^^^ Regarding both characters, your skepticism is warranted. More than a few of our rural county execs are begging NYC folks to keep away - yeah, that'll work. Residents are complaining city dwellers coming to their upstate vacation homes are buying up all the food in local markets - their food!

'Holy Crap This Is Insane': Citing Coronavirus Pandemic, EPA Indefinitely Suspends Environmental Rules
https://thehill.com/policy/energy-environment/489753-epa-suspends-enforcement-of-environmental-laws-amid-coronavirus

I'm seeing a avalanche of criminal shit like this, happening while the Covid 19 crisis distracts ... most law suspensions end with, 'indefinitely'.

:wallhead: :wallhead: :wallhead:

(PDF WARNING)
You can read the EPA's new rule guideline yourself, but it is a long read:

A method for companies to request approval to bend the rules due to pandemic lockdown limitations is now put in place.

The thing about 'Boris' is that he's a crafty little weasel.

The whole 'blustering buffoon' act is a sham. The initial apparent 'inaction' was carefully choreographed to elicit the tabloid calls for 'more action', along with the lurid fear-mongering. "TOO LITTLE TOO LATE Fury at government ‘inaction’ over deadly coronavirus hitting Britain putting thousands of lives at risk", "‘Boris Out’ trends over prime minister’s handling of coronavirus crisis", on and on...

And so here we are. Locked in out homes (those of us lucky enough to have one), afraid to venture out under threat of arrest, whilst the final gutting of our local economies, social, health, aadministrative and, well, *all* systems by the corporate kleptocrats slips into top gear and hits the nitrous button.

And this 'overtly controlled media' would have us all cheering them as they do it. Yay, checkpoints.

Fear is such a powerful force, and they've played on this one with mastery.

Here is a very sobering short video from a doctor in NYC:

https://www.nytimes.com/video/nyregion/ ... ueens.html

backup link: https://www.reddit.com/r/CoronavirusUS/ ... es_of_nyc/

Main takeaways:
*Elmhurst Hospital is already overwhelmed. People are lined up around the block waiting to get tested.
*They have had to bring in an 18-wheeler to store dead bodies outside the hospital.
*PPE is being heavily rationed and they were only able to get 5 additional ventilators despite their urgent requests for more.

Undoubtedly there are some here who will claim that this doctor is a crisis actor since she submitted this video to the historically dodgy NYT. But please watch the video and decide for yourselves.

(numbers that make clear the primary cause of death was covid-19, which may turn out to be a challenge to ascertain, if even attempted).

The numbers may well balloon. Or if they ultimately fall short of this season's seasonal flu figures, it'll be [reportedly] due to social distancing/quarantine measures in place, which helped pace the volume of severe cases and reduce burden to hospitals - a sure win for Trump and Co.

Hell, let's see how the numbers look in 2 weeks. Are you ready for thousands of deaths every day? Remember, for all the nuanced & quantified skepticism in this thread, you guys are skeptical about an event which hasn't happened yet. You're demanding numbers from the future and wondering aloud why nobody can answer your shrewd questions.

9/11 was a discrete moment in time, it happened and it was done, then we could begin the reporting and the doubting and the analysis and the scrutiny. With this pandemic, we're still waiting for the planes to hit the building, tracing the flight paths.

I agree with you completely on the question of attribution. The real extent of what happens in 2020 will be an argument for historians in the decades to come. First up, we know there are multiple versions of the test that lead to false positives. But that will pale in comparison to the workload of testing corpses -- which will effectively not happen at all. There are simply no available resources, when you've got living patients in crisis, to ascertain whether or not dead bodies were indeed felled by coronavirus.

So, prisoners, homeless, senior citizens, rural folks and anyone losing their lives outside of a controlled clinical setting will be reduced to a debate about rough estimates and rules of thumb. What percentage of that total can we assume to be nCoV fatalities? It will come down to napkin math every bit as fast & reckless as the contents of this very thread.

And everyone will be able to say: You see? I was right.

.

Indeed.

Minor point of clarity: I remain a skeptic on skepticism surrounding this entire event as it unfolds. Nothing is certain. Whatever I may think today will probably change next week. And then again.

My wife works at an urgent care facility within ~30 miles of NYC; while not nearly as impacted as NYC, we have daily conversations about the latest 'real world' updates as she encounters them.

An update on NYC as of today, courtesy of NYTimes.

On the day that the United States surpassed China as the country with the most known cases of the coronavirus, with more than 85,000, Governor Cuomo shared another grim statistic: 100 patients died in one day in New York.

The state’s total number of coronavirus deaths now stands at more than 430 — with 365 deaths in New York City as of yesterday evening. The number of people hospitalized for the virus in New York also jumped 40 percent yesterday, Mr. Cuomo said.

The news came in stark contrast to the optimistic briefing the governor gave on Wednesday, in which he pointed to the state’s slowing rate of hospitalizations.

New York State had nearly 39,000 confirmed cases as of yesterday morning, up more than 8,000 from Wednesday morning. As of yesterday evening, New York City had recorded more than 23,000 cases.

The governor emphasized that the numbers on any single day did not necessarily capture the damage being caused by the virus.

Here’s what else you should know:

State and New York City officials criticized the $2 trillion federal stimulus package that was approved this week by the Senate for not going far enough to boost the local economy. The House is expected to approve the measure today.

Mr. Cuomo said the package would do “absolutely nothing” to help New York overcome its tax revenue drop of $9 billion to $15 billion, because the $5 billion the state would get is earmarked for coronavirus-related expenses.

Like other cities around the country, New York is moving to release vulnerable, nonviolent inmates from jail to stem the spread of the virus among the incarcerated.

By late Wednesday, 200 inmates had been freed, bringing New York City’s jail population to 4,906, Mayor de Blasio said yesterday. The last time it was below 5,000, he said, was 1949.

More than a dozen city blocks will be temporarily closed to vehicles in an effort to open more outdoor space for pedestrians and deter them from packing into public parks. The following streets will be blocked off between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m., Friday through Monday:

Manhattan: Park Avenue between 28th Street and 34th Street.

Brooklyn: Bushwick Avenue between Johnson Avenue and Flushing Avenue.

Queens: 34th Avenue between 73rd Street and 80th Street.

Bronx: Grand Concourse between East Burnside Avenue and East 184th Street.

An upscale retirement community on the North Fork of Long Island has announced six deaths from the coronavirus, creating fears of an even bigger outbreak among the confined population. The cases are the latest to hit a facility for older adults, who are at high risk of dying from the virus.

“I’m 90 years old. I’d like to die naturally,” one resident at the retirement center, Peconic Landing, told her son. “But I don’t want to die for this.

A nurse at Mount Sinai West hospital in Manhattan died after contracting the virus. Colleagues and relatives said his death could have been prevented.

In Connecticut, where many wealthy New Yorkers own second homes, Gov. Ned Lamont urged all travelers from New York City to self-quarantine for 14 days upon entering the state.

Another unnecessary & insane move by team trump. Take every advantage, especially during a national health crisis to put our health in ever greater danger. Talk about swamp monsters!

In December 2019 the Chinese authorities notified the world that a virus was spreading through their communities. In the following months it spread to other countries, with cases doubling within days. This virus is the “Severe acute respiratory syndrome-related coronavirus 2”, that causes the disease called COVID19, and that everyone simply calls Coronavirus.

Few thoughts I posted today, as a general invitation to brainstorm.

Image

The idea of a “covid-19 virus” continues to facilitate massive global changes at an unprecedented speed. And as we enter all the way into a global climate of artificially induced liminality (AIL), opinions or strong and fixed positions, of any sort, start to become potentially deadly. Flexibility and spontaneity, the most essential attributes to receiving and following our guiding intelligence, become increasingly hard to maintain.

We are in the advanced stages of societal schismogenesis, in which, if we are not careful, we may find ourselves on one side of a manufactured divide. As the paranoid-aware, we see the machinations of the social engineers all-too-clearly, and feel their scorn and derision as they rub our collective nose in the audacious gall of their malevolent machinations, and feel a corresponding upsurge of fear and loathing. Am I right?

On the other side of this (imaginary) divide, we have the ever-more compliant “sheeple” (whom I once referred to, with aristocratic disdain, as humatons), those who are not merely going along with the dark Pavlovian program, but actively policing the rest of us. We who refuse to withdraw to our customized jail-cells at a ring of the bell, or to do our bit to “flatten the curve,” become their enemy, and they in turn, if we take the bait, become ours.

It is easy to see how both demographics are being prodded and provoked into an ever-deepening sense of moral superiority and smoldering contempt for the other. If you are at all like me, you may find yourself having thoughts such as, “If this is how stupid humans have become, they deserve to be wiped out by a virulent bio-weapon.” If so, then you are experiencing, first-hand, the efficacy of our overlords’ age-old M.O: divide and conquer, mimetic contagion, scapegoating. These are the oldest and simplest, most universal principles that continue to reap the most astoundingly effective results, only now with the technology and the mass to assume critical momentum.

Eschaton, here we come. Sheep on one side, goats on the other.

But what if all this is just a simulation? What if those who create the fake narrative of good cop government saving the world from killer virus are also creating the (real) counter-narrative—left and right hands working independently—of bad cop totalitarian regime using a bio-weapon to shoe-horn in an age-old biometric enslavement program? Parapolitical truth isn’t enough to set anyone free; if it were, would it be so damn easy to come by?

Before deciding on any sort of position on this, we need to take the time to breathe deeply, tune into our innate bio-intelligence, and reconsider everything we think we know, see, hear, feel, and perceive.

Full post: https://auticulture.com/invitation-to-a-brainstorm/

For personal testimony, I live in a small town & run a thrift store business and we are staying open and keeping our ears to the ground, and so far there are no confirmed cases of the CV in town, though there are plenty of rumors. Some people are locking themselves down but others are not, and even some of those who have are getting antsy already and breaking their own quarantine. There have been two, possibly three, deaths this week of Fentonol OD, due to the unavailability of the usual supply and the resulting recourse to stronger, more toxic mixes. Most people who come into the store seem skeptical about the seriousness of the virus and/or convinced it's a bio-weapon; I would guess the majority are aware they are not being given anything like the full story.

Last I checked, one or two restaurants were still open, while the more mainstream franchises are drive through or take-out only. So far I am thoroughly unconvinced of an actual "pandemic," though it is possible there are a number of viruses, both bio-engineered & natural doing the rounds and a directed attempt to conflate them all in the stats. That we are being rapidly corralled into a pre-planned new economic (probably techno-socialist) landscape of totalitarian biometric control is something I have zero doubts about [I know, I know: stay liminal!], though I suspect it will ease off soon for a while before round two commences. Hollywood types do love their twist-endings and sequels.
