles of abuse in their own families, that awareness would soon grow to their entire community and beyond. The vast majority of people on this planet are in deep denial about everything. Many things are not appropriate to tell much less show a child and yet you've been exposed to them anyway.

4. You have the right to clean air, water, and food. Due to the gross irresponsibility of your ancestors, there is none at this time.

5. You have the right to be drug and cancer free. Artificial products are cancerous.

6. You have the right to live in nature. Humans cannot flourish in a technological environment.

7. You have the right to a culture that is not violent, pornographic and designed to divide and destroy you. Modern mainstream culture promotes and glamorizes the cycles of abuse in every way imaginable. Before the advent of state religion/language and the loss of memory that followed, your culture was the stories and wisdom of your tribe and family, passed down.

8. You have the right to a well rounded education that emphasizes your strengths and teaches you to be independent. You have the right to a future occupation which does not perpetuate the cycles of abuse. You have the right to learn about psychology and self defense at a young age because you will need them to survive in a psychopathic society. State schools are slave factories and you will be encountering extremely abused children with every type of mental disorder there.

9. You have the right to a community that punishes child abusers harshly, and prioritizes children above all else. You have the right to a community whose laws protect the children and not the predators. No such community exists at this time. I'm writing this with the hopes that you, the children, will create one for yourselves.

10. You have the right to the truth. Your parents should never lie to you. However, your parents probably don't know the truth about institutional child abuse. The religious, financial, and military sectors that rule this world attract predators of every stripe. Predators often seek positions of “trusted authority figure”. You cannot trust most people, because they are all abused children acting out their abuses, consciously or unconsciously. There are entire industries, most totally legal, designed to lie, steal and kill. Your parents brought you into a world ruled by fear and the conspiracy of silence that follows it. There's more but you're just a kid. Welcome to Earth.

Yours truly,

T.

Child abuse is the last taboo, because it is so widespread. You can change the world, not with a gun or a bomb or a law, but by teaching children about their rights and learning about cycles of abuse.

This fundraiser seeks to bring awareness to the Children’s Bill of Rights, specifically by creating a multi-platform app which features the document and a set of interactive quizzes. The quizzes are designed to make children aware of their inalienable rights and educate them on how to protect themselves from predators and abusers. I haven’t finished writing the quiz portion but I will be posting examples here as the fundraiser progresses. I can tell you that I’ve already started writing quizzes on pedophilia and physical abuse. In a time when every child has access to the internet and all that comes with it, having this app on their phone could literally be a lifesaver.

That's it?

No snark and Milli Vanilli videos from the right?

No defense of Progress from the left?

That seems like a great and encompassing Children's Bill of Rights.

People raised with that degree of security will turn into better adults and better parents.

One item that was not mentioned and sure to be of some debate is the question of abortion.

This one - 6. You have the right to live in nature. Humans cannot flourish in a technological environment. - could use some fleshing out. I suspect I know what you mean, but nature is a tricky thing. Do you mean forests? Plants? Wilderness? Otherwise, the doc is an encouraging reminder of what is possible.

I like what I see, except this one, which just isn't realistic (or possible):
5. You have the right to be drug and cancer free. Artificial products are cancerous.

Nature is cancerous. The Earth itself is radioactive. Your body produces radiation. There is just no way to avoid the occasional glitch that leads to cancerous growth. There are of course ways to reduce cancer rates. Stopping coal would lead to something like 10000 fewer cases per year (coal dust is radioactive).

The statement "Artificial products are cancerous" is too vague. If I carve a figurine out of wood then that's an artificial product, but I doubt it will give anyone cancer.

Finally: not all drugs are bad, some might even be necessary. I agree that there are way too many pills popped for stupid and/or greedy reasons today, but a kid with diabetes will probably want to take insulin, an epileptic kid will probably want something to control his seizures, antibiotics are necessary to control infections and vaccines are necessary to prevent outbreaks of various diseases.

Btw: a children's bill of rights isn't anything new. The US is actually the only country in the world that hasn't signed on to the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (full text here: https://en.wikisource.org/wiki/United_N ... _the_Child ), which is a binding treaty governed by international law.

There have also been attempts to implement one in the US before:

Dem resolution calls for 'Children's Bill of Rights'
http://thehill.com/regulation/legislati ... -of-rights

Here's one from 1996:
http://www.newciv.org/ncn/cbor.html

California is trying, with some controversy:
http://www.latimes.com/opinion/editoria ... story.html

Another thing: you might want to reconsider some of the wording in your version. Sentences like "If you have been sexually or physically abused, I deeply apologize on behalf of our sick planet" seem unnecessary and a little odd in something meant as a universal list of rights. If you want people to take it seriously you should strive for more neutral language.

I can't jibe this with my support for a woman's right to terminate her pregnancy.
In fact, just having "1a" in it turns it into an anti-abortion bill,
even though many of these rights need to be recognized.

I've looked at this again, and tbh, I think it has some serious issues. It reads more like an ideological manifesto than a bill of rights and your personal views shine through quite strongly in places. If you want people to sign on it's probably a good idea to avoid as much as possible anything that gives the impression of a particular ideological bent.
I took the liberty of going through it and editing out the parts I think are unnecessary, with my comments in italics. Hope you don't mind.

For the first time in recorded history, the Children's Bill of Rights.

Starting out with a statement that is simply not true doesn't give a good first impression. It makes it look as if you have done no research before writing it.

Everything after the first sentence is unnecessary. Short and concise does the job just as well.

1a. You have the right to be safe before birth. You should not be exposed to drugs, alcohol, pollutants, or high levels of stress in the womb.

This needs clarification. What about abortion?

1b. You have the right to your foreskin or clitoris.Ritual genital mutilation, or “circumcision”, is a vicious practice designed to inflict sexual, physical and emotional abuse on a helpless infant.

What exactly do you mean by "cycle of abuse"? Does it have a specific meaning or is it more a general observation of the "violence begets violence" variety?

4. You have the right to clean air, water, and food. Due to the gross irresponsibility of your ancestors, there is none at this time.

5. You have the right to be drug and cancer free. Artificial products are cancerous.

I covered this in an earlier post

6. You have the right to live in nature. Humans cannot flourish in a technological environment.

This is just your personal opinion. It also overlaps with point 4.

The bolded part is what I meant with "reads more like an ideological manifesto". Not a good idea.

There are entire industries, most totally legal, designed to lie, steal and kill. Your parents brought you into a world ruled by fear and the conspiracy of silence that follows it. There's more but you're just a kid. Welcome to Earth.

I would replace this with something like "you have the right to access information without interference" or similar, with caveats for reasonable adult supervision.

Yours truly,

T.

Child abuse is the last taboo, because it is so widespread. You can change the world, not with a gun or a bomb or a law, but by teaching children about their rights and learning about cycles of abuse.

Finally, I think a children's bill of rights is a very good idea, but as I mentioned earlier, the US is the only country in the world that doesn't already have one, and there are/have been several attempts to rectify that. Adding this one to the pile isn't going to hurt, but I think a lot of people will struggle with taking it seriously in its current form.

That's pretty solid criticism and an excellent edit DrEvil.
I hope simian1 recieves it well and responds in kind - this is a worthy pursuit and I am curious to see where he is at with it,
and where he is really coming from.
How would you reconcile the abortion part?

Yes, very well laid out criticism. Glad someone did it. Thanks, Dr. Evil.

The US does happen to have an:

Unborn Victims of Violence Act

Read about it here. Most of us knew it was on the books, but I forgot about it. . .

https://www.bostonglobe.com/ideas/2014/ ... story.html

And yes, it has nothing to do with children at all. It has to do with control of women. They'll get to controlling the kids in a few months.

I absolutely love the idea, but it would go nowhere. It will be bounced with the first allegation that its main champion was a leftist pedophile even though he or she wasn't.

I meant to respond earlier to this thread and actually just felt awful I couldn't without sounding like a dick.
There is no me. There is no you. There is all. There is no you. There is no me. And that is all. A profound acceptance of an enormous pageantry. A haunting certainty that the unifying principle of this universe is love. -- Propagandhi

Thank you both. I'm not sure what to do with the abortion bit. I'm most definitely pro-choice, so maybe just remove that part altogether to avoid any confusion (or if simian is pro-life, spell it out explicitly. It's his document after all). That you shouldn't smoke, drink alcohol or shoot up on heroin while pregnant is already common knowledge, so having it in a bill of rights won't make any difference to the people who do anyway. Giving everyone access to good healthcare would be much more effective, and not really the purview of a children's bill of rights.

Speaking of healthcare, maybe an additional point: you have the right to access to healthcare, or something along those lines. Children need good healthcare too.
