There’s no bread let them eat cake There’s no end to what they’ll take Flaunt the fruits of noble birth Wash the salt into the earth But they’re marching to Bastille Day La guillotine will claim her bloody prize Free the dungeons of the innocent The king will kneel, and let his kingdom rise
Bloodstained velvet, dirty lace Naked fear on every face See them bow their heads to die As we would bow as they rode by
And we’re marching to Bastille Day La guillotine will claim her bloody prize Sing, o choirs of cacophony The king has kneeled, to let his kingdom rise.
Lessons taught, but never learned All around us anger burns Guide the future by the past Long ago the mould was cast
For they marched up to Bastille Day La guillotine – claimed her bloody prize Hear the echoes of the centuries Power isn’t all that money buys
I'm sittin' on the top of Kilimanjaro All my heart is yearning Like a candle burning in the night Seasons keep on turning Sometimes hard to keep up the fight I will climb the ancient mountain I will find the last flicker of the light I'm sittin' on the top of Kilimanjaro I can see a new tomorrow I'm sittin' on the top of Kilimanjaro I cast aways all my sorrows
What a strange strange freedom Only free to choose my chains So hard not to weaken- Just give up and walk away I will climb the ancient mountain I will find the last flicker of the light
I'm sittin' on the top of Kilimanjaro I can see a new tomorrow (oh follow me up) I'm sittin' on the top of Kilimanjaro I cast away all my sorrows (oh follow me up) I'm sittin' on the top of Kilimanjaro It thrills me right down to the marrow (oh follow me up) I'm sittin' on the top of Kilimanjaro I can see a new tomorrow Um ho um
I'm sittin' on the top of Kilimanjaro I can see a new tomorrow I'm sittin' on the top of Kilimanjaro I cast away all my sorrows I'm sittin' on the top of Kilimanjaro I can see a new tomorrow

Bayeza abafana bancane wema Bayeza abafana bancane wema Baphethe iqwasha, baphethe ibazooka Bathi "Sangena savuma thina, Lapha abazange bengena abazali bethu Nabadala, bayasikhalela thina ngoba asina voti." (The young boys are coming, the young boys are coming. They carry homemade weapons and a bazooka. They say "We have agreed to enter a place that has never been entered before by our parents or our ancestors and they cry for us, for we do not have the right to vote.) Hayiyaah! The west is sleeping in a fragile freedom Forgotten is the price that was paid Ten thousand years of marching through a veil of tears To break a few links in these chains These things come to us by way of much pain Don't let us slip back into the dark On a visible but distant shore -- a new image of man The shape of his own future, now in his own hands -- he says: One 'man, one vote -- step into the future One 'man, one vote -- in a unitary state One 'man, one vote -- tell them when you see them One 'man, one vote -- it's the only way Bayeza abafana abancane (The young boys are coming) Hayiyaah! In the east a giant is awakening And in the south we feel the rising tide The soul inside the spark that gives breath to your life Can no longer be made to hide These things come to us by way of much pain Don't let us slip back into the dark On a visible but distant shore -- a new image of man The shape of his own future, now in his own hands -- he says: One 'man, one vote -- step into the future One 'man, one vote -- in a unitary state One 'man, one vote -- tell them when you see them One 'man, one vote -- it's the only way

Through all the days that eat away At every breath that I take Through all the nights I've lain alone In someone else's dream, awake
All the words in truth we have spoken That the wind has blown away It's only you that remains with me Clear as the light of day
O Siyeza, o siyeza , sizofika webaba noma (we are coming, we are coming, we will arrive soon) O siyeza, o siyeza, siyagudle lomhlaba (we are coming, we are coming, we are moving across this earth) Siyawela lapheshaya lulezontaba ezimnyama (we are crossing over those dark mountains) Lapha sobheka phansi konke ukhulupheka (where we will lay down our troubles)
A punch drunk man in a downtown bar Takes a beating without making a sound Through swollen eyes he sways and smiles 'Cause no one can put him down
Inside of him a boy looks up to his father For a sign or an approving eye Oh, it's funny how those once so close and now gone Can still so affect our lives
Take me now, don't let go Hold me close, I'm coming home
O Siyeza, o siyeza , sizofika webaba noma (we are coming, we are coming, we will arrive soon) O siyeza, o siyeza, siyagudle lomhlaba (we are coming, we are coming, we are moving across this earth) Siyawela lapheshaya lulezontaba ezimnyama (we are crossing over those dark mountains) Lapha sobheka phansi konke ukhulupheka (where we will lay down our troubles)
In 2018 a group of well-known musicians came together to celebrate the life and work of Johnny Clegg and recorded a special version of his song - THE CROSSING. All proceeds will go to the ‘Friends of Johnny Clegg Fund’ for primary education. The fund is all about changing lives of young learners all across South Africa, through literacy programmes and using technology in education to pursue outcomes-based interventions. The Fund is managed by The Click Foundation who will distribute funds to their various centers across South Africa.

Mazars and Deutsche Bank could have ended this nightmare before it started. They could still get him out of office. But instead, they want mass death. Don’t forget that.
It was another time Everything was… I saw it in a dream
