If he says Trump won the "true vote", then he's the single, solitary number crunching elections expert to hold that view.

Most of them believe, if anything, that even Trump's ELECTORAL win stinks to high heaven.

The idea that his TOTAL margin of victory in the three swing states that won it for him was 70,000 votes - with exit poll to final vote tally "red shifts" of up to five and a half percent (a staggering, unheard of number) - pretty much puts paid to that balderdash.

No. Once again, like 2000 and 2004 (and 2002 and 2006), what we've got here is a Republican benefiting from mechanisms that have been set up by their predecessors to make it almost impossible for Democrats to win a "fair and free" election.

A second “expert,” Richard Charnin, is a conspiracy theorist

That's all that needs to be said, right?

he posts his theories on the JFK assassination

He's obviously a crackpot, and should be committed to a mental intstitution before he harms himself or others. Right? Talk about fake news!

is there any corroboration from anyone in regards to Charnin's statics?

is there anyone else here that does not understand it all besides Elvis and me?

Mazars and Deutsche Bank could have ended this nightmare before it started.
They could still get him out of office.
But instead, they want mass death.
Don’t forget that.

Why bother? He pushes JFK conspiracy theories!

You know these types. Probably a flat-Earther as well.

I missed this earlier—it's an important consideration:

Indeed. Hence my reluctance to throw Charnin out with the bathwater.

(My friend the Professor might agree to look over the recent data, he's all about numbers. I'll report any findings.)

As I remember I was rarely impressed with the works of the guy who posted as "TruthIsAll" on democraticunderground.com back in the day when it was (sensibly enough) the Republicans stealing the elections (as they still do). Even then found his stuff skewed and faulty in the premises long before the number crunching. Fallacy that any quantitative approach is automatically scientific.

Everyone seems to have been banned for a day or so.

I wondered if RI had gone dark. Now can appreciate RI all the more having had an inkling of demise.

I appreciated his input back in 2004 because I felt his methodology was consistent in focusing on the disparities between the final exit polls and the final vote tally.

However, just giving his latest summations a cursory glance (like Elvis and seemslikeadream, numbers crunching isn't really my thing), it seems that Charnin has changed his methodology in the last few years. According to his About Me page, he calculated the 2016 general election results " based on nine pre-election national polls using the Gallup voter affiliation poll." Yet he seems to give these the same weight as exit polls, even though the polls were not conducted on election day! So I think what you say that Charnin takes an "any quantitative approach is automatically scientific" has become his undoing.
